welp, time to restart yet again lol. ive played act 1 about 5 times now. never made it to the creche yet haha
I love it. Assisting others makes the party stronger
I'd swap the Alert feat for Magic Initiate: Wizard for Silvery Barbs. It's incredibly potent with Order Domain.
Oh, true! That’s a good call!
Love this build, can't wait to check out more of your builds
@@ccoopplay1 I’m so glad you loved it!! I got a whole playlist if you didn’t see, and a new one is coming out tomorrow! :D
@comradewarners awesome! Already half way through the next one haha
Would Spell Sniper feat add range (+60’ for total of 90’ bounce!?!) to the Chromatic Orb bounce since each bounce requires an additional attack roll? 😸
@@maegn I would say yes because it says, “you can increase the spell's range by 60 feet” to me that means while you’re using the spell its range is increased by 60 feet, so that’s awesome!
Waiting to do something like this with poison, but waiting til next week to see the new Monster Manual for poison immunities! Combining Abyssal Tiefling for Poison Spray cantrip and Ray of Sickness. Also, Draconic Sorcery! I waited til later on to get Familiar with Ritual Magic feat so that I could get the Lucky origin feat from Wayfarer background but I’m kinda second guessing it! ♥️ Fun video! Ty! ♥️
@@maegn no problem! I’m glad you liked the video! :D
This gave me the alternative build option variation of 10 beserker/7 arcane trickster and 3 warlock (could be any subclass, but fiend, archfey or celestial are each cool for different reasons): invisible raging menace. 😊😂 the idea here is that we use pyrotechnics smokescreen option or buy/craft other means of obfuscation like smokebombs and use the pact of the chain pseudo-dragons blindsight via gaze of 2 minds to hide and fight while raging. If we play as the new aasimar the aoe aura can give some extra "wth am I supposed to do against this guy" vibes or if someone else is happy to provide the spell we can go with a race that can hold their breath really well like: dhampir, grung, loxodon, lizardfolk or tortle and have even more fun dragging them into a stinking cloud spell! 😂😊😅
We use standard array for ability scores
Thanks for the guide! Did you know this actually a lore accurate build for Shadowheart? There's a sect of Sharrans called the 'Order of the Dark Moon'; They are Shadow Monk fanatics that worship Shar! Also to add I had been forever looking for a good Dark Justiciar build and nothing I did or found seem to give that feel of the Justiciars you fight in Shar's Gauntlet, but your build really gives that feel 100%. Will defintely use this on my next playthrough.
@ Oh wow! I didn’t realize it was lore accurate! I just felt the typical cleric abilities felt like such an odd choice especially with all the darkness synergy in all the gear you get. I’m so glad you liked it and I hope you enjoy your playthrough! 😎😁
So, in dnd beyond it shows the casting time for beguiling magic as 1 action. That makes me think that the comment "no action required" refers specifically to bardic inspiration restoring a use. Is the cast time wrong in dnd beyond or does using an enchant or illusion spell slot mean cantrip in this case? For example, you cast hex as a bonus action and then beguiling magic is your action?
@@Keithmtaylor1 Ahhh, you’re correct! I didn’t notice that in dndbeyond. I would say 100% dndbeyond made a mistake. There is zero wording in the ability that requires an action, it just happens after you cast an illusion or enchantment spell that consumes a spell slot. Another reason I know this is the case is the bard doesn’t have access to hex or any bonus action enchantment or illusion spell anyway at the level this ability becomes available.
@@comradewarners I knew you were going to say that. I just had a lvl 6 bard with a dc 16 wis absolutely wreck a lvl 10 mini boss with this and silvery barbs. The boss has a +9 to wis saves too! No sure how to balance this other than making them arbitrarily immune to charm and frighten. That just doesn't seem fun or fair tho.
@ oh wow!! I didn’t even think about Silvery Barbs!! LOL
I personally have banned the Lucky feat in my home games.
@@unseencrowyomare4143 is that the version in the new rules? It’s a bit more balanced now I would say! :D
@comradewarners old version
@ yeah, luckily the new Lucky Feat just gives advantage or disadvantage. It’s not a reroll if that makes sense.
Really nice feat
So I wanted to try this (with several mods) in bg3. Using these mods I nailed the look this build requires: Aasimar mod, glamour bard mod, thrudd hair mod, electric guitar mod.
That is so cool! I bet it looks awesome! I’m excited to play again tomorrow night!
@ see ya there!
