    1. 800 nits brightness vs 625
    2. Telephoto Lens + Lidar that may have future apps that could be revolutionary.
    3. much better build - matte finish, stainless steel
    4. 6 GB RAM vs 4 GB RAM
    5. ApplePRO RAW.. yes this may not be useful for most
    6. 4K 60 fps vs 30 fps in HDR mode.. I'll agree this is also pretty eclectic
I think I'll gladly spend the extra $150 to get the pro.
I disagree with the "might as well jump from pro to pro max because of the small price difference".... That is more determined by size that one is comfortable with rather than the few additional features of the pro max. I personally opted for the smaller iphone 12 pro this time because the 11 pro max was too big and heavy for me, as will the 12 pro max. Price was not an issue

I cannot figure out why nobody is talking about the RAM. The amount of times I’ve moved from one app to another on my iPhone 8 and have it refresh on me is inconceivable. I feel like 6GB will endure future updates way better than the 4GB models.

    • @lbb1621
      @lbb1621 4 ปีที่แล้ว

I think it depends on how often you plan to replace your phone. 2-3 years and the bump to 6GB might not be worth it given how powerful the A14 is hyped to be. If you plan to buy a new phone today, and not again for another 4-5 years then 4GB might be insufficient that apps will be designed with a more powerful chip and higher standards of RAM by then.

I feel both pros should’ve been identical in spec. It’s kinda unfair that your choice can’t just come down to size. The 12 and 12 mini are only differentiated by physical size. (And battery life due to size difference)

I'm going with the 12 Pro coming from my XS Max for a couple reasons. 1. It lighter. I wear athletic shorts a lot and my XS Max literally pulls my shorts down, and also causes the phone to slam into my leg and knee, depending on how deep my pockets are. This even happens if I tighten my shorts to the max of my drawstrings. The 12 Pro Max is even bigger and heavier. I would like the nice big screen, but I also have small fingers. I would love the extra camera features of the Pro Max, but I honestly don't take that many photos on it, other than my animals. I have a Nikon D7500 for other stuff. 2. I like how I'm in the middle of the camera pack with the phones. The pro being a little better than the regular 12, and not as good as the Max because the weight and size are something I need to lessen. So that equals out for me. 3. My wife has the XR and I think it has the same size screen as the Pro, so I messed around with her's, and it feels perfectly comfortable. So yeah, Going with the Pro. Pre-ordered the Ocean Blue. Will be at my door on November 4th.

  • @Handsome347

There is a quiet difference between those phones including the price. Apple charging extra 30$ for unlocked iPhone 12 where they don't charge for unlocked Pro version, so the difference in price is actually 120$ between 128 Gb iPhone 12 and 128 Gb iPhone 12 Pro. For me, 120$ is justified, just like extra 100$ will be justified for someone to go with iPhone pro 12 MAX. Here is why it's justified for me: 1, overall the look and the color of the Pro is much better for me than regular 12. The color of 12 reminds me colors of iPhone SE. Ill pick pacific blue any day over any regular 12 color. 2. The screen, while its the same screen, the bigness of this screen isn't the same, and if you live in sunshine states, it's a good perk to have (800 nits vs 625). 3. I do like to shoot videos Dolby Vision in 60fps over 30fps, I don't do cinematic vids, so 60fps is much better option for me (at least having this option for most scenarios). 4. Camera, camera on pro is also much better and future proof in pair with LIDAR you get an awesome automatic focus without loosing a light and a color. 5. You do get 6 Gb of RAM, and developers do get and have access to use that extra resource, so its not just for the camera. 6. Bezels on Pro is slightly slimmer than on regular 12 and the back of the phone isn't glassy like on regular 12. Overall both phones are great, but I do prefer to go with Pro, not MAX (even I do think extra 100$ is totally justified spending, its just to big for me and I don't do crazy shoots all day long for TH-cam). I think Pro is a best option for me.

Ok then you get 5G and 120hz chewing away your battery life it will be dead in 2-3 hours from a full charge. What is the point of that? If you buy the iPhone 12 unlocked, the difference between the 128GB model with the basic 12 Pro is only $120. For that amount you get a steel frame, a tele lens, LIDAR scanner, Dolby HDR 60 Hz (instead of 30 Hz), night mode portrait, proraw format, and 6GB RAM (instead of 4). The telephoto and the RAM alone is worth $120 extra.
Apple knows that most people will think that the 12 is the best value like the 11 was, so it will be the best seller. In reality the best value this year is the 12 Pro.

since the release of the iphoneX, i feel like every iphone since then has been the same.. sure there’s a few changes like screen size, resolution, camera etc but nothing that stands out for me.. they seem to think a brand new colour is enough of a feature to make people upgrade lmao.
also what’s w the squared edges now?? we literally had that like 10 years ago it was changed for a reason, the edges look so horrible too once you drop the phone and they dent in🤢🤢, also no charger now!?
i’m starting to realise that apple do in fact con us compared to other smart phone companies who’s phones are much cheaper and bring out multiple new features every release.

