I liked it but it would have been nice to learn how to overdub with it and what making a mark means which the manual seems to suggest is something you really might what to do. @@RLGMedia
In all honesty, this is the BEST video tutorial instruction of ANYTHING I have EVER watched! So easy to follow along, great explanations, great video and audio quality and perfect to screenshot the important infos. Thank you so much!
I just purchased the Zoom H6 Audio recorder, my first recorder, and I had no clue how to use this. After watching this video, I am wondering why I waited so long in picking up this device and happy that I found this video. I now have the confidence to use this awesome device thanks to this AWESOME VIDEO! 5 STARS!
You need to get the audio of each lapel mic into the separate inputs on the H6... I use a Rode wireless go II system and from the receiver i take the audio out with a 3.5mm stereo Y cable (into the zoom inputd go two separate Line input connectors, TRS connetor... I use channels 3 and 4 for lavaliers, it's probably confusing for you but I'm not sure how much easier I can explain it haha@@aaryamannambiar6677
We record a lot for our hemp shops (Carolina Hemp Hut stores) and this tutorial represents one of the best benchmarks for quick getting started tutorials. Bravo.
I received the H6 w my Tech kit for Film School about 15 months ago, I've barely used it due to not being comfortable with it, but this was precise, clear and easy to follow. Thank you🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟
I found myself with this device in hand I had no idea it existed seconds before, couldn't figure out what to prioritize in the manual, and exactly as your video ended was when I had to start recording. Pew! You really saved me. Thank you.
Under 1k subs!? You're kidding! I just thought yep this is the top result on TH-cam because it's the best... I'm in shock, what a fantastic and helpful tutorial. Thanks pal!
Just purchased mine and this video will be very helpful, I’m sure, before I can use it, I noticed that there was no SD card included, was there supposed to be or do you need to purchase a separate SD card with this recorder
Hello. In this highly professional device, recording and listening always starts from 00:00? If I've already recorded guitar and vocals And now I want to do a backing vocal that starts at 2:35 minutes? And I don't want to hear the entire introduction. I want the H6 to turn on and record a few seconds before the selected point. How to do it?
Can it be use as a 4 mono channels mixer???? Can you record on channel 2 while hearing (playing back) at the same time what you recorded on channel 1????, for example.
im like 13 and my dad works as a sound helper guy and got me a job as an Assistant. he told me to watch this video but I literally have no idea what this is
This is a far cry & stretch of a question.. but… MAYBE you’ll see this… When monitoring my xlr input with headphones, the audio monitored is VERY LOW in the headphone, but when I take the footage off of camera .. the audio is ultra loud compared to what was being monitored.. I have found the sweet spot at 5gain.. but I am desperately looking to find a fix that will give me accurate monitoring for my hatevwr mic I am recording with into camera… please help!
HELP: I want to import a music backing track to lay vocals along side to be mixed later IN THE H6. There is not ONE video that explains how to do this that works. I tried even converting the backing track to the specs the H6 is recording at on my laptop on the SD as I saw in a video but when I go back to the H6 and put the SD back in the H6 I can't find the backing track to play I want to use to lay vocals. I'm not talking about overdubbing I just need the track to be able to be referenced while recording. Can anyone help me or lead me to a very specific and good english video that shows how?
Hi, thanks for the video. Is it possible to record simultaneously using the X/Y mic and a shotgun mic plugged into one of the channels? In other words, can I record background sound using the X/Y at the same time as recording e.g. voice using the shotgun?
Hi, you will get different files for different input channels. So When you use XY mic and 4 external mics you will have 5 separate files (1 file for stereo input and 4 files for inputs). You can mix these soundtracks using audio/video editing softwares.
When I press the record button and I’m using the XL microphone, it does not turn to red. I get a note saying to wait for signal. Why? What am I doing wrong?
Friends, I have the latest firmware existing at the moment installed(2.5) on my zoom h6, but when I try to connect M/S mic it says "please update the firmware". Does anyone know what to do in this situation? Thank you
I'm having some prolems recording separate files. For example: i record channel 1 and 2, and when i took off my sd card and put it in my computer i have the channel 1 and 2 in the same file and not in to two separate files, can someone help me?
This is because channels 1 and 2 are the left and right channels using the stereo mic modules. These will always generate a single stereo file. Here is a solution for separating the files: open the stereo file in Audacity. Then select the menu for that track (the three dots) and then choose 'Split Stereo to Mono' - which will create two mono tracks. Export each track separately.
Great tutorial!Quick, to the point, easy to understand. Can I record multiple sessions in one folder? or do I have to pick a new folder for every new session? thank you!
Thanks for a great video! However, something in your video doesn't match my experience so I was hoping you could help. I recorded at an event yesterday. I had an XLR input into port 3, and a mic in the module. Both were selected and lit and so I expected to get two files - one ending in LR and one ending in Tr3. However, I just ended up with a single file called ZOOM0007.MP3. Is this because I switched it to MP3 (I needed the time as it was going to be a long recording session)? I was hoping for two separate tracks. Fortunately, the audio quality is excellent on the recording that I ended up with but I would like to figure out why this happened for the future.
Great video and now a quick question After I record drums in 2 or 3 tracks can I later on connect a KEYBOARD and be able SIMULTANEOUSLY to have PLAYBACK AND RECORD ?
That was the best tutorial for the ZOOM H6 on the whole TH-cam. Congrats my friend. You were outstanding.
I agree, very well done.
I liked it but it would have been nice to learn how to overdub with it and what making a mark means which the manual seems to suggest is something you really might what to do. @@RLGMedia
I need a precise instructional video like this for literally everything in life.
I thought the same thing, I didn't know how to express it. Thanks
I need a video to help me properly express my appreciation
Agreed!
Hi, I have a doubt. What if I'm recording multiple lapel mics at one go, but I want each one recorded in separate clips, not 1 clip? How do I do this?
My first marriage should've came with something like this.
In all honesty, this is the BEST video tutorial instruction of ANYTHING I have EVER watched! So easy to follow along, great explanations, great video and audio quality and perfect to screenshot the important infos. Thank you so much!
can't believe I waited so long to watch a video like this for the h6. this is how all tutorials should be. pure perfection.
I appreciate when someone puts in the time to do it right. Great tutorial.
This video is the gold standard of instructional videos. Straightforward and informative! Thank you.

