Funny, thats what brought me back to this video, I was at a KMFDM show a few nights ago and while washing my hands in the venues bathroom I noticed a girl next to me had a birthday massacre pop socket on her phone. After complimenting her on it, she mentioned she was in this video, I believe she said she was number" 33". Can't remember now but thought that was cool, lol. The birthday massacre has been one of my faves for about 20 years now, definitely must be a cool memory to be in one of their videos 💜

basically, the student has a crush on the teacher and holds him in a very high regard. the teacher, at first, seems to be living up to that and seems very kind and sweet, but as she learns more she finds hes been feeding all of his students lies and abusing them. when she finds out whats happening isnt normal, she doesnt know what to do and tries to confront him. thats when chibi gives her the poison apple and she gives the apple to the teacher. thats just my take on it though.

Went out to see 'em last year. Let's just say I was a bit too excited, and got too damn hammered which led me to leave the venue early. Ended up on a different side of town shortly after, trying to nap on the side of the road in some desert landscaping (ended up getting covered by ants). Anyhow! Wish that I seen their entire performance. One of my honest regrets in life.
This song is basically about admiring someone and they don't return the admiration. I have been listening to gothic music and learning more about the subculture as I have been interested with this stuff for ages now, I have been in LOVE with rock and metal for a long time so gothic rock is definitely my thing, other genres of the gothic music has also been really nice to listen to, I have also been loving the style and how welcoming it makes me feel. Gothic Goth would be be bands like Siouxsie and The Banshees, The Cure, Christian death, Rosetta Stone,Bahaus, Sisters of mercy, Specimen,Acid Bats etc. The TikTok is full of misinformation and that’s the problem. Deftones is definitely not “ goth” either. I saw someone say they were “ goth “ and I died inside. Not trying to gatekeep, but TikTok has done massive damage with misinformation and people have to be corrected. Of course you can like more than one genre. I have followed them since 2005 and I still listen to them. I love that they are still present. A big hug from Uruguay. Hopefully one day I can see them live as I have done with Rata Blanca among other bands in the region.
I actually came across these guys in 2013 while on my 4th deployment. I was blown away by their sound and was amazed that I'd never heard or heard of them, even though they'd actually been around for about 20 years at this point already. And I even live fairly close to where they come from. I'm glad that so many still get so much from them, they are definitely a stand out group.😁

If I went through sexual harassment in college 2 yrs later or something, I would definitely tell my mother, a caretaker, or any other adult that I trust. And somehow, long after reporting whoever it would be (which sexual harassment is uncool), my main method of healing would be lots of therapy once a week, and the songs that would help me get through the healing process would be this, along with "Monster" by Meg and Dia, "Before I'm Dead" by The Kidney Thieves and "Spade" by Marilyn Manson. The Birthday Massacre is one of those bands you listen to in your edgy phase and then once you're out of it, you forget about them. But unlike other bands like that, when you come back to TBM after a long time, you're like "HOLY SHIT THIS IS A LOT BETTER THAN I REMEMBER!" ... Or maybe that's just me :U

I love how light-hearted they sound, yet once you listen closely to the lyrics you see a deeper meaning that is much darker than it first seems. My sibling, although she doesn't listen to them, says that their lyrics are amazing and extremely creative. I'm proud to say I'm a huge fan of TBM, I own all of their songs and memorized the majority. I hope they continue for years to come.
Ive been into this band for since my teen years, now that I'm older I'm seeing the darker lyrics in all the music I listen to in my teens,even pop songs like spice girls and Sclub7 Alot of music I shouldn't have been listening at the age that I was but my teen years were the hardest so music got darker, little did I don't think I acknowledged what this song was about until now I'm 31yrs old atm. by 8yrs old through my late teen yrs my music taste changed and went to emo, rock, metal, gothic industrial etc I will always love this band.
Why can't people just comment purley on how amazing this video is? It's genius. It's not something you can explain you just watch and know. The lyrics and the concept conect symetrically-bowing down and giving up everything you have to another being be it may the person you're in a relationship with or a God. You're blinded by your love for them but it's a false love or "false devotion" because they want you to believe their lies until you're left broken with nothing.

I have followed them since 2005 and I still listen to them. I love that they are still present. A big hug from Uruguay. Hopefully one day I can see them live as I have done with Rata Blanca among other bands in the region.

I actually came across these guys in 2013 while on my 4th deployment. I was blown away by their sound and was amazed that I'd never heard or heard of them, even though they'd actually been around for about 20 years at this point already. And I even live fairly close to where they come from. I'm glad that so many still get so much from them, they are definitely a stand out group.😁

Hali Muller I am sorry you had to go through this. None of those things should ever happen to anyone. If I went through sexual harassment in college 2 yrs later or something, I would definitely tell my mother, a caretaker, or any other adult that I trust. And somehow, long after reporting whoever it would be (which sexual harassment is uncool), my main method of healing would be lots of therapy once a week, and the songs that would help me get through the healing process would be this, along with "Monster" by Meg and Dia, "Before I'm Dead" by The Kidney Thieves and "Spade" by Marilyn Manson. Like I said before, I'm sorry you had to go through all of this, and a year's passed since you had written that comment. I hope you are doing better ❤️

Why can't people just comment purley on how amazing this video is? It's genius. It's not something you can explain you just watch and know. The lyrics and the concept conect symetrically-bowing down and giving up everything you have to another being be it may the person you're in a relationship with or a God. You're blinded by your love for them but it's a false love or "false devotion" because they want you to believe their lies until you're left broken with nothing.

This is great! I used to have to watch the DVD for better quality than TH-cam. I'd love to have all the older videos like this. VideoKid was the 1st video and song of TBM that I ever experienced and have been hooked ever since.

The song is basically is about people trying to manipulate you. Especially those with higher power. They fill your mind with lies and deceit. And they make you feel love for them when in reality, they only want to control you and everything you do. Like government officials for example. Or an abusive significant other. Hopefully this makes sense.
