Hi I want to use this for music production also ? How do you get stereo signal into the recorder? Did you use a right and left mono jacks or a single trs into one input? Thanks
You definitely saved my from buying an interface and cables to connect my mixer to it, all these recording software, mics, cables can be stressful this is great to take with me whenever I perform at a party that way i can record my drums and syncronize the audio with the video!
Thank so much for checking out the review and for watching until the end, I hoped that the extra audio samples might be of interest. You're right they kind of are ASMR, didn't even think of that at the time. 👍
One can tell how good the microphones are as they're very revealing of the problematic room reverberation that make cuts really difficult. A fine example of why one's environment is as important as the audio equipment itself.
I use a USB cable with a portable battery, the kind you use with your phone. It lasts for days. I saw you were using it, but you didn't mention the mounting hole in the back. I often use mine on a light stand. Just screw it on, or use an adapter to give you tilt ability. I love my H6

Hello - excellent review. I'm looking to boost my audio quality. I do a lot of recording in a vehicle and find I'm getting a lot of ambient noise. I'm looking to clean that up. Would you be so kind as to give me a recommendation for a set up that would increase the voice audio and cut out a lot of the background road noise from the vehicle? Thanks again for the excellent review. All the best, Cheers Rick
Hi, I have been using the H6 for a couple of years now and am more than happy with it. However, just one thing that has puzzled me and perhaps you can answer this as I se you have the same issue. At 3:20 your display shows the XY and four separate channels, at 3:49 your display now shows the XY and three channels (channels 3&4 are now combined) . I only got this when I upgraded the firmware to 2.30, I did a factory reset and then all the channels were displayed as per 3:20. Any clue as to what has happened or have I missed something very obvious.
I know exactly what you are referring to and certainly doing a factory reset will bring it back to four mono tracks. plus the LR capsule tracks. However you don't need to do a factory reset. You can link channels 1&2 or 3&4 as stereo channels using the MS Matrix in the settings. For some reason when you try and turn the link of using the MS Matrix setting it doesn't always work. So what I do is to tap on the channel 3 button and at the same time tap on channel 4 for example and this will link and unlink without going into the MS matrix menu.
wow thank you so much for that last section with the tested audio, i was curious about how each mic set up would sound especially with the sound effects. Do you recommend using the wind muffler (foam thing) on top of XY mic when filming indoors? I have mine on but i'm scared it'll muffle the audio instead of it being as crisp as it can be.
You're welcome. Thanks for checking out the video! I don't think the windshield would noticeably muffle the sound in any way so if you wanted to you could leave it on. Having said that I tend to leave it off in doors just to ensure there is nothing in the way of the mic, however subtle it may be. The only benefit of using the windshield indoors would be when using it for voice over to reduce plosives when talking into it at a distance of 30cm or less so for any other recordings of music room ambience product unboxing etc I tend to leave it off.
Thanks. Does connecting th slzoom h6 via the 3.5 outlet to your camara sound lower the quality of the sound when you put it in to your computer. As you mentiined it has great sound due to pre amps. But everyone says camaras have nit very good quality pre amps. And not to use the camera for sound. So does the sound go through the Camra pre amp through the 5.3 cable. The camera i have i think has phantom power. I would have to turn this off? Thanks a mill. ??? Thanks.
You are right that the pre amps on the H6 would most likely be better than any consumer grade DSLR or mirrorless camera. The noise floor would also be lower on the H6 so less hiss than most cameras. However if you do want to record into the camera directly certainly you can and the audio would be just fine. The noise reduction and audio optimisation tools in Adobe Premiere and Davinci Resolve are so good that once you apply the filters the audio will be fine...
Hi Good morning Sir, pls i need advice. i need a good usb mic, for youtube voice over with in fcpx , final cut pro x, am using a lavelier mic at moment, but i need a usb mic, ive tried the shure MV7 Mic, and hated it, u can see a vid i did on it, anyway i saw u used a Rode NT USB mic with the h6, sound was so nice, have u tried blue yeti x or apogee? or what do u recommend is the best voiceover mic, , with the h6 can i use that as a direct voice over while conected to mac using usb attached mic? basically usb mic to h6 to pc or mac, in fcpx voiceover
