- Hey everyone, welcome back to my channel! Recently, I decided to move to Gangnam - which happens to be in the heart of Seoul! In the video, I take you through the process of moving (apartment hunting, packing, and the moving day!) and towards the end I answer some questions and give tips on how to move and find a cheaper apartment in Korea. I hope you enjoy the video, it's longer than usual but I feel like I didn't want to cut any of the advice I give at the end. Hopefully it helps if you think you're wanting to move to Korea or find a new apartment! ✨

How did you find the realtor? Do you think the housing apps are worth it? When you paid the deposit & rent, you used your phone. Was there a special app you used or just transferred by bank? Thanks for your help!
So the housing apps normally don’t show actual apartments that are always available, they do this so that when you contact them they can say “oh let me show you different ones” and more likely make the sale. I think they’re good to use to find a realtor who speaks English if you aren’t confident to go into a realtor yourself! Or to maybe see pictures of apartments that you’d like and so you can show the realtor things you’re looking for in an apartment. That’s what I did. I messaged on one of the apps and the korean realtor referred me to an English speaking one! Then when I went in and met him, he showed me apartments and if I liked any I would go visit in person. As for transferring money, it depends on your bank! Each bank in korea has their own app and that’s what you use to transfer money. I could actually only send my rent through the phone app. Unfortunately, some banks put a restriction on how much you can send via the phone app at once, so for my deposit, I had to go to my bank’s ATM to transfer the deposit!! I’m so glad I could help!! If you look outside of Gangnam, you could probably find some even cheaper with cheaper deposits but just as nice! 💕

@@AshleighE wish I would have found your informative vlog sooner. It was down to the wire so never did get to hire a second mover. He had to carry down most of it, specifically the heavier items like fridge, sofa bed, coffee table, and book shelves. It ended up costing a fortune which makes me wonder if another service would’ve been cheaper than 800,000. Thanks for the info -will be sure to use it for my next move ^^

@@AshleighE totally learned my lesson. Always declutter weeks ahead of a move and not try to declutter as you pack cuz it’s time consuming and overwhelming. He said if he hadn’t spent so much time helping me pack up it would’ve been half that price. So lesson learned the hard way. Thanks for putting out such informative vlogs. Total lifesaver. ^^
