Thanks for the Video, pricey bit if kit. I looked for something equivalent, no luck so far. Just so you know, in the future, always disconnect the Negative side of a battery first and reconnect last. It sparks less, leaving less chance of an explosion of the gasses emmitted from a battery.
Do you know if that hole saw was the "Bi-Metal" or "Carbide"? I am about to install this plug on my boat and need to go get the hole saws. Also, have you had any problems with the plugs?
The one I have is Bi-metal. The plug is still like brand new and I use it several times a week in saltwater. I'm very happy with it. Thanks for watching.
Great video! How did you make that mounting plate? Looks good. I need to do this with my boat
I used a piece of lexan from Home Depot. I cut it to size and then painted the back with black hobby paint.

I actually have a battery switch on it but wanted to show for video purposes. I didn't know that though. Thanks for the tip and thanks for watching!
Doing mine tomorrow. Thx for the video
You're welcome. Hope it helps!
Those mechanical connectors are called splices, and the little metal sleeve is a ferrule.

Great video! Amateur but intelligent.
Has it been water proof?
Yes. It has an O-ring inside the cap that seals it off. I've had zero issues with this thing! Thanks for watching.
Been looking to switch out mine as well but i see two versions, MKR-26 & MKR-28. Would you happen to know the difference between the two?
I don't. I asked the same question and couldn't get an answer either.
Are you not supposed to put ferrules on the plug wires? I saw you put them on the trolling motor wires..
I did put them on both..... or at least I wanted to... lol.
You should of use a ferrule crimper and crimp those prior to installing them in the sleeves
almost $200 -- wow, great product but pricey.
It is pricey, but I had to have it. Lol
Say MKR 28 on video title but the plug says MKR 26 ……
It's essentially the same, the MKR-28 is the newer version and can take heavier gauge wire (up to 1 AWG) on the receptacle side
