    Have literally just calculated all (i do mean all) options for all levels of barbarian-rogue multiclass. It was a test for my python code I was doing this holidays to analyze builds, including feats, subclasses, boons and other stuff. And that’s my character for the next campaign with the new rules. I went with 1 rogue, 10 barbarian berserker, 6 rogue, 2 barbarian, 1 rogue. Any rogue subclass works but I want assassin just for flavor. It’s dwarf with tough origin feat, strength based. At lvl 5 sentinel, at 9 I want mage slayer (though +2 strength is better), then any +1 str feat at 14. At levels 19 and 20, as we get barbarian 12 and rogue 8, we can take epic boons (as I read the rules about epic boons, though Treantmonk reads it the same way).
    I was dying to share this with someone, thanks for the opportunity!

      @@remogok5527 no problem!! I’m glad I’m not the only one who saw how good this combo is! I literally had someone else comment about the level 12 and level 8 multiclass thing to grab two epic boom feats and it’s blowing my mind lol 🤯 for sure gonna use that in a future build!

    Incredible build. Its fun seeing your thought process & love for trident. The trident should definitely find ways to distinguish itself (& a shame it is still unable to be used with Polearm Master!) With changing its damage die to be 3d4 with Weapon Mastery: Sap.
    Hmmm... it reminds me of what I wrote for UA Battlesmith, the ability to alter weapon masteries, weapon properties, damage-types, and damage dice (decrease damage die size but increase number of dice, OR increase damage die size). That's the fantasy of a Smith I want, not some pet class. Sorry for the tangent.

    • @comradewarners
      @comradewarners  18 วันที่ผ่านมา +1

      That sounds super cool! I always thought it was odd that battlesmith was a pet class as well! I feel like the artillerist with their Eldritch cannon already filled that roll pretty well, and battlesmith I feel like should be way more focused on being the martial artificer. Especially since artificers are half casters I would want the battlesmith to be on par with like paladins or rangers, but of course with the artificer flavor to it.

    • @xiongray
      @xiongray 18 วันที่ผ่านมา +1

      @comradewarners For a half caster, they should have Extra Attack as a core feature. This gives Battlesmith , Armorer new features, and Artillerist & Alchemist new damage options. And I wrote in the UA that their tinkering knowledge should allow their subclass Spells to be swappable, equal to their INT Mod. In this way, two Alchemist side-by-side would not have the same subclass Spells but their own. Access to a few criterias, for example:
      - Alchemist can swap their Spells for Acid/Fire/Necrotic/Poison/Healing Spells.
      - Battlesmith can swap their Spells for Paladin or Ranger Spells
      - Armorer can swap their Spells for Self Spells, "Armor" Spells or Spells that affects AC or grants THP
      - Artillerist can swap their Spells for Spells that makes an Attack, Lines or Cones.

    • @comradewarners
      @comradewarners  18 วันที่ผ่านมา +1

      @ that would be super cool! Yeah, I wrote in the UA survey mostly about alchemist because it’s my favorite in concept. I think the potions shouldn’t just scale in amount, but also in effect. A 10 foot flying speed potion isn’t that great at level 20 for example lol. Also I personally would like a list as big as like the wild magic sorcerer list. I would like to have waaaay more potion options personally.

    • @xiongray
      @xiongray 18 วันที่ผ่านมา +1

      @comradewarners I filled up the 500 letter limit on Alchemist. For Alchemist, I wrote they need a TRUE d100 table. Filling it up with non-damaging Cantrips, 1st & 2nd level Spells. And get this: the effect to expend a Spell Slot, you can replicate an effect on the table for Experimental Elixir OR any non-damaging Spell with a level up to twice the Spell Slot expended. Still needs gold cost for materials.
      Polymorph Elixir?
      Foresight Elixir?
      Enhance Ability Elixir?
      Forcecage Elixir?
      Wish Elixir?
      It's a pseudo full caster. Also, I added that the range on their Spells gain a 60-ft range due to slinging potions, including touch & Self Spells.
      Also, since the removal of Tool Expertise in the core, Alchemist should gain Expertise in Alchemist Tools & Glassblowers.

