- Thank you so much for watching, I hope you find this useful. In this tutorial we are reinforcing the spine of a gutted book and this technique could also be used to repair a spine.
I was almost right...It was Sea Lemon, Not Paula! (Sorry Paula)

Thanks again for watching, Tracie x
Neat tutorial Tracie! I remember I did a tutorial on this (for book cloth) a while ago too and mine was based on a lady named Damask Love. I was so stunned when I saw that same lady on TV last week! There's a show out here in the US that just started called Making It and she's on it! I was like! What!? Whoa! 😂😂 It's a whole show for crafters - like a crafty competition! And if I'm not mistaken she said she's able to live off her blog now. I was telling my hub...shes soooo lucky! 😂😂😂 I digress haha! But this just totally reminded me of that. It's neat to see a crafter who has made it so far! Anyway.... Thanks for sharing your process, great job teaching.
Wow, thats awesome. It was Sea Lemon...Not Paula Lemon I watched. Little booboo LOL. xx Thanks April xxx

Thank you Tracie. This tutorial is exactly what I needed to know ie how to repair the spine of the journal when you have accidentally sliced into it. I am just starting out in the journal making experience and am learning so much from your videos. I enjoy watching your videos. 😊
great advice. TFS. These are beautiful books by the way, vintage or not. I love them.
Thanks Huni xxx
A very helpful tutorial ...thank you Tracie xxx
I have watched a few ladies do this and I have come to this conclusion.... I am getting myself a rotary cutter for edges, I just think it would be easier then trying to cut the edges with big scissors. Thank-you so much for this tutorial, it was very informative. Have a lovely day!!! AMB...Rose
They are awesome xx
Once again, thank you for this tutorial! Exactly what I needed.
Glad I found this...have one book cover that I did a slight bit of damage to , knew it could be repaired by tyvek, but to see step by step helps...now I know how to go about it!

Great info, Tracie! TFS!
Love your videos! I am so happy to hear there is someone else out there like me! I do not do a journal start to finish either but they do get finished in the end. :)
Hi Tracie. Great tutorial. Working sideways makes sense to me. Also, working on several projects at the same time works for me. ☮️
thanks for the tips & tricks Tracie & btw most crafters have several projects going at once...especially where glue is involved
Yeah for sure :-D xxx Its the best way to be LOL xxx
Thanks, great tutorial....again!!!
Thank you Traci. I appreciate you answering my message.
Thank you! I have a mini album that keeps cracking abd I have tried a lot off different things that have not worked. I thought the work and expense was lost. I am going to do this and I have a notion that all will work out. Yipee!!
Thank you so much Tracie that’s so awesome and helpful and useful to have......I think 💭 those book covers are beautiful. I really love 💕 what you said about you’re iron and if the clothes you buy need ironing you don’t buy them 😀 not a bad maxim to have eh ❓ I’m just going to clear up the kitchen then have a play in my craft room.....xx Mags
Go for it Mags :-D xx

Yay that was brilliant my lovely.... so I can do most of that haven't got the Heat N Bond so might get me some of that as well as the tissue that's cool. Thanks for this.... and I'm the same don't like sticking to one project.... always lots WIP going.... have a great day now you have at least one baby home!!
Glad it helps. xx
Traci, I have watched this video because I want to make a journal using a book I bought because of the front and back cover, but my book is old and the spine is coming loose from the front cover. Is there something else I need to do or is the process the same as in the video? Love all your videos. Thanks for sharing your talent and your time.
Hi, There are lots of other ways to reinforce the spine or make a new one. There are other video's on YT that can show you :-D xxx
I have some fabric I recently got at our local thrift store and I got a ton of it for very cheap. I'm thinking I need to send you some so I can get some inspiration. I'm not sure what kind of fabric it is. It doesn't tear like normal cotton fabric, and it does melt if introduce to heat so I'd love to know what it is and how to use it. Lol. I think it would be great for spine repair! I have a happy mail package getting bigger everyday for you.
OH MY DAYS, you so do NOT need to do that! Thank you so much for watching huni xxx
Thanks for this, great tutorial.
I didn't catch the name of the rolled up paper you use? And where can it be bought (UK)? Thanks
Heating bond? Is that what I ask for? Is it a DIY item, sort of Homebase thing?
Heat and Bond, ut thats the brand. Amazon, has it. I get it from a local fabric store, xx
Tracie Fox LoveJunk Journals thank you! x
Instead of using Tim Holtz round hanging thingy-where did you see the better ones? I couldn't understand the ladys name-Jessica something? Thanks--love your videos!!
I'm a Cool Mom :-D x They are bigger and look more solid. xx
My book is gutted, some of the pages ready in signatures. Now I must repair my books. They are old Dickens novels that belonged to my father, so they are precious.
Fab work huni! xxx
Great tutorial I'm like you I get stuck & move to something else for a while.
I know you’ve been asked a dozen times but can you remind me where you got your paper tearing ruler from? I’m hopeless, I’ve completely forgotten! Thank you 😊
Great tutorial, thank you 👍👍Also, can I hear contented cat snores at around 12mins? Sounds like sleepy purring 😆🐱
Sweet! I am actually in the process of making an art journal for myself and needed to reinforce the spine and a lot of tutorials weren't clear enough, lovely video thank you! Btw - I love your rings!
Thanks huni, I love your rings too, we are clearly ring people :-D xxx
Great tips! I do the same with my choice of clothes...needs ironed???...nah I’ll pass!! Have a great day! Blessings, Mary