The Pro Max is not worth any extra money to me. Three camera upgrades. 65mm telephoto vs 52mm, I prefer the non max 52mm; 50mm gives the natural view, every photographer needs a 50mm in their bag, plus it is f2.0 which is faster than the Max tele. An inbody stabilized main lens. The lens on the Pro is OIS (stabilized in lens). Good enough for me. A bigger sensor on the main camera. I am curious if they are using the same lens as on the other iPhones and have not heard any different. I am suspicious there won't be much of a benefit to a larger sensor if not using a matching lens. Meanwhile the 12Pro I can use one handed and carry around easier. I won't trade off one handed use for a better camera, especially when I don't see much of an improvement there. Even if the larger sensor does improve low light (time will tell), it is not enough for me to buy a more expensive, heavier, bigger phone. If ease of carry and one handed use are not important to you, then it may be worth $100 for better battery life and a larger sensor. I wouldn't plunk down the exta $100 for the sensor until seeing the results however.

Extra ram, more storage, extra camera, pro raw, slightly better little extras. I think that’s worth the $150. I can’t speak for everyone but 150 isn’t a lot. I think this Will make more regular people buy the iPhone 12 Pro vs reg 12. I think that’s why Apple made the 12 more expensive to push more people to buy the slightly more expensive pro model. I plan on getting the 12 pro instead of the 12 promax simply because I don’t want the bigger phone.
Based on the announcement, I don’t think the upgraded camera on the Pro Max will make all that much of a difference. The iPhone is already just as good if not better than many phones that have larger sensors. Hopefully next year they bring the better sensor down to the 12th bro

Coming from the iphone 6, silver, bc black was apparently too hard back then. Apple goofed by not making the 12 pro smaller than then 12. Simple as that, and, didnt give 12 pro a better battery. They like, dissed the 12 pro, twice. Can't they see that a "sweet spot" exists where you want to use your phone 1 handed, a lot, and have 200 dollars of extra battery? Forget the 120 hz and all that, The 12 pro is not smaller than the 12, its larger than the 11 pro, and that's the misfire, where the "mini" is just TOO small and the SE is too basic. Like, 11 pro is that sweet spot, and they strayed from that, the wrong way too. "we upped the 12 pro's size, while reducing the 12's size, because..." would be like a good convo they could have. 0.4" Screen size isnt worth making the phone harder to hold 1 handed and pull in and out of your pocket.

120hz displays drain the battery life more and with the smaller battery in the 12 pro it just wasn’t the best idea to add it in the first place
I’d only see the best use for the 120hz display for diehard gamers but even then, I’d much prefer the bigger screen of an iPad over an iPhone with the 120hz display if it was for gaming

If you missed the right spot because you put the phone down wrong on the charger go to Amazon get a wireless charging stand that’s not Apple that has the multiple charging coils instead of just 1 plus Amazon chargers are cheaper and will save you money over apple chargers. Why would anyone want to have to pry your magnetic charger off the phone every time you pick up the phone? You didn't mention how over time the magnetic charger will cause wear on a glass back phone because the aluminum ring makes contact with the glass.

I personally want the pro for the true telephoto lens (yes I use it enough to justify it), 6gb of ram, base storage is higher on the pro vs the regular 12. Big fan of your videos. I have a small question about purchasing an iPhone. I currently have an iPhone X, and I am considering wanting to upgrade for multiple reasons. Including I have always wanted an iPhone with night mode and I am a bit obsessed with the new blue color. However, my current version plan does not include 5G in the plan (which I honestly don't care that much about), and I am not sure if I want to add it because it's 2020 and it is too new. Therefore, I was wondering if you know if I could purchase the phone in full from apple and just put in my Verizon sim card from my current iPhone without having to pay for 5G? Which would probably improve the battery life without the process of the phone going back and forth between 4G and 5G. If you don't currently know, please try and let me know once you receive the phones. Or do you think I should not bother upgrading at all and just keep my iPhone X for one more year?