Hi there, thanks for checking out the video. I am a little confused as you mention that you want to use a USB microphone and the H6 when you can plug a USB mic right into the computer so don't need the h6 for that. So if you are happy to use the h6 you can consider an XLR microphone instead. Technically they would be the best in terms of fidelity of sound. So something like the Rode NT1, Rode Podcaster or Sure SMB XLR mic plugged into the Zoom would be premium. Now if you want to avoid using the H6 for convenience and just plug and play then a usb mic would be great. I haven't tested the new Sure MV7 but I thought it was pretty close to the legendary SMB in sound so I would have thought that would be a good pick. Next up the Rode NT USB is a good option. I haven't tested any of the Blue mics or apogee so can't say but I know they are pretty good. I have been sent a few microphones from BOYA recently and despite the low cost have been impressed with the quality of these mics. I did a review on the BM 700 which you can see here if you are interested: th-cam.com/video/DwBnGxCNVFM/w-d-xo.html If you have time listen to the audio and let me know if you think it is better than the Shure, it was plugged right into my Macbook Pro and recorded in Garage band for the demo. No EQ
@@Touchtechnologyreview yes i actauly bought sm7b mic, and zoom h6 and a cloudlifter yesterday, will set it up soon, u are right i mistakenly mentioned usb mic , i ment xlr mic, hopefully the sm7b will be just right, the nt1 was also my other alternative
Thanks so much. Glad you found the video useful. If you end up buying one, I made a follow up video with even more information on how to use the H6. th-cam.com/video/aLCgvOajyD8/w-d-xo.html.
Very useful review i bought one of these to record my father's Roland V Accordion and works amazing, great sound quality, i also use the unit as an audio interface for videoconference throug skype, and also excellent, highly recomended
Great to hear. Yes it's so good that it can be used for all of these applications. I do the same using it for both audio recordings and as an audio interface.
💯 The sounds quality is great whether you are using the build in XY mic or an external XLR Mic. Of course the sound of the external mic has a role to play in the quality but the recorder itself is excellent.
Fantastic review. Has helped me decide to get one. Only thing missing is the sound of it recording an acoustic guitar using the XY mics. But great anyway.
Yes you can do this. On top of the H6 are the input selectors, you can tap on the L,R which is to activate the capsule mic and any of the 1,2,3,4 buttons to activate the line input of your XLR mic. Hit record and you will get two seperate files.
I had a Zoom H6 for a few days used to record audio on location. The worst design flaw I found was the channel volume "resetting" itself to zero when booting up via line level XLR input. I had the misfortune to notice this fault while on the shoot (from then on I had to keep slighty moving the dial input every time I switched the unit on to "wake up" the correct channel volume). I had to put tape around my XLR connectors to "pad out" the connection to try and prevent my cables from accidentally being pulled out because of the lack of XLR push-locks. Also the pre-amps are a bit meh, didn't cut it so had to power my mics via my sound devices mixer instead. It just about did the job... but 2 days with such a flakey machine was enough for me and sent it back!
I've been looking for audio interfaces for a while to be able to record my piano. I wanted to get a set of SE07's and a SSL2. After seeing this review I wonder if it wouldn't be better to get this ZOOM 6 instead. If I combine it with two SE7 I can use the 'on board' mics to pic up either a second instrument, voice, or maybe the soundboard of the piano to get a fuller sound. Or I can just use it the same way as I would use the SSL2 but be more flexible/mobile and also be able to use more phantom powered mics. Am I missing something or is the sound quality much better from a device like the SSL? Would love to get some input on this.
I purchased from a local AV company. You can get it on amazon. Here is an example of one listing. Keep in mind no one seems to have the exact same kit that I purchase with both capsules. amzn.to/3nYFO6c This one has the XY capsule only so you would have to buy the MSH6 separately if you wanted that as well. However the XY is probably enough for most recording situations.
The XYH-6 at the end has a bit of echo in the sound, is that from the capsule itself or did you do some post work on the audio.? The Ss were too harsh also, did you have the windshield cover on? Thanks for the review.
No post production in the audio. The echo is really more to do with the environment that I recorded in. It is a large open space around 30m SQ. Hardwood floors and no soft furnishings etc. As far as the silibence goes on the S sounds it may have something to do with the mic but also my voice. I do produce a fair amount of Ss as most people do so really you do have to EQ it in post to get rid of it on any mic.
