Completely different thing but I think Mr. Beat's video on the Interstate Highway System titled "The U.S Interstate Highway System Explained" may be good for the channel. The interstate system is really a major part of our country here in the US that is genius in its simplicity and often goes underappreciated in how vital it is.
Happy New Year, Andre! If you saw the classic 1984 movie, _Red Dawn,_ you would have heard Air Force pilot, "Andy," played by the unforgettable character actor, Powers Boothe, th-cam.com/video/5Qc8jJ0TjSY/w-d-xo.html tell the Wolverines, "I'm an Eagle driver," which was the jet he was flying when he was shot down by the Russians. If you've never seen the movie, it's a *must see.*
to the point of the A-10. nearly every plane in the US arsenal is better than the A-10. but the A-10 doesnt know that and the guys and gals flying the A-10 couldnt give less fucks about that and just make that thing work anyway. Oh and to the real world record of 104 to 0. The US tests newer aircraft against the best stuff they have, so they used the F-15 to test the F-22 in air to air combat. and the F-22 won of course --- 41 to 2 or something like that. and that was with the F-22 being handicapped by training manuals. so we can only guess what will happen if that thing is ever unleashed.
The best part? The F-15 that lost the right wing and part of the elevator was spraying so much fuel out the severed lines that the crew didn't even realize they'd lost the wing until they landed and said had they known they likely would've gave in and bailed out. When the Israelis told McDonnell Douglas what their plane had done, they called bullshit😂 and didn't even believe their own plane could do that claiming it had to be a taxi-ing incident on the ground, until they sent a team to see and verify the claims themselves. IIRC they ran simulations/did calculations afterwards and discovered the fuselage was wide enough that past a certain speed it generated enough lift to fly by itself without wings. Which was how it was saved in the first place, after its collision with an aggressor A-4N in Training it went into an uncontrollable roll towards the ground, it was only with the afterburner applied that it finally slowed its roll and became controllable. When they tried reducing power they went into another roll until relighting the afterburner again. They had to remain in afterburner while gushing all their remaining fuel through it and the lines in the severed wing all the way to base and landed at twice the recommended speed, with their emergency landing tail hook ripping off almost immediately after catching the cable and them only stopping 20ft short of the barrier at the end of the runway. If was only as the pilot turned to shake the hand of his instructor in the backseat that he saw and realized the severe extent of the damage. That particular F-15 was already famous im the Israeli AF for having 4 kills in the Lebanon war, it was repaired and returned to service, getting another kill only 2 years later.
Okay, so yes: the F15 was succeeded by the F22 which is by every metric publicly available a better, scarier air superiority fighter. Now, there's a problem with that for the F22. Quite literally, the plane is suffering from success: there is no one out there who can challenge the F15 head on, and thus no opposition has tried to fight the F22 since it can beat the F15.
And for reference sake, a mock fight was done with 2 F22 vs a wing of the best of the best F15 pilots. Let's just say all F15s were downed. And yes they did two tests. One was radar over the horizon. Second was visual contact.
@@aDrummerThatisBored In simulations, the F22s typically only ever lose domestically once they're out of munitions. When training with other countries, they are put at every disadvantage possible to try to make them lose since it's considered better training lol Absolute beasts of planes
@@brianabc83 Yes and no. F15s are multipurpose these days, while F22s rely on stealth, however from what I've been told by guys that work with them F22s aren't designed as dog fighters relying solely on their stealth capabilities to not have to dog fight in the first place. F15s while capable and really fucking good at aerial dog fighting, typically run air to ground style ops more often than not. However of these two, the F22 is slated to retire and the F15 has an upgraded model coming out. Sims be damned, it seems we have a winner
This was built because Russia kept over hyping their new MiG-25 Foxbat and the US took Russia seriously and over engineered this plane to keep up with the MiG-25. As it turned out, Russian MiG-25 was actually a paper tiger while the US actually created a very formidable plane.
It wasn't just that they were overhyping it; its external design appeared to back up those claims. And had it been made out of aluminum and titanium like the West thought it was, it might've actually lived up to the hype, but since it was made out of steel that was crudely welded and bolted together, the external design that made it appear so dangerous was actually necessary just to allow it to fly.
@@PhycoKrusk I'm not surprised that Russia couldn't keep up with the US, but I was pleasantly surprised at how incompetent their army is and how bad they are at warfare. This isn't like Afghanistan where both the Soviets and US had to fight against guerillas; the Russians are in modern "Mono e mono/Fight me here in this battle field and we'll see who wins" war and are getting devastated.
@@Fighter11244 Bear in mind that the only entity "winning" in Ukraine is the American military-industrial complex. Yes, Russia is taking notable losses, but they're also occupying all the territory they actually want (Crimea for the Black Sea access, and Donbas for the petroleum fields). Yes, Ukraine is holding on, but only because they keep receiving weapons from NATO (most of which are built by American companies).
