Amazing work Mike. Your passion and warmth has brought people of the crafting community together. This video is epic. As your animation shows, it's an interactive display piece. You can play a game on it or simply admire it. 😎👉👉
Both builds are very beautiful! Took a while but it's all worth it. I do love the looks especially with that effects (lights & smoke), it's just amazing 👏.. I still remember this particular scene in the LoTR while watching this. And thanks for letting me know about this. 😁
Michael (& Gerard), you captured the essence of some epic moments in time that the books/movies depicted, but in somewhat static form, though VERY interactive. With so much action going on there, that’s no small feat. The animations of the characters with the sounds going on really brings the imagination to life and the special effects make the location itself a living, breathing piece of art. I am so happy you highlighted the snapshot of Gimli standing on Balin’s tomb, light streaming in behind him, illuminating the deepest dark of the mausoleum. It brought the empathy and heartbreak I felt for him, seeing his grief & rage at a once grand city, bustling with life, love, family, the work put in to create & maintain such a realm, reduced to dust and death and infested with dark dissidents who bear no respect. I loved seeing the process it took to make this and the difference in design between both you & Gerard. Interpretations are wonderful things. I am glad some improvements were discovered along the way to help future iterations. I know you are happy to reach that finish line & move forward with the next project. Looking forward to seeing it all. Thank you for keeping my love alive for this great world Tolkien created, and the creativity shared to bring it to life in many forms.
Amazing mate. The final reveal was awesome, hat off to you and thanks for sharing this. Very very ambitious LOTR of Minas Tirith next maybe haha. Or helms deep!

This was an extremely inspiring story! From learning to paint the minis, collaborating, deciding on personal touches to bring out what the scene meant to you, and framing the final project with the source books. The stop motion and still shots were smooth and dramatic. I learned a lot. Thank you so much!

WOW ... this is EPIC! I'm just starting my first ever book nook, so I'm watching videos like crazy to learn various techniques and what tools would be handy, and what I can make do with on a limited budget. This video popped up in the recommends (so that side of TH-cam is working for you) and after thinking 'This will be a little boring' I was sat hooked on this video. Hey Shane, thanks for the comment! That sounds like a really cool Book Nook idea... I guess the only advice I have, without knowing exactly what you plan, is to make sure you have all your channels for wiring and tubing cut before you glue anything. I avoid gluing as much as possible until I have the layout just the way I want it. Also, avoid using card board for your box as it will warp, mdf is the way to go in my opinion. I would love to see that book nook when its done... Do you have instagram ?
This just popped up in my recommended videos, and wow, what a cool build! I'm definitely going to be binging this channel. This looks awesome! Lovely cooperative creation as well!
Thank you :D
Ideas for future builds: Rivendell, lonely mountain gate, inside a hobbit hole...those are my ideas. I really like the I'm hobbit hole if you do another book nook
Great build. Totally interested in a kit for this
Thanks! Those are some great ideas :)
These videos are so inspiring!
Thank you :D
Came here from the Broken Sword and you did not disappoint. Not touched Warhammer or bgme since I was in school. After watching this, I think it's about time I introduced miniatures to my boy. Please tell me those box blanks and sarcophagus lids are available to buy somewhere!
ahh thats so cool! Broken Sword guys are great, and I am so happy this has inspired you to get the minis out and introduce your son to the hobby. What a cool way to spend time together :D
Oh and sorry, no the box blanks and lids are not commercially available... We do however still have the files so something may be able to be arranged. Find me on instagram and send me a private message ;)
Did you ever release the building kit? I would buy it!
No... but this may be revisited!
