So excited for the Artist. I just ran a PR 10k in the Standard Issue Black, shattering my 2021 goal, actually. Glad to be an Austin boy, supporting this Austin company.
I’m here in Leander for over a year now. First run in my voyager and it was like they were made for my foot. Congrats on the PR and love the atreyu support!
Very grateful for this, thank you! Also, good to hear it's fun to run in and in production. I'm a UK size 12 so was sceptical it would be made. Now just need a half marathon to use them!
First shoe I've ever pre ordered! I'm trying to forget about it so it'll be a pleasant surprise when it arrives (barring the DHL text asking me to pay more duty...)
Awesome. Waiting for mine. Mike, it would be cool of you could dona comparison of these plated shoes at marathon power, indicating which pace you reach with each of them. That would show which one is more efficient (higher RE). Cheers.
It’s a comparison that I’ve been doing a bit lately with some other shoes. But I’m not sure that I consistent enough of a runner that the data would show differences in shoe efficiency versus my constantly varying levels of fitness, fatigue, and altitude/grade. But I think, going forward, I may take a bit more of a disciplined approach to testing out racing shoes at a variety of paces, like moderate, marathon, threshold, and 5k paces.
would also love a polar vantage V2 update, they added some updates to the power structured workout. Interested to see if it solves any of the issues you mentioned in a previous video.
Mike, I am super stoked to have pre-ordered this one. But they have now said that the midsole is going to change to be a supercritical EVA and they are doubling the thickness of the carbon plate to 2mm. I am going to be very interested to see how they ultimately turn out.
If you do a 100mi review, I'd be interested in knowing how many miles you think the outsole might last for training. Thanks for keeping us in the loop on this 💫
Thanks for the video review. Couple of questions: How's the shoe feel on gravel vs road? Does it absorb the larger pebbles on the road? How does the grip on the gravel feel? I've got a 24+ hour back yard ultra coming up. Could you see this shoe being comfortable for over 24 hours of running, or would the base model w/out the carbon plate be a better option?
Fuelcell TC and Zoom Fly Flyknit. There was a very long discussion of it in early drafts of this video, but I decided to cut it for brevity and because I thought it might be a discussion more appropriate for the 100 mile review.
Is the midsole foam in your pre-production model the same as the foam that will be in the production model? You said yours is a TPE, but they had said it would be a "supercritical EVA" on their facebook and instagram pages.
I'm not an expert on chemistry/material science by any means but I think EVA might be a type of TPE? I believe TPE is a broader definition of a type of "foam". EVA is the actual chemical used to make that "foam". Not really sure what Atreyu means by "supercritical" though.
@@briannee9693 Supercritical means the EVA is infused with Carbon dioxide while heated to a super high temperature at which the CO2 remains only just short of becoming a solid, thus providing the EVA with much different properties in terms of bounce/durability etc. TPE is a different type of material altogether, Thermoplastic Elastomer.
@@briannee9693 Just checked and Skechers Hyper Burst material is also infused with CO2 at Supercritical temperature. I know Skechers suggest that this is their own technology, but you can buy pre made supercrit EVA midsoles from China on Aliexpress website, so they seem to be a generic ( albeit decent ) midsole
I would love to try them, but because there is no EU distribution, I have to pay $47 transportation costs, and have the risk of havong to pay €21 import tax. Unfortunately, that'll make this the same price ax the Endorphin Speed, or Nike ZoomFly3.
Not sure about where you live but for shipping to the UK, the duties and taxes were including in the shipping costs. Mine cost £110 to preorder and the Endorphin Speed cost £155, so quite a bit cheaper. The Endorphin Speed are so good they are worth the money. Hopefully the Artist will be too.
It doesn't have PEBA midsoles. That's makes out 2/3 of why a shoe is faster. PEBA is light and has a high energy return. The carbon plate is not that important.
Give this shoe a look and a possible pre-order buy. As you know, I already have an awesome rotation and then some. The impetus to order this shoe is I am wonderful if these guys hit gold, they will jack the incredible $100 price. Hmmmm. What to do...
Most of the time when you say you'll post a link below I can't find the link. Are they normally in the description or somewhere else? Enjoyed the update, price point is very intriguing since I thought the Saucony Endorphin Speed was a good price at $160.
I prefer the GoPro because the image is sharper and it’s faster to work with from a production standpoint. But there are some shots I just can’t get with the GoPro, so camera choice typically comes down to which shots I want.
@@kofuzi Awesome Thanks for the reply and insight! You're definitely one of the best out there with addressing your followers whether it be here or your other Social Medias it's much appreciated!
Does anyone in here have wide feet? Dis this pair of shoes friendly to wide feet runners? I am comfortable with the Novoblast width so just wondering how these shoes compare with Novoblast width? TIA

Always a pleasure to hear your feedback. We are so excited you are digging the shoes!
How to get your product in Malaysia?

Mike - looking forward to being an Artist in Q1. The shoe may be street legal, but sound like the fun ride may be illegal! 😉
Love to see your channel taking off, one day that sub count will match the effort
Already loving my Atreyu subscription and super excited to get my hands on a pair of the Artists. They also have the best looking shoes in my opinion
We are so glad to have you on the subscription team! Thank you for the kind words 🙌
Best shoe names, take notes Sketchers and New Balance. Once i have run through some of the 99 shoes in my rotation i might try a subscription.
Subscription model has changed, every two months but now you can get single purchase for $75 with free shipping.

How do I get The Run Experience shirt, please?? Super Fan!!

Pre-ordered these to wear in the Dallas Marathon 50k next May. Hope they live up to my expectations
Atreyu have been great really! Enjoyed my Fear Only Regret model. Shame I can't order it easily in EU.
Looking forward to the 100 miles review. That's a great price point if it's a decent shoe.
Can't wait for the first run in my pair! :D
Great to know it's a Q1, 2021 timeframe, @kofuzi - and being listed /certified for racing!
Can't wait for my Artist's to arrive :-)
K, hope you and your family have a fabulous Christmas. May there be many shoes under the tree. :)
I'm really tempted to order some Atreyu kicks
me too but I feel like they'd be too wide for my foot

Hope the artist comes to local running stores. A ton of new runners would probably buy it over other brands because it’s much more affordable.
Would really love to try one of these.... Shipping and import tax to Sweden add ups to 70$ though, so might just pass.
@kofuzi does Jami have his, too? Thought you said it on your Livestream today. Will be a great 2021 for Atreyu and The Artist runners!

I heard a rumour that Atreyu were thinking about using pebax for this shoe, is that still possible?