    This build is very reminiscent of Conan the Cimmerian. Yes, he was a fearsome warrior, but he also relied very often on stealth and cunning. And two of his most common weapons were a dagger (a poniard/poignard, specifically) and a scimitar. And he was very frequently described as being like a panther. Very roguish.

    This gave me the alternative build option variation of 10 beserker/7 arcane trickster and 3 warlock (could be any subclass, but fiend, archfey or celestial are each cool for different reasons): invisible raging menace. 😊😂 the idea here is that we use pyrotechnics smokescreen option or buy/craft other means of obfuscation like smokebombs and use the pact of the chain pseudo-dragons blindsight via gaze of 2 minds to hide and fight while raging. If we play as the new aasimar the aoe aura can give some extra "wth am I supposed to do against this guy" vibes or if someone else is happy to provide the spell we can go with a race that can hold their breath really well like: dhampir, grung, loxodon, lizardfolk or tortle and have even more fun dragging them into a stinking cloud spell! 😂😊😅

      @@comradewarnersyep and if all you care about is dmg, then I would go beast barbarian. You basically get another attack with the claws you get from them. I usually go for totem barb bc I care about survival more and I want to basically resist everything. Ik in 2024 u also don’t resist necrotic, force, and radiant so either take the gem Dragonborn that gives u force resistance or aasimar for rad and necrotic resistance. I haven’t gotten to the part of the build where you choose the rogue subclass by the physic rouge is an amazing option bc it generates a physic blade you can hit with and with give you the bonus action attack you would get from duel wielder so you can take sentinel at 4 and then either take other feats or max out str earlier.
      I see why you wanna take berserker so you can guarantee the reaction attack but I think sential is enough to get that reaction attack off. I’d do beast barb or totem barb 1-5 and then go rogue the rest of your career.

    • @comradewarners
      @comradewarners  18 วันที่ผ่านมา

      @@Brandonrod those are all good options! Beast barb is super good, a player in one of the campaigns I play in is playing a beast barb!
      In my experience even though sentinel is a really good feat, I feel like it’s a bit less reliable than retaliation. I would either need to have an ally next to me that they choose to hit, or hope that they run away. With retaliation I will almost always get hit in my opinion.
      Those are all great choices though and I mostly make these videos as a way to inspire others to create their own build with maybe some new rules/mechanical interactions in mind! 😁

  • @DmSereb
    @DmSereb 16 วันที่ผ่านมา +1

    How do you make 4 attacks? As far as i can tell your attack action is 2 attacks and a bonus action attack as a two weapon fighting. Nick can make that bonus action attack a part of attack action, but it does not give you another bonus action attack, it just frees your bonus action for doing something else.
    And another one: why do you need a dual wielder feat? It only allows you to use bonus action attack with non-light weapons, which you don't use anyway, because you need a light weapon to sneak attack

    • @werdnotrom11

      i need to agree with @DmSereb here.
      Light property says: 'When you take the Attack action on your turn and attack with a Light weapon, you can make one extra attack as a Bonus Action later on the same turn. That extra attack must be made with a different Light weapon, and you don’t add your ability modifier to the extra attack’s damage unless that modifier is negative.'
      Unless i miss some weird interaction with Nick that can prevent that bonus action extra attack...... in my opinion, wielding 2 light weapons alone allows you to do the bonus action 'offhand' attack with another Light weapon.
      Edit: btw i love the barb-rogue interaction. So this argument is also me trying to free up 1 ASI/Feat slot :p Thanks for the video

    • @comradewarners
      @comradewarners  3 วันที่ผ่านมา

      @ I’m glad you liked the video!! So Nick allows you to no longer use a bonus action to do that attack! So now you have a freed up bonus action and Dual-wielder says you can make a bonus action attack, so in turn you get 4 attacks! 😁

