That's why people don't like how much celebrity actors have moved into voice acting roles. Specifically, actors with little to no experience voice acting getting the parts over the voice actors that have played them for years. Not to point fingers, but the newly announced Mario movie with Chris Pratt as Mario has some people mad.

And second, it really would be the DEA that would handle a case of drug smuggling. They could of course ask the FBI for assistance but they'd be the ones in charge of the investigation.

It's pretty accurate to the real X-Files show. Mulder is relegated to working out of the basement and regarded with scorn by his fellow agents for that very reason. The sceptical Scully was only assigned to be his partner so that the FBI could disprove Mulder's theories once and for all, thereby forcing him to take on "normal" investigations.

Mulder always seems to exude “I’m hot shit” energy on the X files, so I think it made sense he would be posing in a Speedo in his ID that he shows to everybody. It’s hilarious.

I get such a cozy vibe outta this. Something from a time when people didn't argue endlessly on the internet, and each piece of entertainment wasn't endlessly scrutinized online. Something from before Twitter, facebook, 9-11. Those were simpler times. It seems like a century ago.
I wish I was born in the earlier 90s I was sadly just born in 98 I never sadly got to experience those better times but not everything about the 2000 was bad there was a lot of stuff I got into Halo gears of war call of duty Fallout battlefield like so many awesome games and then watching other movies like marvel films and TV shows were also good that the '90s didn't sadly have yet.
Gillian Anderson's performance in this is so good. It's definitely "Scully", but the comic timing is tuned just that little bit - even the slight pause in "Well- Gee Mulder, there's also this report of drugs and illegal weapons coming into New Jersey tonight." is just right.
Makes you wonder why Mulder & Scully are so skeptical about Homers encounter when they were literally looking at a line of aliens with him in there LOL.
The only backlash they got, as I recall, was Paul Fusco asking why they didn't so much as call him. Since they went and got the X-files people already and all...
This and the monorail episode are easily my favorite "celebrity guest star" episodes of The Simpsons. Usually the normal episodes far outclass these kind, but these 2 were just brilliant.

As a kid because of their serious tone of voice, I thought they were playing it straight. Now I'm old and I can hear the more subtle jokes and self-parody they're using. ^^
The sequence with Grandpa and the turtle may be the funniest thing I've ever seen.