Can it be use as a 4 mono channels mixer???? Can you record on channel 2 while hearing (playing back) at the same time what you recorded on channel 1????, for example.
Easily one of the best videos I've seen on TH-cam. Can you do same for the H8?

Wanted to ask you, how was the job? Did you like it?
@mahmoodomar5105 g

Is there a limit to SD card size I can use?

Can you you link all 4 inputs for recording ambisonic audio?

@@RezaEbrahimpour Thanks Reza, I did some testing and worked it out. Thanks for replying to my question.

How does this compare to the Anker for Zoom calls? That is if you're familiar with Anker.
If I'm understanding right this means i don't need a computer to use this?
don’t know how ur vid got less views than others but i’m getting all the answers in the first 60 seconds vs a 31 minute video
This was an amazing help, thank you!
Excellent tutorial. Just a reminder, though, that the word "button" has two letter Ts right in the middle of it.
Not all cultures pronounce the word button with a very pronounced “T” sound.
For example, in Australia it can sound more like budon.
What USB Power adapter is compatible with the h8?
Wow. Best tutorial ever. 🧿
Thank you soooo much for this wonderful information.. it was really easy to understand as u guide..
It was very helpful ❤️
Wow, fantastic overview.
Is a 1 GB SD-card enough for ten interviews of 60 min?
Generic but clear and simple. Thank you.
Can a Cell fone camera be used with this to get Visuals?
Great video! You sound very much like the guy who narrates the Sharper Turtle series (of which I've watched a gazillion!)...just wondering!
Great tutorial!Quick, to the point, easy to understand. Can I record multiple sessions in one folder? or do I have to pick a new folder for every new session? thank you!

Not boring and tiring at all.
Clear and simple, thank you.
Thanks. Clear and concise.

Absolutely because you were rec to mp3, that doesn't happen in wav mode
Great video and now a quick question
After I record drums in 2 or 3 tracks can I later on connect a KEYBOARD and be able SIMULTANEOUSLY to have PLAYBACK AND RECORD ?
Best explanation indeed! thanks
Why so many folders?
Feels like the tech is retro, I can’t believe an iPhone app isn’t available using a stereo mic
Jesus Christ what the **** this is best ****ing video oh my god!! just perfect

Does it has a dc power supply, instead of batteries?
Thank you for this - very nice job! A+