The F-15 was the F-22 before F-22's existed. It was the US's premier, most expensive air dominance fighter. Before people were complaining about how expensive F-22's are, they were complaining about how expensive F-15's are. It was stupid expensive for it's day, but it was also the global king of air superiority.
@@sirpieman300 The F-22 is better at air superiority than the 35. The F-35 was developed to replace 4 aircraft, the F-16, F-18, A-10 and the Harrier. The 22 was never on that list to be replaced. Due to it's high cost to develop, and it's role as still the top air to air fighter on the planet, the US won't even sell an F-22 to countries it co-developed the F-35 with. That's my comparison to the F-35 anyway. Thanks for the comment.
Exporting the F-22 would actually help reduce its development cost; it's not being exported because that would be illegal, and while it's probably illegal because a bunch of people in Congress who don't know anything about military technology thought it should be illegal, there are still a lot of technologies in the F-22 that aren't even in the F-35 (e.g. despite being physically larger than the F-35, the F-22 produces a smaller radar signature and is even more invisible).
@@PhycoKrusk Obviously exporting the F-22 would have reduced it's development costs. As would have joining with allies to develop it in the first place. The US specifically chose to develop the F-22 on it's own, and not even sell a single unit, for the strategic purpose of being the only nation on the planet with the top air superiority fighter in the world. The US had/has the military economic backing to do that, unlike any other nation on the planet (yes even China). It's a military flex that has yet to be matched.
@@PhycoKrusk Oddly enough, the US has actually given the Japanese the plans to build the F-22's competitor, the YF-23 Black Widow. The Japanese are using it as the springboard to design their own 5th Gen fighter to help counter China.
The A-10 and F-15 were two different planes. The A-10 was suppose to be a nightmare for everything on the ground. The F-15 was suppose to be a nightmare for everything in the sky. They both succeeded through extreme violence. You may want to check out this guy's Skyraider video, it's the father to the A-10.
Also re: why no one ever mentioned it. It and the F-14 are like, regulars. They're so obvious and such a large part of our everyday military that no one ever thinks to mention it over other specialized aircraft. Especially since it's older than the F-22 and F-35. They're roughly analogous to the Tornado and Eurofighter to the UK
Though many people have seen Top Gun & Top Gun 2. Do y'all think 🤔💭 that Andre would enjoy the 80's Movie, *"Iron Eagle"* ??? th-cam.com/video/Py1LeIf3xQE/w-d-xo.htmlsi=6F2all9sLECvDNoc
Don't forget about the F-15's "E" model(F-15E). The F-15E can bomb targets on the ground as CAS, and be an air superiority fighter. The F-15E can do the A-10's job easily, and it's faster.
@@Kriegermeister1 The biggest downside of the F-15E is that it's a fast fighter. The A-10 is better at loitering over the battlefield to provide continuous air support for troops on the ground. The F-15E Strike Eagle is better at strike missions (getting to a target fast and destroying something specific on the ground). The A-10 is too slow to survive well in the strike role against a defended target.
He knew. The uncontrolled rolling tipped him off. Once he increased power and applied corrective input it leveled out. He had to maintain a higher speed to get home and landed much faster than normal.
@@heisnotlongbutthin yes you are exactly right I know this because there is literally an interview with him. He knew SOMETHING was wrong but not how bad it was I mean think about it you are in a plane get hit correct it you don't then assume a wing is gone lol. If I remember correctly he said the subsequent fuel leak hid the damage so even though he looked he still couldn't see it was gone
We Americans who live in St. Louis, home of McDonell Douglas, now Boeing, which designed and builds the Eagle, are even more proud of the Eagle…and its new newest version, the FX.🇺🇸🦅🇺🇸😁
When you ask if the F-15 is better than the A-10, it’s not a simple yes or no. They have different missions. The A-10 will have more combat than the F-15 and the A-10 is expected to get shot at. As you’ve already seen, but I haven’t made it to that part yet, the F-15 is almost untouchable. I had the joy of being able to watch and listen to the F-15 take off about every 20-40 minutes on a couple deployments. It’s a thing of beauty. As great as watching an F-15 take off, in my opinion, still doesn’t beat a B-1 taking off. Both take off with their afterburners on and the B-1 wins out on that one (not talking about top speed or quickness)
Back when I used to live just off the flightline at Dyess AFB, Texas, when the B-1b's would do emergency take-off practice, the noise was loud enough that the vibrations would shake loose the lightbulbs in our kitchen!
