Do you know the story between Rodney and Johnny?? Johnny would not let Rodney on his show for a very long time. they were fighting over something that Rodney said and would not apologize about. but finally Johnny gave in and let him on
The one about Mexico that went over your head... They say dont drink the water in Mexico or it'll give you the runs, (diarrhea). Rodney's so old that he doesn't get the runs - he gets the walks. You saw Caddyshack and don't remember Rodney??? He was the rich, pain in the butt guy who was always driving Ted Knight crazy. I don't remember Ted's character's name but he was the other rich snob that didn't like HIS kind. Hilarious movie. Easy Money, Back To School and several others are classics! Love Rodney Dangerfield RIP
The great Rodney Dangerfield. He'd go on Johnny Carson and all Johnny would have to do is just sit there and listen for 5-10 minutes without ever saying a word. He was a joke machine.
One time when I was in Las Vegas, I had the chance to catch Rodney's act live on stage. I never laughed so hard in my life. I was still laughing at a one-liner and he was already 5 more one-liners down the road. His one-liners were so funny that I couldn't keep up with them. And, it must be said, he didn''t say one curse word the whole time. There were a whole lot of innuendoes though.
Rodney Dangerfield is an old New Yorker. And life there used to be tough and interesting. He gets his jokes from living there. Some of his jokes, people might not get nowadays. For Native New Yorkers, New York was a tough and unforgiving place.
Mark Twain…. George Carlin…. Groucho Marx…. Rodney Dangerfield… Richard Pryor…. Red Foxx.... Funniest Humorist/Comedians of all time. Nobody was safe from their honest brilliant sarcasm. .
Watch Back to School and Caddyshack. You get the full Rodney Dangerfield effect from those movies. I think he had the perfect combo of appearance, delivery, and material. He was born to tell those jokes.
Rodney is a fucking legend! He had/has a comedy club called "Dangerfields", he launched the careers of many, many great comedians. You could make jokes like this before everyone was offended by EVERYTHING.
"My old man, I told him I'm tired of running around in circles. So he nailed my other foot to the floor." A comedian I really like is Emo Phillips, but I seem to be in a minority. This clip is called 'Childhood': th-cam.com/video/PeYKfekDMsg/w-d-xo.html
Rodney was one of my all-time favorite stand-up comedians. Another you may want to try is Sam Kinison. A former preacher turned "the other direction". He's a bit raunchy, but his delivery is very over the top funny. Really like your channel. A lot of fun to watch.
It's wonderful that young folks are discovering real humor. You can tell exaggerations and pick on people good naturedly then without every one getting so offended. And notice that he puts himself down as much as anyone else! Cracks me up!!
i enjoy watching you as a young person, who understandibly aren't familiar with the geniuses that have come befrore you. but having fun listening.....keep and open mind..
So glad you enjoyed,..some of those were later in his career,..the background looked like,."A Night At The Improv",..a comedy club ..had been around for a while, but then they started televising the show,..and Rodney was on there a lot,..Bob Saget,..Sam Kinison,..who by the way was in a crazy movie with Rodney,.Back To School,(kid from scary movie Christine, about a killer car, Keith Gordon, and Adrienne Barbieu from live action CowboyBebop, who plays as his wife, and those wife jokes come to life in the movie, they exchange all kinds of insults).crazy funny scene with each other,..but that show so many comedians cut their teeth as they say on that show,..maybe you can get it on here, on TH-cam,..the older videos, where he looks super young, were probably on Ed Sullivan show,..and the scene where he's sitting at a table, across from him is Dean Martin, who had a show,..but also had the Roasts shows,..which were hilarious,..all,..and every comedian known to man and still living at the time was on there at some point in time,..Red Foxx(very raunchy, dirty, salty,), Red Buttons,..Red Skelton, Milton Berle(he was too crazy),..Don Rickles,.Ruth Buzzi, Phyllis Diller,..good lord she was crazy,..and the outlandish outfits and hair, kid, you got plenty of shows and footage to crack you up,..Your Show of Shows, Sid Ceasar, Imogene Coca,..Ernie Kovacks,..enjoy,..do check out Easy Money too, movie with Joe Pesci, from all those gangster movies, ..and Caddyshack,..Godspeed, Peace ✌
