I think parts of it were where he was imagining how Bin might have felt after he died (wandering the darkened streets with the empty heart). I hope it helps others deal with grief because I think it’s why he did this song, to help himself deal with it!
I like that you mentioned the time loop in this one too, because it really does feel like he's suspended in time, unable to move on from the event. For fear of reading far too much into things, I feel like he purposely went to LA in order to film the MVs because LA is where he was when Bin passed. It's almost like he's trapped in that moment, feeling like if he had just left earlier, he could've have gotten there in time. (Especially with the line, "The sky was clear as glass on my way to you, and I hoped the sun wouldn't rise.")