@@martinsv9183 that’s kind of why I said they have different missions. I’m well aware of the meaning behind the prefixes A, B, C, E, F, K, T, U, and W. I know there are more
TFE definitely front-loads a lot of information about the F-15, but when front-loaded like that it does seem fantastical. The F-15 DOES have a TWR >1, it CAN go 2000 miles on a tank of fuel, it DOES carry more bombs than god... But not at the same time. See, the eagle was designed to counter what we thought the Soviets were producing during the cold war. It was designed to be pound for pound, the most powerful aircraft ever made in the engine sense. All this power translates into an aircraft that DOMINATES the energy fight. That is to say, while everyone else flying corkscrews towards the ground trying to trade altitude for speed at just the right moment, this thing can at any time decide to just go skyward and never slow down. That means the eagle gets up high where the other planes can't reach because that takes time to build back up to, comes back around, and ends you. The loadout for this traditional air superiority configuration is pretty much just the gun and a few extra missiles once the fight starts. Oh, and it has a very powerful radar in the nose. Let's not talk about The Eagle Wall. The massive ferry range and bomb capacity of the F-15 are a side-effect of all that engine power and someone realizing that if you aren't currently needing all that extra power to out-energy an enemy fighter, you can LIFT. So the F-15 can be configured to carry three HUGE drop tanks. And provided it doesn't need to race anywhere, can make those tanks stretch a long, long way. Thus, you get your massive ferry range of over 2,000 miles. Alternately, the same 'do you even LIFT bro?' that allows it to carry huge tanks, can also be swapped with other heavy things, like bombs. Lots of bombs. So many bombs that somewhere along the line of making model updates, someone took an air superiority fighter, and turned it into the world's nastiest two-man strike aircraft. The F-15E 'Strike Eagle'. You know you're carrying a LOT of unhealthcare when you need a whole second seat just the hold the guy who's SOLE purpose in life is to act like a mobile postal sorting facility making sure the correct warheads arrive on the correct foreheads.
To answer your question about the A 10 and if it was “better”. You cannot equate the two, they are built for different jobs. The A 10 is an airframe for attacking targets on the ground, the F15 is meant to mix it up and take control of the skies.
Yes, the F15EX is already out. It's a bad, bad plane! Until the F22 came out, the F15, for sure, was the best of the best, and no one beat it! It was simply too fast, too maneuverable, and too loaded. It was/is simply a monster! Since no one has ever beaten the F15 in a dogfight, or any fight, and the F22 is supposedly even better, that would mean, by common sense, that the F22 would have NO competition in the skies. The A-10 is also my favorite, as I was IN Iraq a few times during the war, and there is NO better sound to hear if you're in a tight spot, than the Warthog grunting!
Yeah, when it comes to the A-10, the best way I heard it put was, "If you're a US enemy, and you can see and hear the A-10, it's already too late for you."
the F-15EX is basically a restomodded F-15E, modern, more powerful powerplants, better avionics suite, better radar, advanced fly-by-wire allowing it to perform high-alpha maneuvers like you'd see from the F-22, missiles out the wazoo, and the ability to carry non-conventional munitions.
This air craft was meant to work with the A10, its job was to clear the sky of enemy aircraft so that the A10 could just focus on ground targets and not also watching out for enemy air.
Mig-25 was designed in response to fears of the B-70, which was never in serial production. The F-15 was designed in response to fears of the Mig-25. Had the Mig-25 been examined by the U.S. before beginning design of the F-15, the F-15 would have never been designed.
There is a video on that specific plane you can watch. The pilot regained somewhat control but couldn't tell the wing was missing due to spraying fuel. She buried the afterburner and it straightened out perfectly and flew basically normally she just had to land real hot
Per the A10 vs F15 question, they have two VERY different missions. The A10 are built for one thing only: Tank busting. The main cannon the GAU-8 Avenger makes up a bulk of that aircraft and the way its rounds are loaded is in a 2 2 1 configuration. 2 Armor piercing rounds to breach the tank's armor, 2 Phosphorous round, meant to make the air within the tank extremely volatile, and 1 tracer round which serves a dual purpose. The first is the typical tracer round function its more or less to see generally where your aiming. The second is what makes this 2 2 1 set up so terrifying for anyone driving or inside the tank in question. Tracers are EXTREMELY hot. So the last round mixes with the phosphorous now inside said tank and BOOM no more tank. By the time you hear the report of the cannon, it's already too late the rounds impact faster than the speed of sound. The F15 on the other hand as of now acts as a multipurpose fighter, able to provide CAS and air superiority. Think of it like a jack of all trades master of none type deal. Well except for that 104 to 0 win loss ratio...
The A-10 is also optimized for flying relatively low and slow, loitering above the battlefield for long periods of time to support the ground troops. The F-15E is a strike fighter, optimized for getting to a specific ground target fast (fighting other fighters, if need be, on the way in) blowing it up and getting out fast.
My brother was in the Air Force as an Aircraft Mechanic. He worked mainly on the F15 and F16 jets. Unfortunately he was injured when the canopy fell on his back while he was working on it which put him out of the airforce for good he only had 4 more years before retiring at 20 years service. He died from cancer at the age of 52. I miss him so much.
Let me uses cars to compare the F15, A10 and the F22. F15 = Ferrari: Performance, style and respect. A10 = Cadillac Escalade: Utility, power, style and fear. F22 = A Formula One with and invisibility cloak: FEAR, just fear.