He was HILARIOUS! Guy’s lyke him, are few and far between, don’t matter what he says, don’t matter who he hurts, sumbody out there, may hav hada bad day, but guy’s lyke Rodney, could, make U smile, laugh, (and he has), until U hav tears, when U experience that, yor day will be better 😎😎😎👍👍
You poor kid.. I know this was posted a year ago but you didn't understand a lot of the best ones! His comedy was reliant upon the context of the time. Making fat jokes has been a national pastime since the very beginning up until about 7-8 years ago. I'm a fat guy; I haven't always been a fat guy... I used to be just a fat kid. I grew up hearing fat jokes all the time. They affected me a great deal but I pushed through. Believe it or not, one day I woke up and I just... didn't care anymore. I still don't. But I digress. Rodney's humor was so so SO good. Loved the reaction brother!
Young man, back then people weren't so "sensitive", didn't get offended easily, and didn't feel the need to apologize all the time. The term "snowflake" didn't exist because there were no snowflakes... Hello from São Paulo, Brazil 🇧🇷.
The joke about Mexico was that he was so old he got the walks instead of the runs. Getting intestinal problems from drinking the water in Mexico was a comedy thing back then.
I wish you had watched one of his sets, instead of a bunch of random clips. I know they are almost all very quick jokes, but he still had a flow, as every comic does, and watching a single performance is a far better experience. It puts you there watching his craft, instead of all cut up. I say this as a former comic myself, and someone who has studied comedy for decades.
Lee Evans is the best physical comedian and a musician, he ends every show with an original song (apart from when he interpretive danced Bohemian Rhapsody. He was also in There's something about Mary and the Doctor who special Planet of the dead. I'm in pain after watching all his videos and now I have all his DVD's. Sadly he's retired from touring to be with his family at 50 odd but still seems to do the odd theatre play/comedy.
Younger people don't get the joke about kidnapping and wanting more proof than a finger tip. It's a reference to the 1974 kidnapping of the grandson of J.Paul Getty, whose kidnappers sliced off an ear as proof of his captivity.
U should also check out comedians Mel Brooks..Richard Pryor..Eddie Murphy..Sinbad (esp his take on rela-tionships & marriage)..& singing comic Stephen Lynch..som of the rauchyst & funniest songs youve ever heard..like “Queer Tattoo”..”No Meat”..”Lullaby”.. “Gerbil”..& “Special Ed”..to name a few
He is one of the few people that I’ve ever seen make Johnny Carson practically fall out of his chair from laughing so hard.
Do you know the story between Rodney and Johnny?? Johnny would not let Rodney on his show for a very long time. they were fighting over something that Rodney said and would not apologize about. but finally Johnny gave in and let him on
Rodney Dangerfield was hilarious in the classic 80's comedy BACK TO SCHOOL. A young, unknown co-star named Robert Downey Jr. was funny as hell, too.
Sam Kinison was amazing in that movie!
WILLIAM ZABKA also, better known as Johnny in the Karate Kid and Cobra Kai series.
When I was young back in the 60s these used to show on the old time steam powered wooden television set
One of the great things about Rodney is that he gave so many of the younger comedians their start in stand-up.
Dude! The first step in reacting to a comedy act........Never drink anything when watching a Rodney Dangerfield bit! lol
Saw this guy in Dallas, back in the 1970s … my face hurt from laughing! What a great show!
You need to do some Don Rickles . Awesomeness
Yes!!!
👍🔥
The one about Mexico that went over your head...

