I think it was the Cannibal of Rotenburg (Armin Meiwes in the State of Baden-Württemberg - Germany). He met a guy on the internet and both decided. that the cannibal should kill and eat the other guy. It was also filmed by the cannibal.
He served his time in prison and he could had been released in 2017, but the court decided that he was still a danger to the public (Not only to the horrible crime that he committed). At least that is what i heard lately.

Hi there Juan - NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO lol Rotenburg/Fulda is in Hessen, NOT in my beloved Baden-Württemberg - i happen to live here .......... lol - don´t shock me ..... by-the-way there is another beautiful town called Rothenburg ob der Tauber - it is in Franken/Bavaria - not too far away from Würzburg. definetely worth a visit - very, very old houses - sadly a lot of people confuse it because the names are almost identical ......
@@Thomas-cx6cb Oh yeah you are right. It was in Hessen. Close but no cigar. I am sorry that i didnt fact check before i did the comment. That was all i knew from the news, when in i was a teen. Hopefully everything else was correct :/. And i hope that this guy wasnt released from prison (or preventive Detention).... Sorry m8. Btw this guy was born in Essen (North Rhein Westfalia). A city i lived in for about a year or so.
@@JuanCarlosChiliPimmel Hi there, no, to my knowledge he wasn´t released, he admitted though that what he had done was "wrong" - now don´t be surprised, it took him a while to get to this point of view, in the beginning he and his lawyer argued that it was the "voluntary" decision of two adult men and the judge was apparently not sure to judge him for murder or manslaughter .... . b-t-w he sued Rammstein - however he failed.

Another song about a real tragedy is "rammstein". Again i recommend a live version from 2019, unfortunately i haven't found one with english subtitles.
arte, German / French television broadcaster, has filtered out the singing of the crowd from the song. In the original, the lead singer can hardly be heard ... unfortunately, the filtering not only removes the singing of the crowd but also the mood. Anyway, thank you for your reaction.

There was another cannibal case last year in the north of Berlin. So when you come and visit Germany, be careful - lol - the menu here is somewhat "special" ........ if you watch the "original video" this is even more disturbing ....BTW the killer was recently sentenced to - life-in-jail which means here in germany at least 15 years. In his professional life he was - ähm ... a teacher. I always had my problems with teachers ... sigh🙃... but that´s a long time ago .....

I'm not the biggest Rammstein fan, but have to appreciate their huge show - and their overall abilities in music and expression. It's the only german band I know whicn can go to Paris and make the french crowd sing Germsn.

For those doubting, no I DIT NOT read any background info before hand. I , as always, only looked up the meaning of "Mein Teil" as always with any song title.
It is quite obvious, with the blood all over, the huge pot and the butcher knife, that this was referring to the Meiwes case. Anyone could've made that assumption.
I am a big lover of crime documentries and this case has popped up a number of times.
I love Rammstein for who they are and also the type of messages they convey. 🤙 not for any other reason.

By the way, for "Mein Teil" Rammstein was sued by Armin Meiwes (the cannibal).
"Oh wait, wait , wait. I've heard of this case." Yes - 'cos you read up on it beforehand - no way that you knew that story otherwise, you're not a good enough actor to carry that off. If all you want is to use the popularity of Rammstein reviews to get monetised, then the real Rammstein fans will soon suss that out. If you really enjoy the music, then don't use sponsors to be the reason.
With all due respect, the only thing I "read" beforehand is the meaning of the phrase "Mein Teil".
It is pretty obvious that, with all the blood, him with but butcher knife and the guy in the massive pot, that this was reffering to cannibilism and anyone could've made that connection.
The Meiwes case was very popular worldwide. I love watching crime documentries and that case has popped up a huge number of times.

@@ITN_Global I too made the immediate connection. I heard the story not long ago …maybe 4 months. It was about this guy who went into a chat room and it was obvious to others that he was getting more and more delusional to others in the group. This guy advertises in that group that he’s looking for a willing participant to be eaten. This other person who is apparently just as twisted and sick volunteered to be eaten. I believe there was a thing too about whether or not the survivor was even guilty of murder because it was consenting on both sides. So the looney that said you couldn’t make that connection is incredibly wrong. Once you hear a story like that, it’s easy to make a connection because it’s so rare (thank goodness). I don’t remember the particulars but that story came to my mind immediately too.

I also do not understand the criticism of some people, because just because Rammstein sings in German, it is understandable to inform yourself about the text beforehand, the better you can enjoy Rammstein's songs....also everything done right.....
