Yep. My 2023 TRD Sport long-bed is definitely worth more than I paid late last December. But I wouldn't consider selling it. Its our 3rd vehicle, its for trips up to the mountain, snow storms, hardware store runs, picking up plants or fruit trees. I don't use it for commuting or for commercial purposes. I plan on having it for at least 10 years. I know that's a goldilocks situation, not everyone has an extra truck they can baby with low miles. But I am very happy I grabbed one of the last 3rd gen Tacos. Feel like I won the Taco lottery!
I’m keeping my 2014 Trail edition 4 runner with 135,000. 4 wheel drive with all the off road bells and whistles and runs like the Energizer bunny. Never a problem with this vehicle. I love it!
Some dealerships like to add "certified pre owned" fee to the used car price. So after all said and done you'll end up paying the same price that you would for a new vehicle.

I agree, I ended up getting a 24 TRD off-road premium 4 runner this summer so that I can have a reliable vehicle for the rest of my life, sick of all this over tech, over priced crap that doesn't last.

Give me 2WD any day! I need a truck that will carry things not for construction or off road play. Less things to break and better gas mileage. I want one that has a great ride on the road. 4WD won’t. Still, they both cost way too much and dependability seems to be going down.

looking at a used lexus gx460 premium with the sport package today, can't really justify paying these truck prices at this time when I no longer move drywall, lumber, and furniture on a regular basis
I'm considering getting a new 2024 frontier pro4x at 39k. I'm still not sure though. I looked up the resale value of what it would be after being bought and it's only 27k.
I looked at identically packaged Ford's save for the size: one 250, one 350. Both Lariats with leather interior. Same paint, same wheel/tire packages, same everything. The 250 was listed at $96k. The 350 was listed at $93k. For a friggin LARIAT! 😮
@Jason-Samko ya buddy, had it last year in snow was good even in 2wd. Got truck snow tires for it at a good price with 2nd set of oem rims. Shes quite the tank u almost dnt even need 4wd. Every time i do put in 4wd tho i find its way smoother at a stop then doing on the fly u can get clunks etc. But i still do what u said put it on at least once a month in a straight line!
Interesting, but remember: cars & trucks are NOT investments. They are depreciating property. Don’t buy a car or truck thinking you will make money on it in a few years when you trade it in or sell it.
I bought a new TRD offroad taco in 2018 for $34k NEW (excl doc fee) and they delivered it 5 hours away. It took some searching but I traded it for $800 more than I paid for it new 6 months later because I didn't like it. But I can see why it would be $4k less without the 4wd.
I’m guessing I should get out of the stock market, land investments and bonds and invest in used Toyota vehicles. Incidentally Franklin Toyota is famous for screwing their customers when trading .

@Jason-Samko I didn't make it to the ZR2 as my dad complained about the height of getting into the trailboss lmao... so we test drove the z71... I was not all for the z71 but it did perform alittle better on the road, gas pedal reaction mainly maybe alittle smoother(if that matters) .. the sales guy did show me some type of dealers invoice that showed $40,100(ish) ... but with their being multiple of each trim at this dealers locations.. I wanna pay 35k.. I have watched your videos how to bargain but im not sure how you stiff arm them down. do I just walk out after insinuating I want it
@h3rmzi walk out for sure,dealership loses its advantage and it really throws them for a loop. Gather up the paperwork and tell them you'll go over it at home where your not rushed and think about your price ( a facial grimish here sets tone) then leave. Guaranteed they phone next day. At that point you have advantages and your price is few thousand less than there's .I wouldn't go back in till price is settled via email

Tell him he has to do much better compared to what you are hearing from other dealers. Then see what he does. In the mean time call other dealers and tell them you have been calling dealers and you are so close to your price of 35 thst the dealer that hits thst number gets my business

I owned that same truck. Exact set up. Bought it new for 37300. Traded it in on my rubicon only got 3200 on trade and was 20 months old with 66k miles. Now 43k used. Crazy what the prices are doing

@@Jason-Samko I'm one of them. I specifically waited to see what the new Tacoma was going to be and I awaited news of the midsize Ram which turned out to look unpromising. After seeing all that play out I went with the other longstanding player, Frontier. If there had been a Ram on the Gladiator frame with a Pentastar V6, I would have bought that. Stellantis really screwed the pooch on a golden opportunity there.

The 2023 SR Tacoma is not even an SR5. (Steel wheels and no fog light and no SR5 Emblem on C Pillar) and worth more than the 2024 SR5.
