you need to hear "The End of this Chapter" if this is the type of Sonata Arctica era you wanted to hear.

I take my hat off to the person who chose this song. It's a personal fave of mine, and the album this is from is, imo, Sonata Arctica's peak. I'm very happy that you enjoyed it.
If this song moved you, then the final song from this album, "Draw Me"...well, let's just say that I definitely recommend checking it out, even if not on video, just to experience how heart-wrenchingly beautiful it is.
Thanks for uploading this, it was a joy to see someone hearing it for the first time and enjoying it.

Kudos to the person who picked this one instead of, you know, Full Moon. 😅😅 I listened to both Sonata and Nightwish as a young teen growing up, and did not even realize how pampered I was musically.

Tony's voice always gets to me. He's another that can express pure emotion so well. This song hits hard, maybe because of who I am, and where I am in life.

Sonata Arctica - my first love in metal scene! Power metal is not a big thing for me anymore, but I support these guys big anyway ofcourse. And they are from my home country Finland, so🤟🤘

@@TheWolffAndTheMelody Most definitely! A personal request for my favorite song by them (even though it's on a later album) is "Don't Say a Word". If you are able to do it, do the lyric video one titled, "Sonata Arctica - Don't Say A Word [HD w/ Lyrics]", not the "Official video" with them playing. They cut out over a minute of the song for some reason. Plus, reading the lyrics adds a lot. Cheers!

Sonata arctica is my favorite band by far. Gravenimage is one of my personal favorites. The Misery and White Pearl Black Oceans are two similar ones by Sonata Arctica I can recommend. Thank you for a video man God bless.

For a long time during my teens, Sonata Arctica was my favourite artist. I have to say that these days it's not the style of music I am generally into as much anymore, but Gravenimage was among my favourite songs by them, and it's amazing to re-experience it like this through/with you. Definitely still hits home. Maybe even more so now.

Being a massive fan of SA for over 12 years I can whole heartedly say they are severely underrated IMO. They have a few great albums and a smattering of songs from other albums that are fantastic. The magnum opus for me is White Pearl Black Oceans aprt and part 2. They both tie together a story which is easy to get lost in. Totally worth listening to them.

It is funny, I was listening to this exact song the other day and I thought "I should try to find a way to recommend it to Tommy"...then I forgot. Tony's voice is amazing and he's a great dude. Sonata Arctica is one of those bands I always come back to and it's always great. It was an amazing and very fun experience to finally see them live last year. Please consider listening to "I have the right", "Paid in full", "The cage".

The vocalist in this could definitely sing well. I wouldn't normally listen to anything like this,it had a very familiar sound to me, but I could not put my finger on where I knew it from. The keyboard or synthesizer in this was really cool. I'm not sure when this came out, but it had a late 80's early 90's sound to it. Also they sound alit like Meatloaf to me.

Great song! I feel like Sonata Arctica has gotten lost in the shuffle for me, but I'm definitely going to be listening to them at work tomorrow! Love the Wolf Howls at the end!! 🐺🐺

    • @FloraNB
      @FloraNB 5 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

Fun fact, I believe the wolf howls are actually meant to lead into the next song in the album. That song is called "The Cage", and it's wolf-themed. They had a wolf-related song on each of their albums, the earlier ones at least, I'm not sure if they kept that up because I haven't really followed them in years. The songs aren't all super obvious but when you know there's a wolf song on each album you can probably figure out which ones they are 😉

    Much love my friend❤️
This one is so nostalgic for me, that's why I recommeded it. I used to listen almost exclusively to Sonata Arctica in my late teens. I don't as much anymore since my music taste is a bit different now, but some songs still has all these emotions attached to them. Such as this one.
Both the melody and the lyrics I thought was such a perfect reflection of my inner turmoil and struggle with self during this time. The song itself feels a bit disjointed, varying wildly in tempo and feeling. It is slow and sad, it is frantic and scrambling, it is angry and finally a sad acceptance.
Which was exactly how my mind felt when I was at my lowest. So disjointed and all over the place. The lyrics I used to interpret as the inner struggle against yourself, your self love/hate, your wanting to be like other people, fitting in and to please everyone with high expectations. You craft an image that you hind behind, concealing and suppressing the real you whom you think everyone will be disappointed or weirded out by.
The last four verses, in short, for me means to dare to have hope in that you one day will be wise enough to find a way to coexist peacefully with yourself, even if it feels like time is running short. That the damage might be permanent.
I feared that I would always be stuck in this self destroying duality. But I did find my peace eventually, even if it took me almost 20 years. It's been a very hard but maturing experience, being comfortable with yourself as you are.

I've really appreciated this band for over a decade and a half. I had the pleasure of seeing them live late last year and I can say, they sound just as good live as on the albums. If we are going down this road I can recommend several pieces I'd love to hear your thoughts on! Just to name a very few of the greatest songs, Don't Say A Word, Flag in the Ground, Talluhlah, Last Amazing Grays, Juliet, The Boy Who Wanted to Be a Real Puppet, My Dream's But a Drop of Fuel for a Nightmare, Fullmoon. I'd love to see your reactions to some of these awesome and beautiful songs!