Advantage on saving throws is good too. The luck point is probably spent before knowing it lands. Hmm... that actually reminds me, the Help action helps another's skill test if the helper is proficient in said skill. It's actually pretty hard to get advantage on saves with the exception for the DM & rp circumstance. Helping with saving throws they're proficient would've been nice. Feels like a missed opportunity. Maybe too strong.
Making a similar build to this!
That’s awesome!! It’s a very fun one!
its good early game but mid to late most have immunity to it, especially bosses
@@DidItMySelfProdu I actually go into this in the build, this is very true, but it’s still only 25% of monsters. Obviously a higher percentage of that is higher CR monsters, but for example the Ancient Green Dragon that they already revealed for the 2025 MM is only immune to the poison condition. Also there is tons of other stuff to consider that make the Glamour Bard sooo good at high level. 😁
Sorry if I already brought this up I’ve been preoccupied with being in hospital a couple days and can’t keep track of comments I’ve left. I’m thinking of doing an arcane trickster thri kreen. I was gonna do a Kensei monk but thought if I take cartomancy how cool will card tricks with four arms be? Unsure if I want to multiclass
@@jpperron1835 oh man! I hope you’re doing okay! 🤒 That would be really cool! Especially because you can make a spell a bonus action, you could do some crazy stuff! In one of my campaigns I play in a player is playing a Thrikreen Bard and he’s been loving it!
@ yeah just a simple procedure but still had to stay a while so they could do all the things yknow
@ that’s good to hear! I’m glad the procedure went well!
@ thanks man
He did it. He built ziggy stardust 😂
I have no reason this made me think this other than glamour bard
@@jpperron1835 This for sure has those vibes! 🤣😎
Before this Glamour Bard portrayal, I used Armorer Artificer with Studded Leather full body suit (with a Helmet!) with Infusion: Perfume of Bewitching OR Wand of Conducting as a Spellcasting Focus before getting Pipes of Haunting.
I'm going to tell my kids that studio 54 was a college of glamor
Charm or Frightened is potent, both in & out of combat. Silvery Barbs baby~
Sorry to necro an old video. I'm building a celestial lock so i checked it out, You're sleeping on radiant soul (2024) It applies your mod every turn an enemy takes damage, not every time you cast a spell. I can't tell if dndbeyond has it wrong or you read it wrong, but in the new phb it days "once per turn when a spell you cast" as opposed to "when you cast a spell." For example, I'm building around create bonfire, but moonbeam, flaming sphere, sickening radiance, will apply the damage both on your turn and the enemies.
@@mjust7119 you’re right! I feel like this could be really good, but more in a build specifically centered around it. If you don’t plan on going pact of the blade and don’t plan on getting the extra attack and instead taking True Strike this could be amazing. My problem is that it only effects 1 target even though you can have it effect enemies on other turns. That create bonfire build sounds awesome! I think also since this one is based off of my 2014 character updated I was more trying to recreate them instead of coming up with something new. Did you see Treantmonk’s recent Searing Smite build? It makes great use of this! You should check it out if you haven’t!
@comradewarners yup (to Treantmonk's build), that's when I realized the rewording haha. Yeah currently I'm thinking agonizing true strike, whip, warcaster, you don't even really NEED a spell like bonfire, but between bonfire and warcaster it's almost a guarantee off turn damage. Telekenetic to try and get two enemies in bonfire/ sickening radiance and in your opportunity range. My dm is allowing Grasp of Hadar with true strike but probably can't count on that. If not you can still probably build it with Grasp on Eldritch Blast, or agonizing thorn whip (you'll need to take tome for bonfire anyway) Basically it's a lock down tank, saving spell slots to heal (or armor of agathys in a pinch)
@ That’s super cool!! Not many caster Tanks out there so that’s filling a pretty unique niche! 🤯😁
@comradewarners you can also Agonizing Bonfire which is wild. I couldn't really find any more cantrips that were that cool, but I just love that one.
@ Create Bonfire is a really fun cantrip, especially with all the new ways to move creatures now with the new rules! :D
It's so cool Aasimar's get options. Whatever you're feeling like at the moment
@@xiongray I agree!! One of my favorite things is when I have many options to chose from depending on the situation!
Enjoying the build. You could give a BIT of diversity by getting true strike for when you run into really good saves or condition immunities. I guess EB works too. Philosophically, control doesn't replace damage at all. You still need focused damsge to take advantage of all your control. It actually replacing healing support. The best kind of healing is not taking damage! VPR is OP
@@bponcho414that is a good point, True Strike for sure wouldn’t hurt! this build is assuming your party is gonna bring the hurt, and with enemies wasting their actions, and getting so many penalties to hit, I agree that this is more of a damage negation build for sure!
