Very interesting video! My yard is full of ruts and boggy. I'm trying to figure out a way to fix it and this video helped me realize that it's going to take an expert!! Great work!! God will bless you!
Thanks for the great comment! Hope you can find the right person to help you out! I have some other yard grading videos you should check out. Main thing is to get the grade correct for proper surface sheet flow. If that's not doable then French drains can work. But sheet flow is better and doesn't fail.
water will carry the stone down hill. it's better to start at the bottom where you may potentially have more stone to work with. it's saves you from cutting into the clay and removing to much base. good job trying to get the roots out. those will destroy the pavement if they do it. brice is awesome. overall good job. looks great.

Good video!, I bid on a 2020 ASV RT50 Friday. It went pretty cheap but I let it go.. wasn't sure if I'd like one without a foot throttle and I wasn't sure how big the cab was. It was 3 hours away.. I like the commentary nobody's going to watch a show where somebody don't say anything. Keep up the good work
Thanks for the comment! What did it sell for? I run this 40 full throttle all the time so the foot pedal isn't a must for me. The cab is a little tight, I'm short but my knees are usually sore after a day from pushing to keep my butt in the seat. Thanks for the advice on commentary it's hard to find a happy medium that everyone is pleased with!
Foot throttles on Skid steer's are terrible if your using it for anything but loading. I don't even know if foot throttles are that common any more. I don't think Kubota or Bobcat use them. I know our CAT 299D3 skid steer that I have at work doesn't have a foot throttle.
Two questions Neil, sorry to bug you again 🤣 1) what is the compactor you’re using? 2) if you recall, how long would you say it took you to compact this driveway?
@@Fayettepropertysolutions no problem at all I enjoy chatting on my videos! The compactor is a Weber MT. They're German and better than wacker in my opinion. I can't recall exactly but probably 45 minutes? It always seems like an eternity but when I check my watch it's quicker than it feels. I rent a roller sometimes but the time it takes to go to rental shop, pickup and drop off it's usually less time to plate it. And the plate packs harder than a 36" double drum roller in my opinion. I just think of it like pushing mowing a lawn. And it's not hard to push it moves itself for the most part.
@@Fayettepropertysolutions thanks for the comment! It's been a good machine. I'm about to have to replace tracks at about 1000 hours due to drive lugs on the inside getting worn down/broken off. And I replaced the torsion bar axles around 750 hours which I wasn't happy about. It was owned by a tree service for the first 500 hours and I think they ran it on pavement a lot loading a chipper. Otherwise the machine is nice and has been great for what I do.
Nice finish and video. I love your format for the videos you produce. Introduction, body, and conclusion; English 101. Could your power rake cut those ruts in the driveway or were they too deep? Happy New Year to you Neal.
Hey thanks Jeff! I was thinking you'd like this one when I was working on it! I thought about the power rake but being so wet i thought it would have gotten caked up. After doing the job I realized there wasn't much stone there to begin with and I hit dirt pretty quick.
Yes it did! It used 3, 5amp hour batteries and about 1/2 of a 3ah battery. Granted the batteries did sit in the truck below freezing overnight. But overall I'm very happy with it. Just got it on Black Friday sale along with a couple others to add to my makita collection. Thanks for watching and the comment!
Awesome thank you! I'll try to keep good content but I'm a little slow this winter. I'm getting ready to place about 1000cy of dirt for a house pad though.
Thanks for the comment Doug! I used to run a tractor but man, once I started running a skid I got so much faster at both grading and shuttling materials. I did build a land plane for this machine and it works great! I brought it with me on this job but didn't use it. Check out the build in this video if you want to th-cam.com/video/DWhy-xlhsO0/w-d-xo.htmlsi=VNppB26d6QY7FXb6
Thanks for the comment, fortunately I can take my time only thing I was racing here was daylight! I didn't get started till 11 or so cause the truck driver was busy in the morning. So not bad for 4-1/2 hours of work. One hour was just plate tamping lol.
Great content great work great video and the comment about being talkative and getting her done faster don’t understand the concept or reasoning behind these videos

Love this video! Any driveway grading is the best with the skid steer!
Rewatched! Another great video, great content, great channel! I absolutely love driveway repairs or refreshes!
Researched again, love gravel driveway maintenance, ditch work, grading of the ground, box blade or Harley rake... Love the content!
Thanks Aaron! Another one coming out soon.
Rewarched again, one my all time favs. skid steer usage and driveway work!
Thanks Aaron! Working on another today & tomorrow. A parking pad and a shed pad and widening a driveway.
@@NealORussa looking forward to it!
Rewatched! Love the skid steer action scraping the ground....
Absolutely a favorite!

Thanks so much for the comment! Good call on stealing stone from the bottom of the hill. Yes Bryce is my favorite trucker to call!
Great job.

does the rt 40 dig up asphalt easy what is it like 4000 pounds this thing
The RT40 has a lot of power. With this tooth bucket there's no problem tearing out asphalt driveways once you get a corner started.
Instead of talking about it get it done geez you people are so talkative the faster you get things done the quicker you can move on to the next job