Can you use the XLRs at the same time as using the XY mic on the unit? Like if at a party you want to capture the atmosphere as well as the handheld mic plugged into one of the XLR inputs?
Yes you can just arm the L/R tracks and the track that you your mic plugged into ie Track 1 and record. The files will be recorded simultaneously so you get one recording of the XY mic and another of the microphone you have plugged in.
Hello! I was wondering if the 2 outputs (line and phone) are independent, can i route 1 mic exclusivly to the phone output while the other mics go thru the line out?
I'm at the very moment when I'm just starting to gather information about a video podcast. I need two medium quality microphones for starters, 2 pairs of headphones I have from sennheiser and a camera to film full hd on sd card 45 minutes or maximum one hour. My question is if I could use the BM 800 Condenser microphone with Zoom h6 input to get quality sound and the h6 zoom output at the microphone input in a camcorder? Thank you
Yes you should be able to do that. Looking at the BM 800 it seems to be an XLR mic so you can use it with the Zoom. As far as passing the audio through to a cam corder yes you could do that using the audio out of the zoom into the 3.5 input of a cam corder.
Thanks for that excellent review: I almost couldn't believe how good that H6 sounds. I have a TASCAM DR-40x and the pre-amp noise is not good, I'll see how it works with a mic booster but I'm considering the H6.
Hi I'm very new to sound recording. What is 'pad control'? Like what is the dial near the mics used for, compared to the other four dials? 3:36-3:44. Thanks for the video, it was very informative!
I just bought the H6 but then, I just discovered the H8. I heard that the construction on the H8 is not that good, but I wanted something mostly for foley and field recording, and maybe light podcasting. Should I take back the H6 and get the H8. I like the shape better on the H6 better and I heard the construction is better, but I'll be missing out on a ton of features. I'm not sure what to do. Thanks.
Sorry it took a while to answer. The H8 is going to be a little better it is the newer model and has more of a touch interface and more xlr inputs. It does cost more so depends if you need all that. I think the audio quality on the H6 is as good as it gets really so you may not need to spend the extra. Let me know if you have made up your mind yet. Interested to know.
@@Touchtechnologyreview I kept the H6 for the form factor since it fits into most cases. I decided for my upgrade, I'll go with the Tascam X8 instead. But I'll wait till the fix they build quality. Thanks again!
No noise reduction added. It is very clean provided you set the dial under 5 or 6 and have a low noise microphone. So in part its the pre-amps of the H6 but its also the low self noise of the Rode NT1.
Thanks for informatioins..I have 2 secret quesitons. Can you prefer for the film and videography the Zoom H6 ? The Zoom 6 For interviews 2 person can uses or no ?
Yes it is great for films and videography. You can use it for two people with the built in XY capsule microphone. However you really to have to have it very close to both people as you will get lots of room noise and echo if its just sitting on the table. Ideally you want to use two microphones and get one on each person up nice and close.
@@TouchtechnologyreviewSir. Well except this with quality lavalier microphone can i get good results ? And wich one lavailer microphone can you prefer me ? Again thanks great for informations.
Yes you can, each track is recorded as an individual file. You can use these files in an audio editing program to put them together on individual tracks. Or if you don't want to edit in an audio program, you can use the H6 built in mix down feature to mix them down into a single track after you have recorded all tracks.
I’m a keyboard player and singer. Can you do a video to show how you would use this product and the video camera to not lose the sound quality coming from the DAW. Does the audio have to be synced to the video or can you plug the output from my Mac directly to camera? I’m not very knowledgeable on camera technique. Thanks
Great explanation, Can you please tell me connect to connect ZoomH1n and Boya BY M1 lav mic to my smartphone so that I can record Audio and Video in together.
Assume your H6 was not attached to your camera and the sound was later put in post production. I understand you can record directly into a camera or camcorder with the H6 so no post-prodction match up needed. Have you done this before? If so, I wonder how you turn the H6 to record at the same time you push the record button on a camera or camcorder. Any help appreciated.
