i am 50 years of age now and feeling so happy that i saw iron maiden twice live in concert, in the 80's, in Belgium, forest national in Brussels, the powerslave tour and the 'somewhere in time" tour, ever gratefull!
YES!!! You guys played it!! Woooo my favorite version of this song for sure. That is the most epic build up and explosion into a eargasmic double solo ever done live! And this version in particular with the pyrotechnics, 3 guitars and the guys jumping up and down just makes it so much more epic imho. Its the best version ive seen gives me f..ing goosebumps every single time! I honestly rewind it back to that part and into Adrians face melting solo 10 times everytime i listen to it lol. For the next 3 face melting solos.. Paschendale!!! Studio version. Rock on guys Up The Irons!
Out of all the songs by Iron Maiden I consider " rime of the ancient mariner " the best song ever. I've been a fan since the 80s. What i like about their songs is that every song is based an literature.
My favourite song from Maiden ever. It's epic, and the way it switches pace is brilliant, and it always gets me pumped up when riffs get heavy after the middle quiet section of the song. Great reaction guys, keep up the good work.
I was introduced to Iron Maiden in 1987 in the back of the high school bus...being played on some kid's boombox for all to enjoy... I'm so glad for that.... I'm happy to see anyone hearing it for the first time. Great reactions.
I've loved Iron Maiden since 1982. I love their older stuff too but, I love it a lot more when Bruce is singing. Love love love me some Iron Maiden!!!!!!
We were junior high/high school metal heads, and Maiden was hitting their peak (early to mid eighties). What drew us was their epic songs based on the things were were studying - history, poetry, mythology. They were talented musicians, but masters at putting learning and metal together. Heavy and fun, but serious. That's Maiden in a nutshell to me.
I'm 50 yrs old and just NOW I'M GETTING IN TO MAIDEN😬....What have I been missing, I've always been into Zeppelin and Deep purple etc but Maiden re energized this 50 year old 🤘🤟 A salute to the Rock Gods and A salute to the Metal Gods⚡
Great reaction, guys. And I keep urging you to listen to Revelations, even because you go on the concert and the song has been played on the current tour. Thus... #ironmaiden Revelations Greetings from Brazil
When see that. They have 3 co- lead guitarist in the band. .. that’s their old songs are great.. they still kick ass live ✌️🤘 anything Iron Maiden. I’m tuning in and smashing that like button hard💯.. ❤️✌️🤘god bless you both 💯
When in my teens back in the early 1980s I mostly listened to film scores, classical and some rock courtesy of my older brother...I was in the back seat of a car out with some friends when I first heard Judas Priest - Hellion / Electric Eye for the first time!! It was a personal revelation...I've never looked back. 😎👍
Best version of this song for sure, seen them live a few times since 2010. Iron Maiden is a special kind of band, bands like this are once in a lifetime. I'm gonna keep being a pain in the ass and requesting Sanctuary by Elder :p
Guys, that shit was LIVE! That is what a perfect live show looks like! And as a musician and Maiden listener going back to the 80's, I don't think the mistakes were mistakes. I think it was them giving a bit more edginess to the song, bringing the notes more forward on the beat.
Yeah, the Live After Death footage is brilliant. I've seen Maiden many times over the years but for me they were at their absolute best on the Powerslave tour.
@@LionMetalMusic-videochannel Even thigh Bruce's voice wasn't on its absolute best on that concert its one of their greatest live DVDs still. Also the Rock in Río and En Vivo are fantastic.
Guys guys...Iron Maiden is the best Band of the multiverse.PERIOD! And since my #birthday is next week on the 29, I have 2 song for you #IronMaiden The Prisoner (The song that got me into Maiden and in Metal in general back in 1983) AND #Megadeth Play for Blood.
I was fortunate enough to have seen 'Maiden on this tour. One thing about the performance for this song that is not visible in the Flight 666 video is that they had the entire lighting rig on a gimble so that during this song, during the slow section, where the poem is recited, the entire lighting rig is slowly swaying from left to right like the masts of sailing ship. I can't accurately put into words what it was like to witness that. People will say the 'Live After Death' version was better... I don't know I wasn't there for that. But this performance, on this tour was something special to witness live.
