I saw them in a small club in Northeast, Ohio with Story Of The Year. I wish I could go back, they were on fire that day! I remember being really impressed by SOTY too!
even tho the song is old, you can still feel the emotion in it. truley excellent music. i miss stutterfly. secret and whisper has huge shoes to fill, so far they're doing it, but i think that they really need to step it up to ever be rememebred as much as the old group
I was only like 13 when I went to see them in Spokane for the 1st time. Had a dream about the song "Gun in Hand" last night, and immediately scrambled to remember the bands name this morning. And he we are, nearly 2 decades later!
@joelkepler4111 I came here to see if anyone local remembers them. Lewiston for me too. Remember them playing in that warehouse on Snake River Ave? They stayed the night at my (parent's) house that night. 😂 I was good friends with Coretta Scott and they might have played the show too. I can't remember. Did you ever go to Mitch's house for those private shows?
My fave moment was when Chris held my hand! We played red rover that night, CRAZY! Stutterfly you will always be in my heart! Best time of my life ever! I seriously miss this....
I put on a show for Stutterfly, in Edmonton... 2001 or so. A bar called Stars. Amazing performance. I still have that cd you gave me. And, it still get's played.
wow this brings back memories. This band is old and I think its funny people compare them to skylit when these guys started way before them. Just to show how old they are they did the soundtrack for House of wax with Paris Hilton in it 4 yeears ago.
este grupo era buenisimo no se por que se separaron...pero era buenisimo aun me acuerdo los tiempos que me tiraba escuchando esta cacnion y la de gun in hand la original... fucking awesome..
Wow !! Ur totaly right SaoEmo. What's rong with u ppl, has everybody gone crazy?? U have to understand that nobody's the same and u just have to stop judgeing ppl. Nobody's perfect u know !! Just wake up dudes!!! Everybody has beautiful dreams and I have to say..don't stop dreaming and fallowing it cuz dreams can come true !!
I'll put my two cents in. It's because of this group that I was able to keep my sanity when I was deployed to Afghanistan. When I was pissed off at someone or when something really bad happened, this would help me vent...no i don't mean by being emo, i mean by just listening. PROPS TO STUTTERFLY!
by the way, i do kind of know them. i met them once because my step-brother's band bought their old van, and we live close to them. it's soo awesome =D
Well okay. They were from kelowna, british columbia. The lead singer Chris Stickney left the band and they got a new singer (I think the old lead from The Bleeding Alarm) and changed their name to Secret and Whisper. Chris went off to start a solo project called Oceans Apart.
Awesome bassist. Really good to see people use their fingers instead of a pick. lol. Learned of Stutterfly in 2005; love them! The album ruined this so bad. This version is WAY better.
Woah. At first glance of the guitarists' cabinet set-up, I thought they were trying to be cool or something silly. But it makes a ton of sense. On their top cabs, they have them on their sides, so that the angled speakers angle towards the center of the stage/crowd, that way people on both sides can hear the guitarist on the other side. Genius.
That is actually incorrect. If you look carefully you can see that the top cab has wheels on the bottom. Having it the sit the correct way would give it the chance to roll off.
Colt Urban I highly doubt they worry about their cabs rolling off. Those things are like 90 pounds. I've played enough shows and seen enough bands with full stacks and they never laid the top cabs on their sides because they were worried about them rolling off. Unless you're playing on uneven ground (most stages are pretty even), you have nothing to worry about.
pillarsofserpents Colt's right in my experience. (Whilst you do have a point; it's better to have those speakers pointed in and not up) Lots of bands in the "HxC scene" tilt their cabs so as not to have them roll around. Even the guys with just one cab. If you look for early ATDI videos, you'll see the same thing. Independent hardcore acts are used to tiny stages where you can bump into things easily so having a stable cabinet is one less thing to worry about.
These guys used to really kick major ass!! I listened to them when they were just demo's. Not sure when that was but at least in early 2000, something like that, the demos really kicked ass. Producers ruined a couple of songs on the real album, i suppose they were still good just liked the demos better.
These guys were their own category that bridged nu-metal fans into post-hardcore and no one can tell me otherwise
I absolutely agree
I saw them in a small club in Northeast, Ohio with Story Of The Year. I wish I could go back, they were on fire that day! I remember being really impressed by SOTY too!
Still one of my favourite bands almost 20 years later!
Well I'm happy people have enjoyed this video for the past ten years.
+scottdapot Actually just recently found Secret and Whisper and now these guys so thanks for uploading, lmao.
+scottdapot what happened to this band, anyway?
+getugatenhow Members formed another band called Secret and Whisper, and after that, some of the members there formed Shreddy Krueger.
hmm. okay, are those bands worth listening to InsidAero
+getugatenhow I definitely think so. I love them both. Shreddy Krueger is a bit more on the heavier side though.
even tho the song is old, you can still feel the emotion in it. truley excellent music. i miss stutterfly. secret and whisper has huge shoes to fill, so far they're doing it, but i think that they really need to step it up to ever be rememebred as much as the old group
this comment is old,

i love how the butterfly ends up on the mic and the scene becomes brighter.
I can't say as I love the music, but the opening shot of them all rocking out in synch is fun. And the screams aren't bad.
He got a nice voice.
I came here bc I found my old iPod 2nd gen and had a flashback. It’s charging now 😎

I'd consider his voice high, I think you mean, it's not whiney. :3
He's mostly known for his powerful falsetto.

Wish i was in a band like this
I totally agree
Stutterfly was the shit. Chris stickneys voice is so unique
i love emo music, im not real emo, but i love something about sad music
Dude TheCollegeboi18 is right. Plus one of my good friends is the bass players cousin. I would consider that a very reliable source.
still fire