The F-15 and the A-10 are equally badass at what they each do, they just do different things. The F-15 tells flying things to sit down. The A-10 tells rolling things to stop doing that. You are right, the F-15 does not have supercruise so it cannot travel at high supersonic speeds for a ferry flight across the Atlantic.
One detail about the F-22 that I haven't seen mentioned in the comments is that there are no more F-22s being built. It had originally been designed and produced in the late '90s/early 2000s as a stealth air superiority fighter against a near-peer or peer adversary. Someone like what the Soviet Union had been. However, after the fall of the Soviet Union, and with the onset of the Global War on Terror, Congress decided that the need for an aircraft as advanced (and costly) as the F-22 no longer existed, so it's entire production and manufacturing chain was torn up and repurposed to use in the F-35 project. So while, yes, the F-22 is superior to the F-15 (and every other aircraft in the world at the moment), America's fleet of around 100 F-22s is all that will ever exist, because the cost to rebuild the entire manufacturing and production lines is close to what it would cost to design a newer (and better) sixth generation aircraft... which is exactly what the US is doing.
It was an Israeli F-15. After the mid-air accident the pilot juiced the throttle and headed home. The F-15 fuselage is basically a lifting body. It really happened. If an A-10 could get te gun pointed at the F-15 it'd be done in half a second. However, the F-15 could shoot the A-10 down beyond visual range. The A-10 is low and slow. The F-15 is high and fast. The revamped Eagle incorporates the latest stuff and everything the Eagle did, in now does even better. Oh, and that satellite kill was in 1985! The cruise range is at cruise speed, not top speed. The F-22 is stealthy. The 15 is still faster. The latest fly by wire additions are said to make it much more maneuverable yhan it was before despite lacking thrust vectoring.
The A-10's gun also is specialized for attacking ground targets. Unlike dedicated air-to-air fighters, it doesn't have a radar-guided gun; so, it is much harder for it to actually hit another jet with it's gun.
An air force top brass was quoted saying something along the lines of "the f22 will have the same tactical advantage over the f15 as the f15 does over the good year blimp" and that's just scary not gonna lie
The A-10 is an "attack" aircraft which are designed to kill ground targets. That is what the "A" in A-10 is for. the "F" in F-15 is for "fighter" which are designed to kill other air fighters. Also, "B" is for "bomber", "C" is for "cargo/transport", "H" is for "helicopter" and there are a few other designations for other specifications like trainers and re-fuelers. Plus, there are combos like the F/A-18 Super Hornet which does both air-to-air and air-to-ground, the EA-6B Prowler which is an A-6 Intruder attack plane re-designed to include electronic warfare capabilities, the AC-130 which is a C-130 cargo plane configured into a ground attack plane, and the AH-64 Apache attack helicopter, and many others for you to react to!
Bill Sentry - My associate in the Air Force was a munitions crew chief on US Air Force flight lines for about a decade. The first Eagle squadron was part of his daily work. One pilot requested clearance from the runway to 40,000 feet. Only 2 minutes later the tower called 'We cant see you on radar. Where are you?' The pilot replied he was at 40,000 feet, still over the airbase, still accelerating straight up! Eagles would park at one end of a hanger outside, and before they reached the other end of the hanger, they were off the ground! As he sat in the cockpit doing weapons work he saw the targeting box on the Heads Up Display following another guy by his belt buckle, as he walked across the runway! It was the first fighter with more thrust than weight. In theory it could fly without wings! That would naturally be tough to control. The F-15 Eagle was the first aircraft where all of the outer bolts on the air frame were the same type and size. It was made to be easier to maintain and repair. Civilians don't often think about the importance of such details. The F-15, unlike other fighters of the time, did not require carts by it to spin up the engines. It relied on an internal capacitor. A truly major leap ahead in aerial combat capabilities. You don't want to face the US Air Force in combat.
I found TFE months ago and was happy that I did when I did because he always made me laugh rib hurting style. Not many people can do that for me. All of a sudden most of my favorite TH-camrs are doing reactions to him. Ya gotta keep lovin it.
A10 Warthog is a ground support plane and does that job very well, F22 is air to air or air to ground fighter jet, hence the letter in front of the number
It is worth noting that, as amazing as the F-15 is, it can't carry a bunch of weapons, fly really fast, and fly really far all at the same time; at most, it can do two of those things at one time. The 3,300 mile unrefueled flight range is the entire flight (except takeoff and landing) at at "cruising" speed (which is "only" 500 miles per hour, or about as fast as an airliner) and carrying an additional 1,500 gallons of fuel in 3 external tanks and no weapons. In a combat configuration, the F-15's range is only 450 miles (if the plan is to return to the airbase it leaves from; if not, then the table is up to 900 miles). For reference, that is approximately the distance between Faro and Viana do Castelo.
