The best mod anyone can do to there entry level car is tyres. Though a turbo is never a bad thing. 2555/275 is pretty full on for a six. What would transform the car would be Michelin PS4, Continental Sport Contact 6 or RE003s in a square setup (235/45/17). Square setup makes the handling neutral and forgiving. Motor magazine in the Hot Tuner event had a modified VE SS that, running a square setup, did better lap times than similar powered cars with staggered setups. ROH sells a 17 x8 rim for $165 each. This setup especially with your shocks and tyres would make it an awesome handling car:) For safety as well mate. Go for the PS4s - Michelins wear slowly and perform unbelievably well around the corners.
2008 and 2009 is the best year for LY7 too as they had revisions to the timing chain setup, pcv port and other mechanical stuff They also had the trim levels revisioned in 2009 the International lost the fog lights but gained BBS style wheels and later in 09 the LE0 and LY7 were dropped for the new SIDI v6's and the 4 spd and 5 spd autos were dropped and replaced with an advanced 6 spd auto
I don’t hey, never heard them in person. As good as stuff sounds over video it always struggles to pick up the real note. It’s never the same as in person
hey mate, i have a series 1 ve, its got a 2.25 inch xforce catback system, with quad tips, its abit quieter than i like, it has a mid section muffler, and 2 rear mufflers total, i was thinking swapping out the rear mufflers with hotdogs, or either deleting the mid section muffler and going with an x-pipe.. what would you suggest? cheers
I’d recommend trying hotdogs or smaller rear mufflers first man. Once you cut into the mid section it just becomes complicated if you don’t like it. Atleast with the rear end it just unbolts and is easy to change
@@FknFaction I’ve got Xforce 2.5 catback system on my VF SV6, do you think that the straight pipes your using will bolt on to the Xforce system I have? The hotdogs I currently have on are abit too quiet and shit haha

Hey do you know if the x force mufflers have a baffle in them or not ? They definitely have a good note and was wondering if there was no baffle in the muffler or not
Hey mate I believe that they do. Overall the actual size of the muffler a baffle is a hell of a lot smaller to stock. Being a bigger diameter pipe also makes it louder... I don’t know the ins and outs but give a exhaust shop a call theyd be able to tell you 🤔👍 if your in Brisbane I’ve got my work done at right price mufflers in moss street, slacks creek

Hey mate! Got a question, I Just purchased a 2011 Holden Commodore SS V8 Wagon. It doesn't sound like a v8 at the moment with the stock muffler. What would you recommend i replace them with to get better rumble out of them? Thanks in advance!
Haven’t actually heard one In person that I know of. Tbh probably a better exhaust then a x force being it looks like it’s full stainless but the x force is mild steel stainless. Price of them isn’t to bad too
Thumbs up man, very smooth video. I'm only a beginner with this stuff, and this vid was good for starters.

So your saying after the poor design of the pcv being restricted with such a small breather hole the 2008 pcv was improved?
Cheers, very informative 🤙
Second clip sounds way better than the first
I like em both tbh
The trumpet sounds better than the raspy fart alot of VE's get
You definitely got your year 12 and finished school haha
Thanks for the video mate. You're the champ👌
Bloody great video, thanks for posting
Good video man.
You should capitalize the C's in your channel name so its Commodore Cartel, it'll look better.
We planned on it but for some reason it ain’t letting us change it
G’day what was the exact name of that first exhaust pleaseeeee
X force 2.5 inch stainless cat back
Got one for sale
Hey did you get the 2.5” with hotdogs or resonator in the mid section?
Hey dude, I optioned for the resonator.
I had to LOL when I bought a V35 skyline that had a nismo exhaust catback reminded me of a v6 commowhore every time I stepped on the gas
Any thoughts on the empire performance muffler deletes?

Where can I buy the straight pipe from ? I tried xforce they don't sell them
EBay has plenty of different options

would the xforce exhaust be easy to install by yourself?
Yeah bro, very easy when you’ve got a hoist. If you on the ground under the car it’s abit harder

In the video? It’s factory headers, factory cats, xforce mid section 2.5” mild Steel and 2.5” straight pipes

Where did you get your straight pipe exhaust from
eBay
i got the x force already just wanted to see if straight pipe was worth but ill stick with x force
What was the first exhaust setup that you used?
Standard through to hotdogs on the rear
Is the xforce exhaust the one with the hotdogs in the centre or the centre muffler
Just a small mid muffler

commodore cartel Thanks for the response mate, love the channel aswell
It’s not back pressure, if the exhaust is to big you won’t get a scavenge effect, eg leaves exhaust in the cylinder so you don’t have all fresh air.
Great video
How do I get them straight pipes
We bought ours on market place second hand, available just on eBay if you want them
Do a burnout
🤣
@@FknFaction for the boys cmon
good video easy unbolt straight pipes ok but best to have hot dogs also
No such thing as too little backpressure. Also you need a better jack my friend.