Yes I sync i up in post in order to ensure that I get the best audio quality. You can plugin a 3.5 cable into the line out at the front of the Zoom and then into your camera and that would record the audio onto your video file. It should sound pretty good but keep in mind that your camera pre-amps and the use of 3.5 cable always introduces more noise and technically won't sound as good as audio recorded onto the zoom itself.
The way to sync up the audio from the zoom is to do it via your video editing software. So if you have three sources of audio, 2 from the video clips and 1 from the zoom. You can select all clips and do a sync to audio command to align them. Then you mute out the video tracks. This can be done in Adobe Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro or Davinici Resolve software.....
Hello! I am new to the world of audio quality. I have started to do Sound Baths with Crystal Alchemy Bowls. I do them live for about 45 min via the Zoom platform, and I am currently using the Apogee mic which plugs right into my MacBook Pro. I am interested in increasing the quality of my Sound Baths, and wondering if the Zoom H6 is something that would make sense for me to invest in or if there are other mics that you recommend for this type of work. Thank you!
Great purchase, I think you'll love it. As I say in the video, you'll really notice the quality of the preamps and once you have a play with it you'll work out the essentials pretty quickly. I have worked most of it out by now so let me know if you have any issues down the line. Otherwise enjoy!
Nice review, I might get this to upgrade from H4n which is really good. Surprised that they didn’t update that SD latch design, I agree that is a bit flimsy the first one to get worn out. I have mine already DIY with a little bit (that silky ribbon for gifts), just to have a tiny ear enough for finger to pull out the cover and it hides nicely being a cloth-like material. 😅
Yes, absolutely. The XY recording capsule that comes with it is designed to reproduce room acoustics very accurately so if you get it in the right position it should work well.
Can you please recommend a couple of microphones (options / model) for the H6 and also let me know if I would need an specific adaptor to be used with this recorder? Thank you very much in advance. Your videos are incredible.
How long does the H6 take to power on? I have the H4n Pro and like the regular H4n it takes a long time to boot depending on what size SD card you use..
No effects applied on this video as I wanted you to hear it as is. I do normally apply compression, parametric eq and a deverb plugin to get rid of room noise but certainly never use noise reduction when using the H6n as it's not needed. I made sure that I was pretty close to the microphone in this recording which helped minimise any reflections from the room.
@@Touchtechnologyreview you might not believe me when I say this but I ordered the H6 immediately I saw this review. I should get it in the mail tomorrow. 🙌
Touch Technology Review I purchased all items based on your recommendations. I pray I get the same sound/audio quality as you. Although I don’t know your settings.
@@hollywoodloft6768 Great stuff. I am sure it will sound amazing. It's really quite simple just plug the NT1 into the XLR port and dial up to around 5-6 and it should sound the same. There are other considerations to do with the acoustics of the room, so if you have time check out this video where I talk about it in more detail: th-cam.com/video/KRwvUM2JxuU/w-d-xo.html
@@hollywoodloft6768 Thanks man, that would be amazing. LOL. Enjoy the new equipment and feel free to hit me up in the comments if you have any questions with the set up when it arrives. 👍
Yes you can use it for live streaming. You can do that by connecting the Zoom to your computer using the usb cable and then you can configure your streaming software to recognise the zoom H6 as your audio input.
Haven't tried any of the newer models. Improved noise reduction would be welcomed. In my opinion the noise floor on the H6 is pretty good at the lower levels, but becomes noticeable if you go up over 5 on the dial.
I have the Scarlett solo, but pro tools just seems to much for me Thinking of getting this because it seems easier to use Is it simpler than Scarlett interface Does it sound worse/better My goal is to record basic music, overdub tracks Guitar, drums ,harmonica, acoustic etc Thanks to anyone who helps
I haven't compared to the latest scarlet interface but in terms of audio quality it has about the same quality low level of noise and high quality preamps. I think you would be pleased with its performance as an audio interface.
I think the XY capsule would probably sound most natural you can adjust the angle of capture and it has a nice balanced stereo sound. The other MDH-6 mid side mic can also be used for instruments. It does sound great but most people prefer the balanced sound of the XY capsule.
@@Touchtechnologyreview Hi. I have asked you a question before. Could you please point me in the right direction again please? When recording vocals and instruments at the same time what do I chose? WAV and what kHz and how many bit or do I go for MP3 and what kbps? As you can see I am all new to this. Thank you again. Cheers. Tashi