The F-22 is considered a superior fighter because of it's ability to engage enemies before they're even aware that it's sharing air space with it. It isn't as fast, it doesn't carry as much of a payload, but it can apply that payload consistently without presenting itself as a target, so it would rarely, if ever, have to Dogfight. The F-15 was designed to win any dogfight Ever because it's competition at the time, The MiG Foxbat, had False specifications released by the USSR to try and hype up it's air program. U.S.A. designed the F-15 essentially to beat a plane in a fight, that didn't exist, so it came out Drastically over-designed.
1:21 yes and no, they are made for different things. F-15 is mostly used and was built to be an Air-Superiority fighter and Intercepter so it is best at taking down Aircraft while being one of, if not, the fastest fighter jet in the world, tho some spectaculate that the F-22 is actually faster if safty protocals were removed, but the A-10 is made to be a low and slow close air-support Aircraft and tank killer so they are each better at different things than the other. Btw the F-15 is faster in a burst like a sprint runner in 100 meter dash but the F-22 is faster overall like in a 1000 meter dash, another example is Death Valley is the world's hottest desert at it's peak temps but the Sahara Desert is hotter on average
@european-reacts the F-15 is non-stealth so it can be seen by radar and the F-22 is more maneuverable but like I mentioned before the F-15 is faste in a straight line dash. The F-15 is still loved. I think it is mentioned in the song " Courtesy of the red, white and blue" by Toby Keith which was written on a napkin days after 9/11 in righteous fury but released officially years later, anyway the line "the Eagles will fly, it's going to be hell", I think it is a reference to the F-15 which is call Strike Eagle
@@european-reactsf-22 is the greatest jet ever built. I love the f-15 but the moves and how stealthy the raptor are make it a silent assassin in the skies. It is as close to obvious a fighter jet can get.
The p-47 was also able to fly with one wing becuase each wing could generate enough lift for the entire plane. What makes the f-15 special is that it could theoreticaly fly without any wings.
When I was in the active Air Force, first duty station, we had the F -16, F-15, and F- 15 E at the base. I was assigned to the F -16's. F -15s and F-16s are still being modified. I don't think they will be replaced any time soon. At least not
When I was a little girl I wanted to be an F-15 pilot when I grew up. However, in 2001 when I turned 18 women were not allowed to fly them on the front line😢! It may have been possible to be a wingman but my granddaddy had a heart attack and help was needed on the cattle farm and I was the best option (my oldest cousin was deployed, my 2nd oldest cousin had no interested in farm life) So I became a nurse then a teacher. I still love to fly!! Even my golden retriever loved to fly!!
BTW that F-15 that had its wing chopped off, the pilot didn't notice, because the damage had ruptured a fuel tank and the fuel was spraying out, covering the visual on the damage from his wingman. The pilot reported that so long as he was flying fast, it was fine, the moment he started lowering speed, he could feel the F-15 shaking, when he landed, he had to land at near full speed. It was only after he landed that the extent of the damage was seen and he said he would have ejected had he known the wing was blown off.
The Warthog is still definitely the most gangster attack aircraft of all time. They're just made for different purposes. The Warthog is hella slow, but that's so it can keep its giant cannon pointed at you for as long as possible.
In 1975, an F-15 "Streak Eagle" set the following time-to-climb records: * 3,000 meters (9,843 feet) - 27.57 seconds * 6,000 meters (19,685 feet) - 39.33 seconds * 9,000 meters (29,685 feet) - 48.86 seconds * 12,000 meters (39,370 feet) - 59.38 seconds * 15,000 meters (49,212 feet) - 77.02 seconds * 20,000 meters (65,617 feet) - 122.94 seconds * 25,000 meters (82,021 feet) - 161.02 seconds * 30,000 meters (98,425 feet) - 207.80 seconds (by comparison, a typical jet airliner can take more than 15 minutes to climb to 9,000 metres) These records were previously held by a Soviet Mig-25 Foxbat. The F-15 didn't just beat the Foxbat's records, it shattered them by around 25%. And nearly 50 years later, its records still stand. th-cam.com/video/8_f8MOXh7qw/w-d-xo.html
Not only is the F-15, gangster and reliable, it’s now dirt cheap. Parts are made so easily, with its capability. It doesn’t make any sense to stop production.
Yes, the F15 Eagle, the wildest of weasels in the American Arsenal. Though I must say the fact that you really like. The a 10 worth hog is really nice too I mean, it's. Not even classified as plain it's straight up a gun with wings😂
Let's also not forget that the F-15 can roll 'bomb truck' loadout, and also that the newer missiles and bombs the US has can be handed off. So an F-22 or SR-72 can be over enemy airspace, have an F15 launch a missile beyond its radar range, the forward aircraft can 'pick up' the missile and guide it the rest of the way. And bomb truck loadout on the F15 is just... yeah go look it up.
The A-10 is a great aircraft and one of my favorites as well. The A-10's purpose is for ground support for the most part, it is also one of the quietest jets in the fleet. The F15 is an air to air fighter with multiple roles as a bomber and ground support as well. The F15 is my favorite attack air to air fighter while the A-10 is my favorite jet for ground support missions. Both are great jets and both are to be feared if you ever know that one is coming for you.
