  • This TV broadcast was from Canadian, Montreal-based TV channel "Musique Plus" which was the French-language sister-station to Toronto based, English-language channel "Much Music" (which was more or less Canada's MTV). The two were owned by the same company but were separate TV channels.
This TV appearance has been findable on yt for years in incomplete form (including on my own yt channel here). This complete version was first shared on yt by youtuber kns4evers, here:
    • Mazzy Star - Full Inte...
I'm re-upping kns4evers' video to my yt channel after boosting the volume on it and making some EQ adjustments to try to improve the audio some.
The Musique Plus interviewer's name is Claude Rajotte .
The interviewer notes Mazzy Star was in town to open for JAMC in Montreal that night & that Hope was to join JAMC onstage to sing on "Sometimes, Always." A JAMC gigs list here aprilskies.amniisia.com/gigs/g...
shows JAMC toured North America Oct. and Nov., 1994. I see just one Montreal date listed, Oct. 28, 1994 at the venue Metropolis. So, that's the likely date of this TV interview.
Hope would come on stage to sing the duet Sometimes Always with Jim Reid during JAMC's set. She also sang on the studio version of the song which had been released earlier in 1994 as the first single off JAMC's album Stoned & Dethroned. William Reid was Hope's bf of the time.
The "new" Rolling Stones song Hope mentions liking here may be "You Got Me Rocking", released as a single in Sept., 1994, from the Voodoo Lounge album.

There is pro-shot footage of Mazzy Star's Oct. 1, 1994 Bridge School Benefit set - somewhere. I have never seen it. But I have seen old bootleg lists dating from the late 1990s that list VHS videos for both sets, Oct. 1 and 2. We need someone who has it to share it. I bet Wolfgang's Vault that owns rights to the Oct. 2 video also has the Oct. 1 video, but has chosen to only share Oct. 2 on yt for some reason. But some individual collectors must also have copies they could share. Where ever those collectors may be.