@@silent_silence I would suggest you use the Wav format where possible. Wav is superior to MP3. Probably WAV48Khz/16 Bit is enough. I don't think you would ever need higher fidelity but for super high quality the zoom lets you use WAV24 bit and can even go to 96HZ 16 and 24Bit. The human ear can't really hear the difference so stick with the 48Khz 16 or 24 bit for most applications. The. higher you go the more memory used on the memory card too.
Thanks much for your nice demonstration. I gonna to ask about the device concerning lectures recording,do I need to conect it to apower socket to be functioning or i can put it in my pocket or my bag, secondly, how far distance it can record the voice. Thanks
It will run of 4xAA batteries and you will get 8-12 hours of running time at least per charge. You can use rechargeable batteries or you can buy a power adaptor or use a usb battery pack with it too. Regarding distance it should be fine in a lecture hall, depends on the audio in the room and if it has speakers. If not the closer to the presenter the better.
I haven't tested with rechargeable. I use high performance Alkaline batteries in my H1 and get pretty good performance. I haven't timed it but would estimate around 8-12 hours of recording on a single battery before changing. For rechargeable I have heard good things about Panasonic eneloop pro NiMH . Capacity up to 2550.
Thank you for the informative review. I’m new to this technology. I’m looking to do discussion recordings in public places like restaurants where I want minimal amount of equipment to take to site and minimize background noise. Would I be able to use this on its own or should I attach external mics? Thanks!
If you place the zoom unit in the middle of a table in between those who are speaking the built in mics will capture the audio quite well. However the further away the microphone is from the subject voice the more room noise, echo and environmental noise will be present in the recording. So in a noisy restaurant it will not sound great. As such you should consider using a seperate microphone for each speaker. If it is a podcast style of recording you can get xlr podcast mics and put them on stands about 30-50cm away from each person. Another option is to use Lapel microphones and plug each one into the XLR ports of the zoom. Up to four can be used. However keep in mind you may need to down the phantom power on the XLR ports using Rode VXLR Pro 3.5mm TRS to XLR with Phantom-Power Converter. This is because most wired lav mics use phantom power but on 4w. The XLR ports can be set to 12 or 24 Watts and can overpower the lavs. Otherwise you can try to find wired lav mics that do not need phantom power and use a basic XLR to 3.5 adaptor. I know its getting confusing but just laying out the options for you.
@@Touchtechnologyreview thanks for the guidance! In that case, I’ll start with just the unit by itself on the table and dry run that to see how the quality of found is, and then work my way up from there if I need to add dedicated mics. Thanks again!
@@alirezayousefi3054 Sure thing see how it goes. The closer the mic is to the speakers the better the results will be. If the environment is just too noisy then you'll have to consider external mics.
You can use the toggle button just above the menu button on the side of the zoom h6 to adjust the volume of side microphone. By default it is probably going to be set to 0. If you keep moving left it goes to -22 Db and then into the off position. If you move the joystick right again you can increase the gain back up to activate it again.
Excellent for recording. I got mine 4 yrs ago. Is there a way i can put a downloaded mp3s or wav files in one of the tracks so that I can play guitar and mp3 backing tracks at the same time?
I am not aware of a way to download and drop in an audio track onto the SD card. However if you record it in I think you might be able to do what you are looking to do in the overdub mode. This allows you to play back a track while recording on another. I haven't used this feature myself but they describe it on page 35 and 36 of the manual.
HELP: I want to import a music backing track to lay vocals along side to be mixed later IN THE H6. There is not ONE video that explains how to do this that works. I tried even converting the backing track to the specs the H6 is recording at on my laptop on the SD as I saw in a video but when I go back to the H6 and put the SD back in the H6 I can't find the backing track to play I want to use to lay vocals. I'm not talking about overdubbing I just need the track to be able to be referenced while recording. Can anyone help me or lead me to a very specific and good english video that shows how?
This is a great review thank you! I'm hoping to purchase this and use a couple of lapel microphones, is it just simply any 3.5mm to XLR adaptor? Thank you.