F-15s: They're BIGGER than BIG! When they fight battles, they ALWAYS win! And they're your friend, too! With the F-15, you're BUSTIN' loose! They're BIG! And SCARY! Hahahaha... And they help people, too! And they're your friend, too! F-15: Tough, awesome, lookin great! And all your friends will want one for their friend, too! F-15: F*** yeah!
The F15 as designed was an air superiority fighter built for the express purpose of attacking and defeating MiG25's. Our (USA) intel on the MiG25 was so far off base that it turned out the F15 was overbuilt. Still, as it approaches it's 50th year of active service, it is still an integral part of the USAF. As it gained time in service, improvements were made. The wing pylons got stronger for bombs, smarter for smart bombs, and plumbed for fuel drop tanks. Confirmal fuel packs got grafted onto the fuselage sides in such a way as to actually increase lift while providing a significant amount of fuel storage. AIM9L missles gave way to AIM9X. Sparrows became the newest Amm-ram (I disremember the actual designation...what I posted is what the acronym sounds like...). HUD. FLIR. The list goes on. The newest iteration, the -EX is a flying dumptruck of smart warheads for foreheads, still maintaining all the performance we've come to know and love with more power and better fuel economy. In 1975 as I was enroute to my permanent duty station from training, there was a layover at St Louis. I walked out to the observation deck for a smoke. Looking around I saw McDonald Douglas across the field from civilian Lambert Field. A large door opened and the Streak Eagle rolled out. A highly modified, lightened, and stripped down prototype F15 built for crushing FAI flight records. It turned right which put it halfway down the main runway. Jets spool up, decibels climbing by the second, brakes release and the craft leaps forward. In less than 600 ft it was off the ground and the nose was pointed 85° in the air before the gear was even up. It was supersonic while still within sight. Thrill of my young life! The F15 was soon joined by it's ramp partner, the F16 as the second component of the high-low mix the Air Force sought. Just as good in it's role as the fifteen, just built for a different job. Never intended to replace the Eagle, rather to complement it.
A10 Warhog for ground support of troops! F 15 a Air to Air Fighter but if needed can attack ground Target! A 10 flies low and slow close to Ground. Pilot sets in a Titanium tub to protect from Ground Fire!
Yeah, I would imagine if it's flying from the US to Europe it's at a cruising speed. If it was in full afterburner it would probably make it a quarter of that distance.
Remember the F35 video where it can data link other planes? The F15EX is one of those planes. The F35 can aim and launch the weapons on the F15 FROM the F35 cockpit, and keep its own weapons unused for deeper penetration strikes while remaining stealth. TF15EX = bomb, missile truck for F35. You should do a video on the new NGAD and Loyal Wingman program. Americas next stealth Fighter to replace F22, and the AI drone that will accompany each NGAD.
It's also capable of Refueling mid air so It also could in theory fly full throttle slow down long enough to top up fuel over the Atlantic and then hammer down to London. But yes trans Atlantic it would be at cruising speed which is probably 6-800 MPH
At the time they were designed, the idea was to create one expensive, ultra-high performance fighter (the F-15) alongside a second, more affordable, but still high performing, fighter that could also be sold for export (the F-16).
Our adversaries across the world have been bragging about (see lying) their military capabilities for decades. We took them seriously and designed our weapons to counter those “capabilities”.
The fly by wire control systems first created on the F16 made it possible for the F15 to internally react and adjust flight surfaces without the pilot changing inputs. The F15 had enough lift from one wing and the body to keep flying because o these then advanced electronics. Similarly NASA had the F16 thrust vectoring experimental plane and proved that it could do a 180degree flip and remain in controlled flight moving backwards until the thrust output countered the reverse direction. Videos are available if this exact manuver. This was the basis for later software and electronics that make the F22 and F35 thrust vectoring work. It was said after leaving NASA the F16 was used as a trainer as it could be programmed to behave like any other plane. It's limits were simply whatever was programmed into it. So it could fly like a Russian jet or a 747 just by limiting it's allowed flight control surface movements. This is due to the very unstable flight design of the F16. It was impossible to fly such a design without advance electronic controls.
104 to zero speaks very loudly! The F22 Raptor is stealthy and that makes it a better fighter. Not faster not more weapons, but better in air to air combat.
Well there is also the Sky Warden the Fat Electrician did a video on it's an armed crop duster that U.S. Military had made and is currently using. That's something to check out.
We keep developing new and better defense systems because of the military/industrial complex that employs hundreds of thousands of people in the defense industry. Congress makes sure that for each new weapons systems (planes, ships, tanks, etc.,etc.) that the contracts are spread out all over the country. One state gets a contract for radios, another for hydraulic systems, another for cockpit displays, seats, parachutes, fasteners, engines, tires, and on and on and on. So even before a new system goes into active service , they are already starting on a modification or replacement. That's why we went from the F15A model to the new F15E model. Lockheed makes the C130 from the C130A to the newest C130J models.

