He didn't decide to go on that stage to off himself. He wanted to go on there to make a speech as he was asked to do. He was just already on stage when fighting Cyberlife.

I like it. Connor is gathering all his strength to become a leader, in spite of having never been one and only because no one else can do this job. That would be a cool ending.

you know the difference in his dialogue is kinda sad since his voice goes softer and stutters slightly when he says "we have the right to live" considering cyberlife always thought connor that he is only worthy to continue living if he proves useful to them, that hes only special to them if he completes his mission. even other small stuff like "we have always remained silent, we have always stifled our pain" considering connor often had to lie to himself about his deviancy and how conflicted he is, how he fears, or cares for people that he shouldnt, he had to hide all that to not upset cyberlife aka amanda. (and with the connor was always a deviant theory this rings even more true)
I agree that connor is not the type who is a leader to give a speech(even himself questions when they asks him for a speech), but I think that is why this scene is meaningful. As he has never been or taught how to be a leader, he looks pretty awkward to stand there, however it feels like this is just a new beginning of connor’s life. Leaders aren’t always born as leader.

probably cuz connor is too soft spoken compared to markus, it would be harder for connor to pull off a whole speech about courage and freedom to the similar level as markus while still keep in character. sometimes you can hear in this clip even where he doesnt sound loud or bold enough for his lines. granted this makes this speech special in my eyes cuz they did good with tying it to connors character arc and what hes gone through
I never really understand the connor ending choosing between "give up" or "suicide" We already became deviant we broke the program Amanda should not take control again. Even if there was an emergency program/exit should not suicide.

Connor is not the type to deliver passionate speeches about pacifism. It's Markus' thing. I understand why Quantic Dream decided to cut this.
A bit of a yes and no from me. First of all yes, the speech sounds really out of place; However, I mean that in the way that it's given. You never hear connor giving these type of speeches. He's always been more of a timid, held-back "person" that only really has its full potential shown during the action. Nonetheless, I do think that he could've given a speech, but more in a way that fits his personality. Unsure of what to really say, and using his past understandings over the course of the game to sympathise with the other androids, and to use his relationship with hank as an example on how humans and androids could live together in peace. But in the end that's just my opinion on it.
I honestly LOVE this speech. Sure, they can change a few words to make it more fitting to Connor since it’s easy to picture Markus saying it word for word, but Bryan Dechart’s performance is what really shines here. It feels like Connor is allowing himself to *express* his emotions after stifling them in for the whole game. I personally really love this; especially how much personality he finally brings, only for the inevitable to happen right after this. It’s beautifully tragic.

I think it’s exactly the reason you mentioned. Kinda would be a lot more depressing if Connor gives this impassioned speech about being free only to have to off himself or become a slave again. So they cut it.

Wonderful job restoring this mate! I think the main issue with the speech is it was written for Markus and a separate one should have been written for Connor. It wouldn’t have to profound or have the sort of gravitas that Markus’ has, just some honest words maybe relating to Connor’s arch and new perspective on androids. I think if it were written that way, it could have worked as this sort of cool alternate ending.
I kind of wish they kept this speech in but maybe changed it a bit to make it fit in with conners character as the speech is basically cut right from Marcuses speech except it’s with Conner. Overall great job restoring this scene, it was pretty cool to see so long after the game came out
HOLY SHIT This is bringing me back to 2018 rn Thank you so much for finding, restoring and uploading all this Detroit content, you're throwing me right back and I'm loving it. I was hugely into detroit in 2018/19 and this is so epic to see. I'm not sure why they took this out of the game. Without it, it just ends super abruptly. And it really makes those tentative steps onto the stage a whole lot more meaningful. It makes me want a sequel even more. I've read a ton of fanfics that are sequels of the game, but honestly I've never found one with this ending. And I feel like there would've been more if this speech was involved. I think Dechart's delivery is great as well. His voice is definitely different and more emotional than "android Connor" and I really enjoy it. Thanks so much again for uploading this. Btw, this did remind me of another reason I hate the ending anyway - look at the crowd, oh god. It's so laughable and ironic that he, or markus in the other ending, is saying "we are people, we are alive!" when all the androids in the background are stood like statues as if they've all just been deactivated again ahaha. They really ran out of energy by the end of the game to at least have them in different positions T-T the fact that this is at the 'big moment' of the end of the game, with the androids being freed, is so unfortunate.
I think it's a shame this cutscene was cut, but it makes sense, to get this, so many things that are unlikely to happen must happen, and so few people would see it

Feels like a wasted plot twist for connor to do this speech. The deviant hunter leading the revolution is an awesome concept. But I think they chose not to have this ending because connors voice is soft whereas markus can really boom.
Hank could be considered the human that altered the destiny of an entire civilization. And in doing so, Hank found something so much more important, he found a colleague, a friend, and in the end.........a son.
Wish they had done an option with Connor doing his own speech showing he was skeptical and yet found why he should be a deviant... Keep the ama da choice, but have the option of Connor shooting the AI (killing the comply or die option) and then the escape (but possibly slightly harder tasks to reboot).
I’m glad that we’re able to listen to Connor’s speech, but also that it was cut. As powerful as the speech was, it didn’t fit his character and especially that he would shoot himself at the end of a speech.

Was quite shocked by that, as at that moment there was no info about this in the internet

@@hamers61 in the very first PC version of the game, it was very shattery and constantly freezing (because of my slow HDD too), so in that very moment in the game the image froze again and I was able to hear Connor's speech for a couple of seconds. Was quite shocked by that, as at that moment there was no info about this in the internet
