    I looked at a few of these 5ch mixers. This was the only one in the price range with a power switch. Can't, for the life of me, imagine why you would not Have a power switch!!!? Anyhow, I now have the ZMX52 & it does what I need(mixing a couple stereo sources, w/ the option for a powered/unpowered 3rd. The price is rediculously low, for what you get. No complaints. Thanks for the Vid

      +Hyde Baker Thank you, yes they're very good little mixers actually and have very low noise and high gain. enjoy.

    Just paid £40 with no leads.. Very versatile mixer, I use the line out from PC into the box, add voice and music and send it back. Total control over everything.
    Well built unit, surprised how heavy it is.

      Unh0lyAv3ng3r can you explain how you did that x

      @@TameraMcIntosh sure, I'll give it a go, I'm not very technical.
      I have the XLR mic on 1, Line Out from my PC into 2/3. I added music or discord chat from my phone headphone socket into 4/5.
      The MainMix goes back to the PC as Line In.
      When recording in streamlabs OBS, I can record desktop audio and line in as seperate audio streams, and when editing a video, I can mute the line in audio track if anyone says anything private and the game or video audio is still original.
      Hope that helps? I use leads with a mini headphone jack one end and 2 phono on the other, L and R.

    Hi Snythematix! Thanks for posting this review. I just purchased one of these to play my electric guitar along with backing tracks like those found here on TH-cam.
    I have a small issue I hope you can me with (you'll have to please forgive me but I'm pretty much a novice with one of these devices).
    My guitar amp has both a 1/4 inch line out as well as a balanced line out that I can plug into the mic port on the Alto...currently I'm just using the 1/4 inch jack. My iPad has a 1/8 inch line out to which I am using a 1/8 to 1/4 inch adapter plugged into the Alto. I'm also using a small set of headphones that have a 1/8 inch line out plugged into the Alto using a 1/8 to 1/4 inch adapter.
    You know how when you plug headphones into your smart phone, MP3 device, etc., to listen to music and the sound is full and in stereo? I'm not getting the same effect from the Alto mixer. It's all mono, dull and lifeless. I noticed the ports on the mixer are all mono...could using the 1/8 to 1/4 adapters be causing this or will it always sound mono? How do I get the stereo sound back? Once again, please excuse the fact that I'm just learning how to use this device. I'm sure it's most likely something I'm doing wrong. Thank you sir!

      @Synthematix  10 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      you need a 3.5" jack to 1/4" jack stereo splitter cable, the ports are indeed in stereo, L and R 2xmono=stereo. the only mono channel on the mixer is the mic channel, and the other 4 sockets are stereo x 2, alternatively you could plug into the phono stereo ports

    HiThanks for the review.Do you prefer this or the Behringer 502 please?I know they are very similar but the Alto doesn't have a volume control for the aux in/RCA, does this make a great deal of difference?I like that the Alto has a standard mains adaptor plug to the rear of the unit and an off/on switch.Any advice would be great as I have the option of buying either of them used.Thanks

    Awesome review! One question. Can I use any of the other channels from 2-5 for microphone too or can I only use channel 1 for it?

    • @Synthematix
      @Synthematix  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      you can use ch 1 for an xlr condenser mic and the others are line level for keyboards/cd players etc, however you can use powered mics in the other channels.

      Synthematix Good to know. Thanks for the fast response, by the way. The reason why I am asking is because I plan to get one but I will be using it for podcasting and I may have guests on it that need mics during the recording.

    thanks for the review. =) I have a question
    have you tried to send aux to both to mix and to the phones at the same time... I mean what happens when you push the two buttons above the phones leveler. do both of them works? or only one?

    I just bought one of these as an emergency to get me through a gig, all I used was the channel 2&3 3/4 jacks to rca converters then rca to laptop used virtual dj then connected the 3/4 jacks from main output to amp then microphone into xlr on channel 1 but half way through the night on turning up the volume on channel 1 to talk the music cut out on channel 2&3 also to make things worse, nothing happening from the microphone ( my Mike works), but tap the volume knob on ch2 and music is back.grrrr

    A question... I am using a Shure wireless lavalier mic system to send a line signal to a remote speaker. Mixer output into shure transmitter -- shure wireless receiver into powered speaker. Challenge - I cannot push much signal to the receiver before it begins clipping. Turning the gain all the way up on the speaker gets me close to the volume level I need, but not quite enough. Could I used this mixer as a preamp between the wireless receiver and the powered speaker to boost the signal? Thanks!

    • @Synthematix
      @Synthematix  10 ปีที่แล้ว

      yes you can. its gains are very good

  • @Synthematix
    @Synthematix  11 ปีที่แล้ว

    You may need a guitar to line level converter first

    hi synthmatix excellent video it was this video that had me buy one can you tell me how to connect it to my pc to record my guitar and backing tracks etc might be simple for you but theres no mention in the manual as it dos,nt have a usb

    • @Synthematix
      @Synthematix  10 ปีที่แล้ว

      If your guitar is non amplifier it goes in the mic socket/mono channel, the aux out or main out go into your pc with a 3.5mm to 1/4" or 3.5 to phone cable (depending on which output you choose) channels 2,3,4,5 are 2 sets of stereo line inputs to connect anything at line level, ie cd players,minidisc etc

    i get 2 synths/keyboards + digital piano and now i m looking for a mixer ( with headphones entry ) , this one sounds me good. my question is: the R/L lines is compatible with keyboards? the second question: can i connect my digital piano ( stereo jack ) to the mic line ? thank you

    • @Synthematix
      @Synthematix  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes fully compatible, the mic jacks are mono though (as they should be) you can connect upto 3 stereo devices and a mono mic all together.

    • @terra2468
      @terra2468 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      ok...so , 3 stereos = 2 lines IN for the synths( mono R-L=stereo) + 1 line OUT for the monitor..., but 3 keyboards "IN"...is not possible, right? thank you very much for your help

    • @Synthematix
      @Synthematix  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      3 sets of stereo inputs and one mic xlr or TRS mono input yes. and 2 sets of stereo outputs and stereo headphone out. if you use 3 stereo keyboards you can connect the 3rd stereo keyboard to the phono line in

    • @terra2468
      @terra2468 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      do not kill me ! :) but i do not see all these lines int the mixer: from left to right: mic ( mono in ), 2 sets of R-L in, 1 set of R-L out , 1 headphone out. it means : 1 mono in , 2 keyboards in , 1 monitor out , headphone out . where "3 stereos IN" ....?. do you mean that the mic mono line = stereo in ?

    • @Synthematix
      @Synthematix  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      the third stereo in is the 2x red and white phono
