Thank you! Excellent info. I am very grateful for the info as I was looking to work out how to do this very project of recording two people; the client and me as the interviewer. This works brilliantly. Thank you again!
hello, currently what do you think is the best lavalier to connect to the tascam h1n (which from what i understand is the best at that price) under 100 dollars? thank you!
Good morning. I have a question if you could answer it is much appreciated. I have the Blink Pro kit and my wife and I will be doing an episode together. Is it best to capture dialogue involving two people in stereo or mono before post?
Great video, just what I’ve been looking for. I am planning to record a same interview set up. Could I plug in a boom microphone (which will be over both heads) into the stereo input? Is this something you would recommend? Thanks
i have a question for you guys. so i wanna record my videos outside (so far i record with my phone and also use an interface with a mic to record audio) and i started to look into small microphones, preferably wireless to record while being outside. my question is, how should i go about this? do i need a voice recorder that would have the mic plugged in or can i somehow hook my phone up with the mic for that? Thank you in advance!
How would you go about getting good audio in/outside using a wired v-lav mic and need more distance than the 14ft the one in this video offers? #mailbag
#mailbag how would you record an orchestra with only 1 mic? Would use somehting like a shotgun microphone in the backrow or something more like the XY patern found on somehting like the Zoom H1 in the middle of even the front row?
#mailbag Okay, this is going to sound stupid, so I was tentative to ask, but I bought the V Mic 3, it's great I love it, I've been looking at the S Mic2s. Now both of those mics seems to have a similar if not the same form factor just different output methods. I look at the spec sheets and to a novice like me it doesn't look THAT different. Aside from 3 pin XLR and 3.5 mm plug ins what are the REAL differences with a mic like the 2s and the D3?
Awesome stuff! #mailbag does it matter what type of camera to use to plug up the mics? Would adding any additional equipment to the set up to reduce reverb or echoes be necessary?
Hey Andrew and Steve. You mentioned that the lav cable is 5 meters long .I wanted to ask , as the Lav pcable is not a balanced xlr cable is there a change of introduceing interference issues on a long unbalanced lav cable. Thanks for the Great video JF
Not really bc we have shielded the cable pretty well. Don't run it parallel and directly on top of 120v mains power but thats true even for XLR cables. For setups like what we are showing, should always deliver the audio you'd predict.
I ALWAYS get clothing rustle while using the moleskin sandwich even though it's designed to reduce clothing rustle. What am I doing incorrectly? The sandwich itself, placement? please help #mailbag
If you were to boom mic both people could you still keep them the same distance apart as they were in this video? The boom mic would be the S-Mic 2S or the S-Mic 2...your choice :p This was a great video showing the audio differences.
Nicely done gentlemen. I first heard of Deity in regards to the 416-esque shotgun for voice over (which sounds great). Now this Lav? Nice stuff. My cameras to not have headphone out, but the mixer would satisfy at least a couple of needs we have. #mailbag