I love this review.....this video is just super informative and amazing at the same time.
The audio quality is just beautiful and crisp
Thanks so much. Glad you found the video useful. If you end up buying one, I made a follow up video with even more information on how to use the H6. th-cam.com/video/aLCgvOajyD8/w-d-xo.html.
Thanks for the thorough in-depth review of the H6, I enjoyed it so much, your presentation alone persuaded me to try one for my audio needs.
Great to hear! I am still using mine and love it. Hope you enjoy the new zoom!
Exactly! That's what we are using
HI what means or is phantom power thanks
AYYYYY beatbox all-stars! Didn't expect to find you here at all!

You can plug this directly to your phone?
Cool how is the sound quality
do you recommend this one
💯 The sounds quality is great whether you are using the build in XY mic or an external XLR Mic. Of course the sound of the external mic has a role to play in the quality but the recorder itself is excellent.
Bought one the other day, love it...ps i like you're watch?
Ps get yourself a Roland MX1,
Cheers
Great to hear. That is my Nixon Mission watch. Funny you should say that as I ended up getting the Roland MX1, perfect for the TB03 and TR09!
@@Touchtechnologyreview excellent.
Fantastic review. Has helped me decide to get one. Only thing missing is the sound of it recording an acoustic guitar using the XY mics. But great anyway.
can you record simultaneously with H6-XY capsule and with an XLR mic? And if so would this be recorded as two separate tracks?
Thank you
Yes you can do this. On top of the H6 are the input selectors, you can tap on the L,R which is to activate the capsule mic and any of the 1,2,3,4 buttons to activate the line input of your XLR mic. Hit record and you will get two seperate files.
@@Touchtechnologyreview thank you, I've just ordered one. So looking forward to playing with it 😊
@@NanaFox Great stuff. You'll have lots of fun. I still use it to this day for all my recordings. Very happy with it!
What site did you buy it from?
I purchased from a local AV company. You can get it on amazon. Here is an example of one listing. Keep in mind no one seems to have the exact same kit that I purchase with both capsules. amzn.to/3nYFO6c This one has the XY capsule only so you would have to buy the MSH6 separately if you wanted that as well. However the XY is probably enough for most recording situations.
@@Touchtechnologyreview Thank you for your helpful video and your reply. I really appreciate it.
@@music-emmagedminas3130 You are very welcome!
The Zoom H6 it's amazing. Have you encountered a buzzing/interference sound when using it as an audio interface?
Not for me. I have connected to a 2016 Macbook Pro and 2019 iMac and neither had any issue. No noticeable line noise or interference at all.
Such a well thought out and comprehensive review! Awesome video! Thank you for that!
You're most welcome. Thanks for checking out the video!
Can you use the XLRs at the same time as using the XY mic on the unit? Like if at a party you want to capture the atmosphere as well as the handheld mic plugged into one of the XLR inputs?
Nvm. I have the H4n and it’s been a while since I’ve used it and yes you are about to do this. Haha
Yes you can just arm the L/R tracks and the track that you your mic plugged into ie Track 1 and record. The files will be recorded simultaneously so you get one recording of the XY mic and another of the microphone you have plugged in.
Great review; very thorough. But uh, "haych 6"?
Thanks man. Glad you liked the review. Yeah I have to agree the Aussie accent is a bit weird. It's the way we learned to pronounce it down here.
Do you need an audio interface with this. or do you get this also in the mix of this machine?
Great video! Thank you. Is there a way to record the audio on a zoom call on my computer ? If so, how would I do this?
Thanks so much. Yeah I'm still using it to this day. Great sound...
When connected to a computer, can you use the inbuilt mics and speaker for video calls?
Great Review. Was looking forward to know whether 3.5mm TRS would fit in this and you answered it right on track. Thank you so much.
You're most welcome. Cheers!
How does this compare to the Anker for Zoom calls? That is if you're familiar with Anker.
@@synthguy7774 Great to hear. Enjoy the H6!
@@TouchtechnologyreviewThank you! Also, I heard the touch screen on the H8 is a bit finicky.
@@synthguy7774 I haven't had a chance to test it yet but I imagine it would be. Its not that large a screen so could be...
Did you add background noise removal or does it record this smooth?
Can you use this as a 4 track recorder? ie recording instruments separately and not at the same time?
Yes you can, each track is recorded as an individual file. You can use these files in an audio editing program to put them together on individual tracks. Or if you don't want to edit in an audio program, you can use the H6 built in mix down feature to mix them down into a single track after you have recorded all tracks.

