Fishing has been good but tricky. High flows are forcing people to drift fish rather than sink and wait (which I don’t mind) we have a huge 4 weeks in a row of stockings coming up so it’s about to be on 🔥
No flippin way. The second spot you were at, I was there not to long ago. Literally the exact same spot. Its a no bait only artificial lures zone in Sedona next to the highway I beleive. I saw a bunch of rainbow Trout all hiding in that one deep spot, there was alos one really aggressive brown trout, but I couldn't get him. There was also a bunch of wild blackberries and wild apple trees.

I hear the hatcheries in AZ had a bad year and we are importing Utah trout so our stockers are bigger this year. Have you noticed this at all?

I know there are a few hatcheries down forsure, but I think there’s a few still up and running. I have seen a good mix of small and bigger fish.
I noticed this summer that the stockers at Woods Canyon Lake were much larger than usual. Many 16-18 inch range bows in those groups.
I hope your hands are wet BEFORE you handle the trout !

You throw those fish back in the water like they are trash. That is no way to release fish. You need to learn how to properly release a fish.
They’re stockers not wild fish. Have you seen how they stock trout?