And Bruce Dickinson (the singer) was head coach for the UK Olympic fencing team. And don't forget he is also a commercial-rated airline pilot. So many polymaths in the metal scene.
There is no equal. Iron Maiden is unrivaled in the realm of bringing their product to the stage. Rich, you are absolutley correct about this live version blowing the studio production out the window.
You two are awesome! My wife and I love all the reactions. Growing up in the 70s and 80s, bands like Iron Maiden, Metallica and Halloween got me through some really bad times. From Here to Eternity is a great Iron Maiden song and it would be so cool to see your reaction to it. Thanks for all the cool vids!!
OK pay attention Iron Maiden's 2022 World tour starts in March in the UK (home base) and then to Europe after that US/Canada etc... just check their website it's The Legacy of the Beast tour.
This one is the first song I heard in a Maiden concert in 2008 in Bogota-Colombia, from this tour Somewhere back in time tour. Sadly I just get in in the middle of the concert and in the calm part of the song... But in 2009 they do the same show once again and the entire show was mine! Up the Irons
Hi Kel n Rich, new UK subscriber just giving you a thumbs up for your reaction videos, loved Maiden most of my life and it’s great to share others passion for real metal music ‘Up The Irons’ 🤘🏼🤘🏼🤘🏼🤘🏼🤘🏼🤘🏼
I know this is a reaction vid and all, but that woman is simply stunning. Not in a supermodel kind of way, but in a girl-next-door kind of way. Her smile alone can probably bring world peace, end hunger, or both.
Wow !!!!! This was recorded at the IZOD Center in East Rutherford , NJ. I live 5 minutes from this arena. I've seen so many bands like MetallicA , Motley Crue , KISS , ect. there. I now work next door at MetLife Stadium. By the way the IZOD Center has been closed for a few years now.
Close your eyes and listen to this, the creaking sounds like the ropes tightening as the wind catches the sails....become one of the wedding guests as the mariner tells his tale
It's been 30+ years since seeing them in Houston at the Summit..thanks Rich n Kel...you've got me searching and finding they'll be here in Sept...😎 ROAD TRIP?...Lol

#metalchickpick #sign of the cross Rio # Knoxville,TN. Basically the whole second half of the song is one big instrumental like no other and you can tell they're having a blast during the whole thing.
I hope you'll one day soon get to "Dance of Death" from the En Vivo live concert series. It's my favorite post-2000 song from the group and a fantastic performance.
#solitudeaternus Scent of Death Watertown New York. I discovered this band was at late into their career and tragically have now disbanded. The best doom band along with Candlemass and both have shared this singer whom has sang in other projects.
Fastest click and like remember Suggesting this right at the beginning so glad you finally got round to it loving the channel 😁 I actually went to this tour in England aswell it was an amazing show with Avenged sevenfold Supporting another band I hope you check out SOON!!
I play drums in a rock band and the amount of times I’ve come off stage thinking ‘shit, I can’t believe how badly I played’ only to have others tell me they thought it was flawless. I like people who just get lost in the experience.
Had to click and watch no matter how many times i heard that song... great job guys!!!.... Maybe someday you'll play a song i sggested.... Maaaaaaaybe?....lol
The reason some of the rhythm parts sound a bit off compared to normal, is because the "new" guitarist Janick Gears is not a tight as Dave Murray & Adrian Smith. Sometimes he unplugs his guitar in order to let the others do their thing, while he adds the energy to their stage performance (Which I don't mind) Hope to see you react to #IronMaiden Seventh Son of a Seventh Son (live) th-cam.com/video/kQsdyMwjXfY/w-d-xo.html
Well, this version has 3 guitars (Dave, Adrian and Janick) as opposed to the album and earlier live versions, where there are just 2 guitars (Dave and Adrian)...
Anything maiden live is always epic.. 💯🤘....fun fact: the singer piolted the 747 durning the 666 tour .. amazing to me .. the band had a 747 to travel badass on level you can’t imagine .. but earned over 30 years always great performance. Up the irons 🇺🇸🇻🇬 . British metal kicks ass to this day 💯❤️✌️🤘
Probably the greatest metal song ever created.
Best live band on the planet.
