    Most people just don't realize that the interiors of German premium cars (Audi, BMW, Mercy etc) are made by the French company Faurecia. And Faurecia is a Peugeot's subsidiary. Thus, those 'refined' German premium cars' interiors are actually built by the French... So why so much hate towards the French in the commentary section? Can't we just enjoy different cars without being such an annoying hater in the commentary section? I'm personally not a fan of 5008, but I can understand why many people love it and I don't go spilling hate in the commentary section. Grow up, kids.

    Another design classic by Peugeot, as is the 3008. I have a 308 GTI, knocks the competition out the water with its 1.6 litre 270 bhp engine.

    Another superb review. I have one since 2020, superb car. 1.5 diesel fast enough, 55 - 60 mpg (rural dwellers we are, it does 40 in town), comfy suspension even on 19 inch wheels, nice handling for a big car, stunning interior design and quality, small steering wheel works and feels lush in GT Line spec, great auto high beam and infotainment, Tom Tom sat nav very effective, big central storage under armrest means you do not need the small glovebox, auto gearbox superb, great ambient lighting at night and digital dash superb. Front seats look lovely, but are firm. Stunning car to look at, and so much more sexier than a Kodiaq. Suited us, as we are MPV users, shame MPVs are out of fashion now, and this is really an MPV dressed up to look like an SUV to adapt to public demand, that was perfect to replace our 2007 Grand Picasso. We did not want a 4wd off-roader - 'SUV's are a marketing success, not an engineering success. Recommend!

    The glovebox is especially small on the version you have there because it is fitted with the fragrance defuser which is housed in it. If you don’t have that fitted, the glovebox is very deep if a little thin. Cracking review as always.

    Great-looking car. As expected, there are many freaking anti-Peugeot trolls here in the commentary column. They love to talk shit about Peugeot although they have no idea that a French company Faurecia (a subsidiary of Peugeot) is the one who develops and makes the interiors for Benz, Audi, BMW etc. So, those excellent build quality of Benz, Audi, BMW are largely thanks to Peugeot's expertise!

  • @arnemaeschaelck5012

    The three cylinder 1.2 L engine was one of my main concerns. It’s a pretty large car but some way they made it possible for it to be pretty lightweight (only a bit more than 1.200 kg).
    However, it’s still designed to be able to move 7 people around, with such a small engine.
    3 cylinder petrol engines are magically more powerful and fun than most people would think, and they’re very fuel efficient. They could be the future, and that might be what Peugeot wants to show us, and even though a 1.2 liter one might push this lightweight car around fine in everyday traffic when there’s only the driver and maybe a passenger sitting in it, it will get horrible economy when there’s 7 people sitting in it, it would be way harder on the engine and the driving experience wouldn’t be as good.
    But it’s a nice car if you occasionally need to drive people around or if you’re just driving your small children to school.

      They did for the 06 and 07 model ranges, but not anywhere near as common nowadays. It's a bit unnerving, but it's a group-wide thing as Citroen don't do it either, so it's not just Peugeot.
      My 208 obviously has a small glove box, but I can fit in gloves (shocker), sunglasses and a can of fizzy drink, and have it cooled (probably more effectively than having a large glove box). What about the handbook folder? Passenger seat back pouch. I've also got four cup holders, not that I'd use the front two below the climate controls, but you can take those out for extra storage. So, it's not all bad.

    • @Sherukka
      @Sherukka 7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yeah, and the car is this video has so much storage space that you will forget whats in there! Way too many people use all the storage space to transport a large amount of trash in their cars! Clean your cars people! :)

    Give the idiot reviewer a tip. Learn to drive smoothly and you will find the steering wheel is no problem at all!
    There is never a reason for sudden steering wheel movements at all. 5008 & 3008 are not designed to be driven as a sports car they are an SUV, so drive it accordingly and 19 inch wheels give a far superior handling experience than his choice of 18 inch wheels and, give up to 60 mpg easily from the 1.5 hdi eat8 too. I have never got worse than 48 mpg and that’s usually stop start town driving.

    i-Cockpit is a bit worse than Audi's Virtual Cockpit. And this little lever from 206 to control cruise control is a bit pathetic.

    • @TheGolfdaily
      @TheGolfdaily 7 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Konrad Kowalczyk
      Audi's virtual Cockpit or what ever it is called has the display with-in the steering wheel.
      Which means, when you are going around roundabouts or in curve, you won't be able to read the navigation and other important information.
      Architecturaly speaking, Peugeot's i-Cockpit is much more advanced than that of Audi's and offers much more possibilities in the near future.

    • @konradkovalczyk
      @konradkovalczyk 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      TheGolfdaily I have never looked at gauges while turning so I don't know what you're talking about. Audi's cockpit already has many awesome features, it's easy to use, has nice design, graphics are sharp and clean, display is very hi-res (and in Peugeot it's not too sharp tbh) Even journalists say that audi has the best virtual gauges

    • @TheGolfdaily
      @TheGolfdaily 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Konrad Kowalczyk
      People look at the navigation screen especially when they are in the middle of the roundabouts to find their correct exits.
      Yes, Audi has excellent screens but it is optional and you have to pay over 1000s of dollars while Peugeot i-Cockpit is totally Free and available from the lowest trim level.
      I have driven an allure version of 3008 on various occasions. The quality of display in my honest opinion is surprisingly good for a car that is in mid 30k SUV.
      If I am not wrong, it was Peugeot who first brought out the use of concept and word, "Cockpit" before Audi has.

      TheGolfdaily I think that PSA cars drivers are used to drive without watching the road since even using A/C demands to look at the screen. When I'm about to get on roundabout I just check where to go before getting onto it and listen to navi's voice instructions. The first company to ever use virtual cockpit was actually Audi. I think it's been called virtual cockpit since the very beginning in R8 and TT. I've driven cars with both virtual cockpits and Audi's is just better. Even if you have to pay extra it is well worth it

      I believe Audi first used the word "cockpit" in the mid 2015.
      Peugeot brought out their first i-Cockpit on the Peugeot 208 launched in 2012. It was from model 308-II they stared using the word "i-cockpit" to describe their unique head up cluster with small steering wheel and stand up central touchscreen, and it was launched in 2013.
      Thus, I am pretty certain it was first Peugeot that has brought out its unique driving layout related to the brand using the word, "Cockpit " before Audi has.
      There is another advantage of i-Cockpit over that of Audi's.
      The instrument cluster of Peugeot is significantly higher up and further than that of Audi's. Meaning, your eyes are much closer to the road when reading the instruments. You don't have to look down and make less of eye focal re-adjustments to read the IP.
      And not to mention, much more compact steering wheel that is sportier and requires less movements to manipulate.
      Another words, Peugeot offers advantages on multiple, physical and ergonomic points.

      Have you seen the steering mechanism of an Airbus 380?
      -Its just a dink joy stick.
      The same goes to modern tanker ships hundreds of meters long.
      If you think the steering wheel size has to be proportional to the size of a vehicle, then you are still living in the 19th century.

      I am wondering, Did you complain about Audi's flat bottomed steering wheel when it first brought it out in their TT?
      Or,
      The square wheel of Ferrari la Ferrari or vertically squared wheel of Aston Martin DB 11?
      -If so. I will shut up now.
      If you haven't, I would like to ask you why.

      People just don't realize that the interiors of German premium cars (Audi, BMW, Mercy etc) are made by the French company Faurecia. And Faurecia is Peugeot's subsidiary. Thus, those German premium cars' interiors are actually built by the French...
