    FYI - There are some features that you've left out. Most importantly, the lid holder that props the lid up so you don't have to look for somewhere in your kitchen to set the hot lid down. There is also a steam rack. And the tidy little cord clip to keep the cord tidy. But thank you for your time and for sharing your recipe!

    Other than unplugging it, does the display ever turn OFF? (e.g. it was off overnight and this morning the display was lit showing "off" ) Seems like the display would burning out or the word "off" would "burn in" on the display?

    Thank you for the excellent overview. To clarify one thing regarding use on the stovetop, the manufacturer says, "electric, ceramic and induction cooktops, plus oven (up to 450F)." It seems that the inner pot can not be used on the stovetop if you have a gas range. Your information helped me a great deal. In fact, I am about to order one.

    • @thasneen
      @thasneen  ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Great review... also fab to see some1 making the ribbon soup (new to me) ... i'm awaiting delivery of this model. Last pressure cooker I used was in 1980s, stovetop powered, all manual, no button adjustments.... not as easy to control pressure(used to turn vegs/legumes in2 mush) but fabulous for beef stews etc
    Im interested in how well the slow cooker in this model works... ive read that the slow cooker facility is not straightforward - i can c why it might be fairly redundant due to the speed/convenience/efficiency of the Pressure method.
    Thank you for the review.

    Thanks -- this was useful as I have never used an instant pot (yet!). You are very clear and you look so pleasant as you speak that it is a pleasure to watch and listen to you. BTW, I loved your video with the comparison chart. That was the most complete one I have seen and it helped me make up my mind -- I am going to buy the Pro!
    However, can you please explain: I don't get what the steam release reminder alert actually is for. When does it go off? And what is it reminding you to do?

    • @thasneen
      @thasneen  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Glad you liked my videos & thanks for the wonderful feedback :) Pro is an awesome model, it has all the latest features. In Instant Pot, there are basically 2 ways of releasing the pressure: 1) is natural pressure release (after pressure cooking has completed it will take a few minutes for the steam to completely release, we don't have to do anything- steam is released naturally), 2) is quick pressure release (right after pressure cooking has completed, we can manually release the pressure- slide the button on the lid to vent). IP Pro has a new feature, we can set the Steam release reminder to 5 minutes or 10 minutes. Let's say we set the reminder to 5 minutes- after pressure cooking has been completed it will do a natural pressure release for 5 minutes & after that, it will vent the steam completely (we don't have to manually vent the steam). In the video, I manually released the pressure (even though I kept the 5 minutes reminder), I think that's somewhat confusing- I should have waited for IP to vent the pressure. Hope this helps :) Enjoy cooking in the IP.