Is you look up the F-15 video by a channel named “MUSTARD” it does a GREAT job explaining why and how we built the F-15. Happy new years m8
watch all his videos
When training with other countries, they are put at every disadvantage possible to try to make them lose since it's considered better training lol
Absolute beasts of planes
And any other test put F-22 in a bad position because failure is the mother to success
I dont know much about aircraft, but aren't they different type of fighters? Isnt the F15 a dogfight type of plane vs an F22 is long range?
And had it been made out of aluminum and titanium like the West thought it was, it might've actually lived up to the hype, but since it was made out of steel that was crudely welded and bolted together, the external design that made it appear so dangerous was actually necessary just to allow it to fly.
then decades later the entire Russian military proved itself to be a paper tiger in Ukraine
@@DarkKnight52365 I mean, I'm not really surprised that Russia couldn't really stand up to the United States.
Dont forget people complaining about the f-35 XD

But, to a grunt, on the ground, we have no better friend, than the A10.
The story I heard about the F-15 that lost a wing was that the pilot didn’t realize it until he was told. He felt like he was flying normally.
He knew. The uncontrolled rolling tipped him off. Once he increased power and applied corrective input it leveled out. He had to maintain a higher speed to get home and landed much faster than normal.
@@tvdroid22 Yes he know the plane has taken damage, but he didn`t realize he was missing the whole wing.
@@heisnotlongbutthin yes you are exactly right I know this because there is literally an interview with him. He knew SOMETHING was wrong but not how bad it was I mean think about it you are in a plane get hit correct it you don't then assume a wing is gone lol. then went on to inspire Pixy in Ace Combat Zero. Solo wing pixy
@@camcam-uw5mxyeah, from what I recall he said if he’d been able to see how bad it was he would have punched out.
Can confirm, we Americans are super proud of our Eagle. She's still one of the best aircraft ever built, even after all these years.
It still makes the Russians piss themselves hehe
We Americans who live in St. Louis, home of McDonell Douglas, now Boeing, which designed and builds the Eagle, are even more proud of the Eagle…and its new newest version, the FX.🇺🇸🦅🇺🇸😁
I mean our major theme park, non pedo related anyways, has a ride called
The Screaming Eagle. Coincidence? Na
The original F-15 is a fighter jet. Designed for dogfighting. Hence designation "F". The A-10 is a ground Attack aircraft. So compeltely different.
The 104-0 record is only for Air to air, some have been lost to Surface to Air missiles but it is still the greatest
My dad was a design engineer on the F-15, as well as quite a few of the Apollo and Gemini missions.
I like how you make sure what you heard is actually true… especially given its high performance and tech.
Mig-25 was designed in response to fears of the B-70, which was never in serial production. The F-15 was designed in response to fears of the Mig-25. Had the Mig-25 been examined by the U.S. before beginning design of the F-15, the F-15 would have never been designed.
The A-10 was not designed to engage ion air to air combat. The F-15 eagle was. Both are super aircraft.
Ward Carroll has the best video on the F-15 EX so far. You might want to check that out. The EX is very impressive.
Great video. Thanks
I'm Australian, and our Airforce is replacing our F18s with F35s, but seriously, I think our pilots would prefer the F15EX to the F35s.
I miss him so much.
the f15 f22 and f16 have been my favorite planes i do love the a10 as well i play with them in arma3 all the time
Bruh, you had the BEST reaction to the 1-wing f15 clip out of all reaction videos, that was hilarious!
Let me uses cars to compare the F15, A10 and the F22.
F15 = Ferrari: Performance, style and respect.
A10 = Cadillac Escalade: Utility, power, style and fear.
F22 = A Formula One with and invisibility cloak: FEAR, just fear.
F-18- jeep-you wont know until you hear a tone
The F-15 and the A-10 are equally badass at what they each do, they just do different things. The F-15 tells flying things to sit down. The A-10 tells rolling things to stop doing that. You are right, the F-15 does not have supercruise so it cannot travel at high supersonic speeds for a ferry flight across the Atlantic.
The F-15 has always been my favorite jet, when I was in the army across from an Air force base they did fly overs daily.
Unlike dedicated air-to-air fighters, it doesn't have a radar-guided gun; so, it is much harder for it to actually hit another jet with it's gun.
that Israeli f15 without a wing made it because the rear elevator size and the shape of the fuselage being almost shaped like a wing itself
The truly crazy part is the F22 can take on 5 or 6 F15's at the same time!!!!!!
😂🤣😂
Wings who needs wings, you thought 2 were required 😂
😂
Yeah, just look at the F-104. They start without wings. 🤣
The A10 and F15 are designed for 2 diff types of , mission objectives. A10 is for close infantry support. Protect the Topps onthe ground
You don't want to face the US Air Force in combat.
f15 is perfection
Happy New Year to Portugal from Florida USA!!
yea the pilot was quotes as saying "it became very hard to keep even and level" after he lost a whole ass wing.