When you use command and choose the flee option, they do necessarily dash away. It says fastest available means, and the dash action is well within their means. If I were the dm and the monster had the haste spell, I'd go so far as to make them cast haste on themselves to get away faster.
@@evansmith2832 That’s true, so I feel like using Dissonant Whispers and the Approach Command is a good way to counteract this problem since they will come back to me, also luckily at later levels we get an insane speed as well.
Area effect spells like fireball don't target characters, so charm wouldn't protect you. Sanctuary is explicit about this difference
@@ariashkenazi9211 good to know! So would only work on attack rolls. 😎😁
While that's true on a strict reading of the "can't attack charmer or target charmer with magical abilities or damaging effects" part of the rule, I would argue that if the charmed creature has the option to cast the spell in a way that avoids hitting the charmer, it would reasonably take that option; and if collateral damage is unavoidable, might even take a completely different course of action.
@@Monch05 It's not a strict reading of the rules, those are just the rules. A GM can always change those rules if they want, but any who do should be aware that such a change makes charm significantly stronger against enemies with area of effect attacks.
@@ariashkenazi9211 I get your point, but at the same time, there's too many scenarios and possibilities to acccount for in 'what if' bullet points. I would actually argue that Charmed is pretty weak on its own, and is very commonly resisted, allowing for the scenario where "I don't need to target you to damage you on purpose" just makes it even weaker and borderline irrelevant. I personally think that if a rule has a relatively simple goal (no harming the charmer on purpose), instead of looking for loopholes in the non-exhaustive text to be able to ignore it, we should make *rulings* to try to follow it, otherwise it would require a much specific and rules-heavy game than 5e and 5.24e
@Monch05 it's not a loophole, you can check sanctuary which has a similar effect and they explicitly mention that area effect spells aren't included in the spell's protection. I'm mentioning this because build videos can't factor in who has house ruled certain features and who hasn't. There will be tables where charm doesn't work against fireball because that's what the rules say. Knowing that ahead of time is good for players trying to use this build.
Can't you take Hex if you take Fey Touched as an option instead? Don't a lot of tables for new games (not all) like to restrict players to the 2024 stuff, so they don't have access to that option for either spell? I feel like your Fey Touched argument doesn't hold water.
@@ryanweaver3348 you can take Hex with shadow-touched, but also they didn’t make half of Warlocks features revolve around Hex. Also Fey-Touched and Shadow Touched are included in the new players handbook. If the designers think that Hunter’s Mark is as good as a feature as they think it is, then it is just odd to me that they make it available to any character as PART of a feat. Imagine if you could pick up rage with a feat, that would be so odd, right? It’s annoying since it should be one of their only unique things, but it also is annoying because it shows that the designers know it’s really not THAT good of a feature. This is all just my opinion though.
@@comradewarnersI did have to double-check; you take Hex with Fey Touched, just like Hunter's Mark. Nice that FT is in the 2024PHB. Half is an exaggeration, but goes go to show that, while other beings may be able to use it, Rangers are the master of its application. While their benefits are kinda crappy, and just making it concentration free would have been better, you cannot say that other classes cannot do as much with the spell as the ranger can. As for Rage, I am actually surprised that they don't have a baby feat for it: Ferocity: 1-2 times per day, gain +1 damage, -1AC, + temp hp equal to level, for up to 10 minutes, same duration and restrictions as Rage (except can wear armor). All that said, Ranger isn't a new class like they said; this is just the Tasha's ranger, with a couple more uses of hunter's mark. It was a lazy take that they could have done better.
and I agree, at 13, making it concentration free is low hanging fruit; if a designer is worried about damage stacking at 13, they missed a whole lot of other options that stack things even earlier. 13 would have been fine for removing concentration, and I even think switching targets after downing one could be a free action at this point. Could also have done +d8 at 13, +d10 at 17, and +d12 at 20.
Nice build, seems fun 😊
If legacy content is allowed, Undead Warlock might be a fun multiclass for the Frightened condition. I think most Undead are immune to Charmed and Frightened, but theres a good chance other mobs will get debuffed.
That is very true! I feel like this would especially be good if your table does longer combats(my table does!) mostly just because of bonus action bloat. (I would LOVE a subclass with BONUS Action Surge! lol) once you get everything set up you would be doing so much fearing and charming every single round it would be insane! 😁
How much spell slots are you using to get this rotation off? Seems pretty inefficient early on.