You don't hear about getting sick from drinking the water in Mexico as much as you did in 1980. I think that's why he didn't get it.
or the trots
His generation doesn't get anything @theclearsounds3911
He was a winner of a comedian…he was an actor that made it look easy,to. He was in “ Back to School” and “ Ladybugs”… both funny.
“A little nonsense now and then, relished by the wisest men.”
The great Rodney Dangerfield. He'd go on Johnny Carson and all Johnny would have to do is just sit there and listen for 5-10 minutes without ever saying a word. He was a joke machine.
Rodney Dangerfield was a comedic genius, who got his start (a less-than-stellar start) as a teenager in the vaudeville era.
that's saying it mildly, when he first quit show business the only one who knew he quit was himself.
Rodney - heard them hundred times and I still laugh . His delivery is great. You need to watch his movie "Easy Money" and the rest of them .
Rodney Dangerfield, Richard Pryor, Don Rickles, and George Carlin are my Mt. Rushmore of stand-up comedy
1st tape my parents confiscated from me was Dangerfield in early 80's! Still riff off of him all the time! One of the GOATS!
lol

I was still laughing at a one-liner and he was already 5 more one-liners down the road. His one-liners were so funny that I couldn't keep up with them. You should check out some Abbott and Costello. Legendary comedy! 😂
Rodney Dangerfield is an old New Yorker. And life there used to be tough and interesting. He gets his jokes from living there. Some of his jokes, people might not get nowadays. For Native New Yorkers, New York was a tough and unforgiving place.
There are no violations. It's called comedy
It was a very different time, people didnt get all offended by everything like they do today
Mark Twain…. George Carlin…. Groucho Marx…. Rodney Dangerfield… Richard Pryor…. Red Foxx.... Funniest Humorist/Comedians of all time. Nobody was safe from their honest brilliant sarcasm. .
Jack Benny and Bob Hope.
I grew up laughing with this very funny man. He’s a comedy genius

I love George Carlin and Rodney Dangerfield. Also, I had lots of fun watching you laugh. So thanks and keep them coming.
Rodney was the master of the 'One Liner'.
You need to react to Steven Wright. He has a hilarious dry sense of humor.
What's really funny is some of these jokes went right over your head!
Well to be fair they were coming fast and furious. Rodney Dangerfield was one of a kind. Comic genius.
It's partly an age thing...
The inscription on Rodney Dangerfield's grave reads "There goes the neighborhood."
Great video. You should check out Abbot and Costello’s : Who’s on first. A baseball skit that’s one of the great comedy routines of all time.😎👍
One of the most famous comedians that ever lived. Also had a comedy club in nyc called dangerfields.
"My old man, I told him I'm tired of running around in circles. So he nailed my other foot to the floor."
A comedian I really like is Emo Phillips, but I seem to be in a minority.

See back in the day people didn't get offended by every little thing, like fat jokes.
Or ugly jokes
younger generation needs to get real. Comedy is Comedy and should always be Comedy

On Caddyshack, you might remember his line “last time I saw a mouth like that it had a Hook in it”
Yeah, have to have a few brains upstairs to keep up with his one-liners✌🏽☮️🤪😂😵💫🥴🤲🙏
Hey Silas. --- try some George Carlin next comedy review !!! This was good. Gotta remember pre Karen / Ken era !! Rodneys one of the best !!! 😎

Actually, snowflakes did exist back then... they happened every winter. 🙂
Love Rodney Dangerfield!!
The joke about Mexico was that he was so old he got the walks instead of the runs. Getting intestinal problems from drinking the water in Mexico was a comedy thing back then.
Peeps weren’t sensitive about the way they looked. We all had some issues. Loved the clips
The best one that doesn't get heard much: "Why I know I'm ugly. When my dog humps my leg it has to close its eyes."
Rodney is the king of the one-liners!...😂😂😂❤
React to Don Rickles next!
"Back to School" is hilarious too!
You got to watch a movie he was in called Easy Money it’s a very funny movie
Legendary!👍
No one ever seems to get " the walks", if you were younger you'd get "the runs"!!
The movie you should see is Back to school. He was great in it. I think it's called Back to school.
Haha yeah... Your face when you don't get one of his jokes is friggen priceless... Haha
Sam Kinison.....have you heard of him?

His part in the film "natural born killers " is amaizing...
Check it out.
He was the entire package.
Fun!
Don’t be sensitive or apologize for the insults. This is real humor - very funny.
You picked a good one! Caddyshack made my sides hurt.

Rodney wasn't in caddyshack2 just the first movie.
Younger people don't get the joke about kidnapping and wanting more proof than a finger tip. It's a reference to the 1974 kidnapping of the grandson of J.Paul Getty, whose kidnappers sliced off an ear as proof of his captivity.
W.C. Fields. Abbott and Costello (Who's on First?). Buster Keaton. Monty Python (The Argument Clinic). Mr. Bean. Blackadder.
he was a great funny guy, he is maybe the king of the one liner jokes
Not only was he in Caddyshack Too, but he was in the first one as well.
That was Jakie Mason, not Rodney Dangerfield in the second one.
@@sparky6086 Jackie gleason, but I get your point.
Rodney wasn't in that one, they were both before my time so I have only seen them in snapshots.
Or I am an idiot and it was Jackie Mason?
I mean, I've never heard of Jackie Mason, but he was before my time, I mean I'm only 46.
Shit dog, he's a classic!
"What's da Matta kid to fast for ya"
U should also check out comedians Mel Brooks..Richard Pryor..Eddie Murphy..Sinbad (esp his take on rela-tionships & marriage)..& singing comic Stephen Lynch..som of the rauchyst & funniest songs youve ever heard..like “Queer Tattoo”..”No Meat”..”Lullaby”..