I’m a keyboard player and singer. Can you do a video to show how you would use this product and the video camera to not lose the sound quality coming from the DAW. Does the audio have to be synced to the video or can you plug the output from my Mac directly to camera? I’m not very knowledgeable on camera technique. Thanks
Nice video! I think I’m going to go with this recorder now!
Good choice!

Can you use this with an iPhone? If you’re recording with your phone but use this as the mic.
Great explanation, Can you please tell me connect to connect ZoomH1n and Boya BY M1 lav mic to my smartphone so that I can record Audio and Video in together.
sir can we connect our external woofer to it so that voice comes from speaker what we speak on mic???
Yes you can use the line out jack at the base of the unit to do this.
@@Touchtechnologyreview Much thanks for this information. Really apprecaite it. John

Is there hardware/software support to sync the Zoom H6 audio captured with one or two cameras videos when editing in post?
Thank you!
Tuned in to learn about the AC adapter. Didn't see and input, does it plug into the small USB. Can you use just any ac 5v?
Yes you can use the usb connection for power. Should work with most usb powered battery packs and power supplies.
Solid video. Just got mine and still trying to learn all the details. Thanks.
Great idea! Thanks for sharing
Thanks so much for the information. I am wondering if Zoom H6 is valuable for choir (30-50 singers) recording.

About 4 seconds for me using a Sandisk 60MBS card,
How is that sensitive condenser not picking up room sound ?? ... did you post-process ??
No effects applied on this video as I wanted you to hear it as is. I do normally apply compression, parametric eq and a deverb plugin to get rid of room noise but certainly never use noise reduction when using the H6n as it's not needed. I made sure that I was pretty close to the microphone in this recording which helped minimise any reflections from the room.

In the meantime Zoom moved on. The H6 had relatively poor noise floor. The F series are a mayor step up from the H series.

I haven't compared to the latest scarlet interface but in terms of audio quality it has about the same quality low level of noise and high quality preamps. I think you would be pleased with its performance as an audio interface.
Which capsule would you use to record instruments?

Can you add extra vocals on a prerecorded track? And if not….why?
What is the best type of rechargeable battery that can be used with Mike Zoom H1N..and will it last long enough with continuous recording?
I haven't tested with rechargeable. I use high performance Alkaline batteries in my H1 and get pretty good performance. I haven't timed it but would estimate around 8-12 hours of recording on a single battery before changing. For rechargeable I have heard good things about Panasonic eneloop pro NiMH . Capacity up to 2550.

Can a USB mic like Rode podcaster work with this?

How can I make msh-6 capsule record from the front only or in the middle without being scored from all sides, left and right
You can use the toggle button just above the menu button on the side of the zoom h6 to adjust the volume of side microphone. By default it is probably going to be set to 0. If you keep moving left it goes to -22 Db and then into the off position. If you move the joystick right again you can increase the gain back up to activate it again.

My H6 says wait for signal to record when I hit the record button. I’m using the microphone that is included. (The XY recorder) Why and how to fix??
can I record all 4 channels using the line out to my camera
Yes the line out should send all channels of audio out to any device.