Totally understandable! The thing is, every time you use Command with Mantle of Majesty it doesn’t use a spell slot. So you’re only using 1 slot per round. 😁 Also as you get into higher level encounters since a lot of the spells being used don’t actually scale, you will be using your second level spell slots even at level 20. Plus we also eventually pick up Warlock levels and they give you an extra 2 slots! I will say my DPR calculations are usually meant to show you what you are going to do in an encounter that you have all or most of your resources, and are planning to use most of them in this 1 encounter. This is mostly because my table usually does only 1 or 2 encounter days, and when polled a lot of viewers said their tables are similar. So I would say with most of my builds it’s good to keep that in mind. If your table does a ton of encounters in an adventuring day I would advise to switch to using cantrips for sure a bit more often! 😎😁
Possibly making a big bad eat most or all of their legendary resistance in a single turn, that shouldn't be underestimated , i know it would change the vines and dpr calculations, but i can see going draconic sorcerer instead of warlock to gain some extra hp and a better armor class and access to mind whip sooner and some meta magic mischief. Excellent build crazy amount of debuff in a single turn
@@glitchking666 Thank you so much! 😁 Yeah, a sorcerer Multiclass would for sure work well with this build, especially if you aren’t gonna take it to super high levels. This is probably out of all of my recent builds, one that I might actually try to play at a table sometime! 😎🤘
@comradewarners I definitely want to try this build as well, I usually look at videos like this for inspiration for a build or if I'm stuck on something, I've never played a build from TH-cam before, but this feels like you're doing so much in a turn and actually making a difference. I see this build getting used a lot especially for high level one shots! Keep up the good work
@@glitchking666 Thank you so much! I really do appreciate it! 😁
Any alternatives to ending combat is good. Love the recommended Studded Leather.
It's good to be a Bard. I'd have gone with Lyre (Harp), Lute (Guitar), & Horn (Saxophone)~ 🎶 🎵
Okay, here's my unrelated question of the day: Does Horde Breaker work with True Strike? Do you do another true strike or just a regular attack? Anyway, love the new glamor bard.
@@mjust7119 ooooo, that is a juicy question! I would say based on the wording you can 100% do a second attack after using True Strike because it meets the requirement of being an attack with a weapon, but I feel like the second attack would need to be a regular weapon attack, but just with that same weapon. The wording isn’t clear enough though so I could see a DM letting you double True Strike! (I would allow it) the fact that you normally can only hit 1 target with True Strike makes this a fun interaction especially because you have to set up having two targets next to each other, but rules as intended I don’t think the designers would like this! 😂
Pretty much exactly what I settled on. You probably should just do a normal attack but if I'm a wisdom build, cmon, it's just 1d6 lol gimme it. Also I love the heavy crossbow to push enemies into place to then hit a second.
I hope you guys enjoyed the Build! Also I started a whole video series of my most recent Baldur’s Gate 3 Playthrough and the first edited video is up! Check it out here! Nice guide 🎉
32:55. The druid will take damage and lose concentration if they run across the spike growth, or drag the enemy across the spike growth. You are not immune from your own spell. Same with moonbeam. I can't imagine any DM allowing this.
I understand what you’re saying, but there is no rule that states you share the same space as a grappled creature. You’re in a separate 5 foot cube as them. Rules as written as long as you don’t move into the spell effect, there is no reason you would take the damage as well. To give an example, if you do a melee attack to creature in moonbeam, but you’re staying on the edge, do you think a DM would make you take the damage as well? All you need to do is drag them through the spike growth while staying on the edge yourself.
How do you make 4 attacks? As far as i can tell your attack action is 2 attacks and a bonus action attack as a two weapon fighting. Nick can make that bonus action attack a part of attack action, but it does not give you another bonus action attack, it just frees your bonus action for doing something else. And another one: why do you need a dual wielder feat? It only allows you to use bonus action attack with non-light weapons, which you don't use anyway, because you need a light weapon to sneak attack
Dual wielder grants an extra attack not tied to nick, but requires a light weapon and uses your bonus action. See Enhanced Dual Wielding paragraph
What they said!^^ 😁
How to heavy counter Ooze abusers: Juiblex might get pissed off or interested in you. For who doeant know: Juiblex, The Lord of Nothing, seems a weak demon. Enough to be ignored by gods, high ranking fiends etc. Except one particular detail: he is the Lord of Ooze. The Slime King. Juiblex can DIRECTLY CONTROL any Ooze. No restrictions. No saving throw. All Oozes are DE FACTO drones or body parts of Juiblex. Think about it before becoming an Ooze.
Good to know!! I love lore!! 😁
