  • Do you have an exam coming up? Watch this video to learn what to do to prepare yourself. We’ve learned how to study for and pass the exam, and studied so hard for many weeks, but if we aren’t well-prepared for the exam, it will be difficult to pass. So, in this video, I shared what I did from a few days before the exam to prepare myself, and what I did during the exam to ensure I stay calm and get good scores. I hope you find this helpful.
    I passed all 4 sections of CPA exam in just 2 months with the average score of 89, at the age of 49. And I wanted to share how I achieved it, so I can help people pass the exams too.
    Below are the scores by section:
    - FAR: 90 Jan 22, 2022
    - BEC: 90 Feb 14, 2022
    - AUD: 88 Mar 9, 2022
    - REG: 88 Mar 30, 2022
    (2 months & a week from the 1st section, 4 months including study time for the 1st section)
    I plan on sharing more videos that can be helpful for CPA candidates, so please subscribe ;-)

    Thanks much for your tips! Found a lot of info in Internet on how difficult and challenging CPA exams are with a very high fail rates, which makes you feel demotivated to even start this process, especially when you have a family and a full time job and you gonna scarify a lot to get prepared for CPA. I watched all your videos, and now feel more confident and feel like I have a plan when and how to start my CPA journey.

    Hello, your content is great & really helpful. Can you please make a dedicated video on How to prepare for the Audit paper of CPA.... Like from start to end what should be the exact strategy to nail it. Thanks in advance.

    Can I ask:
    1) do the Prometric give us as many scratch paper 📝 as we ask for or just 1 piece at the beginning of the exam.
    I’m so manually so I like to write things down especially for sim and even some calculation while doing mcq. I do hear that excel is build in with the exam but sometimes I just need to handwriting things to figure out the problem.
    2) I know that they grade grammar and spelling. So I want to ask if the exam software have spelling check build in that it can recognize incorrect spelling words and underline in red for us just like Microsoft Word and Excel do?
    Thank you!

    • @sugarcpaus2091
      @sugarcpaus2091  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thank you for your questions. 1) they give us one piece of scratch paper at a time. If you use up the first one and need another one, then you need to raise your hand and they will give you one. 2) I'm sorry, but I don't remember. You are probably talking about the Written Communications in BEC, but I believe what's really important is how many key words you can put in, and make sure you don't misspell the key words. For other stuff, I believe small misspells wouldn't hurt your score, but I'm not 100% sure. I'll let you know if I hear otherwise.

    That was an awesome video, I like it, very timely, I am taking the exam soon.
    May I ask one thing, how did you deal with the call of nature (need to pee while you are in the middle of answering the testlet)..

    • @sugarcpaus2091
      @sugarcpaus2091  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thank you for your comment and question. Luckily, I didn't have that issue. I made sure to go to the bathroom before the exam and during the break between testlet 3 and 4, so I was ok. Also, I talked about this in my first video, but I took the mock exam at the same time of the day as the actual exam and set the room temperature the same as Prometric to make sure I feel physically ok, that might have helped.

    Thank you for your videos.
    They are straight to the point and easy to understand/follow.
    Do the prometric give us 2 screens (1 for the exam + 1 for the excel spreadsheet?)
    Can you also share when should be a good time to schedule for the test during the testing window? Like at the end so we can get the score release soon?
    Thank you!

    • @sugarcpaus2091
      @sugarcpaus2091  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thank you for your comment & questions! You only get 1 screen, but it's big enough to show both exam and Excel in 1. You can open all exhibits in DRS questions too. As for the scheduling, I should've talked about that, but it's better to be close to the end of the window, but avoid the last day because sometimes your score release gets pushed back to the following score release date. So, a few days before the end date would be the best.

    • @anhtran6230
      @anhtran6230 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thank you for the information!
      Can you let me know what is DRS? I just started the first 3 modules and don’t know what that is.

    • @sugarcpaus2091
      @sugarcpaus2091  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Sure, DRS is Document Review Simulation, and it is a simulation question which has a few documents attached like email, voucher, invoice, letter, and you have to read them to be able to answer the question. It usually takes long to answer, but on the other hand, you can find some answers in the documents, so if you practice and get used to it, it's not too bad.

      Thanks, but it's not a fancy story, and I'm not like super rich. It's just a little bit of everything like saving from salary and stock options, some investments in stocks and mutual funds, little bit of crypto, so on so forth. I just got enough to survive the rest of my life doing a little bit of what I like. CPA was something I wanted to do to finish my career with, so I don't have a plan to do much with it. Maybe take a few spot consulting jobs here and there when my friends need me, but right now, I just want to help people who are studying for the CPA exam :)