As someone who watched Nick when the Fat Electrician started, its neat to see people reacting to his videos now.
That's the awesome thing about American military planes, they're often highly modular so you can customize each aircraft for a specific mission.
The US just began delivering the new variant of the F15. It is still relevant and very angry.
She's the workhorse of the military. When you visit you have to find an airshow.
The sonic boom!!
Ah ok. The F22 is a beast.
FYI the F-15 can go Mach 2.5 and the F-15 EX is supposed to be even faster with more hard points for missles and bombs
@@patrioticz2858 The F-15E is the Strike Eagle besides that I think you got everything right
@@european-reactsf-22 is the greatest jet ever built.
Yeah, the F-22 Raptor is so OP that we had to go back to the Eagle and overhauled it, just so air to air combat was less unfair!
When I was in the active Air Force, first duty station, we had the F -16, F-15, and F- 15 E at the base. I was assigned to the F -16's. F -15s and F-16s are still being modified. I don't think they will be replaced any time soon. At least not
F-15 Eagle is very cool.
I love that you are bridging the gap between East and West, thanks for doting on my native land. Privet!
The A-10 is my favorite flying gun.
The F-15 is a scary beast though.
Happy New Year to you and everyone! Sending love from Georgia USA ❤
Happy New Year from a friend in Northeast Mississippi, U.S.A.!
In 1975, an F-15 "Streak Eagle" set the following time-to-climb records:
* 3,000 meters (9,843 feet) - 27.57 seconds
* 6,000 meters (19,685 feet) - 39.33 seconds
* 9,000 meters (29,685 feet) - 48.86 seconds
* 12,000 meters (39,370 feet) - 59.38 seconds
* 15,000 meters (49,212 feet) - 77.02 seconds
* 20,000 meters (65,617 feet) - 122.94 seconds
* 25,000 meters (82,021 feet) - 161.02 seconds
* 30,000 meters (98,425 feet) - 207.80 seconds
(by comparison, a typical jet airliner can take more than 15 minutes to climb to 9,000 metres)
These records were previously held by a Soviet Mig-25 Foxbat. The F-15 didn't just beat the Foxbat's records, it shattered them by around 25%. And nearly 50 years later, its records still stand.

A-10 is my favorite, but the F-15 is knot an aircraft it's a ROCKET! Good job 2all Bsafe 🥶 🐲
I love this jet . This is the jet that my father flew.
The new F15EX2 is coming out this year, 2024. They're already training with it.
The A10 is what happens when you strap wings to the gun. The F15 is what happens when you strap wings to the engines.
a-10 has that love for ground troops
I never saw something as extreme as a wing separating, but I did see one of the 494 FS E models lose a vertical stabilizers in flight.
You would really enjoy his channel, and he's hilarious! HAPPY NEW YEAR !
Back when I was an engineering student we did the math to prove how this worked it’s super cool.
The European mind can't comprehend such levels of freedom.
Also, to make it better, the F-15 is America's primary fighter aircraft.
It takes 42 f15s to take on 1 f22 thats why everyone is scared of the f22
It's also capable of Refueling mid air so
It also could in theory fly full throttle slow down long enough to top up fuel over the Atlantic and then hammer down to London. But yes trans Atlantic it would be at cruising speed which is probably 6-800 MPH
Check out the B-58 Hustler. Old school fast.
Loved watching your reaction!!!❤
Happy New Year from the USA!
Great reaction. 👍
Oh Ty 🙏
Yes, the A-10 and the F-15 are the only members of the "Wings are optional" club.
Let's not forget the WW2 Planes that completely landed without wings, tails, or engines. B-17s for example
another neat jet is f-16 its 50 years old too AND STILL BEING MADE with two new versions f-16v and f-16v and f-16 v Block 70/72 that will keep to 2060
At the time they were designed, the idea was to create one expensive, ultra-high performance fighter (the F-15) alongside a second, more affordable, but still high performing, fighter that could also be sold for export (the F-16).
Our adversaries across the world have been bragging about (see lying) their military capabilities for decades. We took them seriously and designed our weapons to counter those “capabilities”.
"That is insane!" Welcome to America! Someone tells us a thing can't be done, we build something that proves them wrong.
The F-15 was developed in the mid 1980s to replace the F4 as an interceptor.
They like comparing apples and oranges. They are used for totally different purposes.
F-14 tomcat, F-15 and the A-10 are top 3 for sure
Tfe , and the Fat Files is so informative, love his channel, great reaction 👏
Hey Andre!
104 to zero speaks very loudly! The F22 Raptor is stealthy and that makes it a better fighter. Not faster not more weapons, but better in air to air combat.
A10 warthog is also a boss ground support turbo fan fighter
You should really watch Why The F-15 Terrified The Soviets to see more about the plane!
The F22 doesn't get used because everyone runs on fucking site and you only see the damn thing if they want you to. 😂