    • @BoomstickBoyz
      @BoomstickBoyz 2 วันที่ผ่านมา +1

      @@comradewarners I was in agreement with @dmSereb's comment until I went digging through the wording, and now it's less clear cut. I could see GMs going either way on it.
      This is how I read it:
      - You can only make one "Light Property Offhand Attack" per turn, either using your Bonus Action or as part of your Attack Action if you have access to the Nick Mastery.
      - The Attack granted by the Dual Wielder Feat isn't a "Light Property Offhand Attack" but a new, separate attack triggered by the Feat, not the Light Property.
      This is what you should probably consult with your GM, as they may rule that this is still your "Light Property Offhand Attack" for the turn, and the Dual Wielder Feat is enhancing the "Light Property Offhand Attack", not a new seperate Attack. If they did rule this way, it would mean that the Dual Wielder Feat attack would then benefit from the Two Weapon Fighting Style instead however, so potentially an alternative route to take this build.
      If the GM did rule against it, you'd be making 3 Attacks instead of 4, losing the "Light Property Offhand Attack" with the Nick Property.

    Honestly think choosing goblin just for damage is a mistake, at levels 1-4 you are getting 4 damage, and at levels 5-10 you are getting 9 extra damage. Not very significant, and not really comparable to GWM.
    If you want extra damage consider the Goliath’s Fire Strike Feature, which will give you an average of 11 damage between 1-4 and 15.4 at levels 5-8, This damage could double on a critical too.

    • @comradewarners
      @comradewarners  18 วันที่ผ่านมา +1

      @@virplexer1428 Very true!
      One thing to keep in mind is I feel like at this point Goliath is always the best species option because they have so many options that are so versatile, I actually have made a bunch of Goliath builds so far and it was getting kind of stale so a lot of this was for the sake a variety.
      Also though I chose not to get cunning action until level 12, so it’s nice to have a bit of that rogue flavor with the BA disengage and hide. It makes this barbarian feel a bit like a rogue before they even have rogue levels.
      Also don’t forget that fire is highly resisted! Just my opinion though! 😎

      @virplexer1428 18 วันที่ผ่านมา

      @@comradewarners That's fair, discussing alternate options i think would be nice. I also think that's my main criticism of this build, at the beginning of the video you mention combining the best of rogue and barbarian together, but for the majority of the playtime there's hardly any rogue levels and I don't really feel like they add that much to the character.

    • @comradewarners
      @comradewarners  18 วันที่ผ่านมา

      @ I get what you mean, the problem is that retaliation is such an important part of this build that I wanted to get it as quickly as possible.
      It for sure is basically a barbarian build through out a lot of early levels, but I personally think the rogue levels add a lot.
      Frenzy can only happen once per turn, so being able to sneak attack twice per turn it really ramps up the damage. With the skill proficiencies and expertise you’re super stealthy and have a lot of out of combat utility that you wouldn’t have as just a barbarian.
      Also by the end of the build it’s an even 10 barbarian 10 rogue split. I know getting to level 20 is rare, so I totally understand, but that’s the main reason why I said the best of both.
      I also like the idea of a tiny goblin man that sneaks up on someone and then hits them super hard, throwing them across the battlefield and just laying into them with tons of attacks.
      Each of my builds have a different focus, this one was more for damage, but ultimately I’m always for the thematics of the character first and foremost. These builds are also meant to inspire and I hope that if anyone actually plays one of my builds in a game, that they change it up to their liking! 😁

    A downside to this is the frenzy damage that is somewhat making up for the loss of sneak attack dice, is only making up for it on your turn and not on your reaction attack. And you have so little rogue for most of the build that your sneak attack, even twice per round, isnt very impressive.

    • @comradewarners
      @comradewarners  18 วันที่ผ่านมา

      True! One thing to think about though is that getting sneak attack twice per round wouldn’t be this reliable in a pure rogue build anyway so in a pure rogue build you would get 10d6 sneak attack by level 20, but because you are double sneak attacking with 5d6 it’s basically the same PLUS the 3d6 from frenzy and the Rage damage AND the brutal strike!
