This seems like an underrated wheel. No FFB is unfortunate but that is the only shifter I have seen with a hi/low range for trucking sims. It's the only wheel I have ever seen that will work on all the consoles. It supports Direct Input and X-input! The app allows you to save configs for all your games and quickly apply them this is a big positive imho. Did you try adjusting the wheel sensitivity? I have seen in another video it can be adjusted and I wonder if that might address your issue with the resolution. I wonder if you could hook up a set of T-LCM or T3PA pedals to this base, the connector looks similar. The bungie cords would be nice for games with NO FFB so you still have some resistance, if you have ever tried playing a game with no ffb on a DD wheel you know how hard that is to nail your turns. Great review as always, thanks and keep em coming.

Dirt Track Racing 2, I had to drive third person view, because my wheel had no FFB. One day, I started to drive some open practice in iRacing, and for some reason, my FFB did not load up. I thought I had forgotten how to drive. I was hitting the wall, and spinning, so FFB is important to me.

Well to be fair, no FFB wheels usually have a bungee chord to provide resistance and center the wheel so frankly it's a much much better experience than playing a sim on an FFB wheel without any FFB.
I recently booted up Test Drive Unlimited for the first time in years. Sadly, my T300 didn't have FFB with that game (my DFGT did back in the day and it was an absolute blast to play), so I used controller cuz like you said, with no resistance on a FFB wheel it's very hard to drive

@@HugoStiglitz88 I never did Test Drive. I had such a blast back in the day with DTR2. It was an AI sim, but still fun.

Skip it and start with the Thrustmaster T150, force feedback, 1080 Degrees of Rotation, and a better brake pedal. A brake pedal makes a huge difference to your ability to corner. I spent two weeks is Assetto Corsa with a PXN wheel and in the same race in that two weeks I managed to reduce the distance to the winner from 35 seconds to 27 seconds. Enter the T150, (got mine second hand for a lot less than £200). Two races and I was 7th and down to the low teens. four more races and I came first. It made way more diference than I was expecting.

i could not care less for ffb been trying to find a quality set like this without it, i dont understand the ffb hype, we didnt have that shit when NFSU released, best we had was a cheap plastic wheel, and shit was fun as hell

  • @HugoStiglitz88

I've seen G29s as cheap as $200. I believe pretty strongly in FFB being an absolute must have but using a bungee chord wheel is still much better than using a controller. I started with a bungee chord wheel on PS2. The pedals was as big of a revelation as the wheel itself as I was always terrible at using triggers or face buttons for gas/brake (i"m not sure why I didn't just use the right stick which is vastly superior IMO but I was young)
The logitech DFGT kinda changed me forever though. I'm gonna use FFB wheels for as long as I can now. It's a hopeless addiction.

I usually use the Logitech G920, has reasonable FFB.. And when not moving does not have self centering & Starts to center when moving. I generally hate self centering.. It really takes the realism out of it

I think a distinction needs to be made regarding what games are more suitable for a non force feedback wheel, games like Euro truck, American truck, city car driving, Farming sim are way more friendly to a non force feedback wheel than actual lap time based games like Assetto, iRacing etc. For people who don't have a steering wheel at all it will always help at least with an immersion boost but depending on the game and how competitive it is a non force feedback wheel can be way more underwhelming that you might think, I watched for some time the evolution of cheap wheels and my advice to unsure buyers is to choose force feedback if they predominantly play lap time based and online racing games, for the rest of casual driving games a cheap wheel like this is actually perfect especially if it has a small dead zone (cheap non force feedback steering wheels tend to have noticeable dead-zones from center and some have it at the outside as well.

I think it's just a controller that have wheel attached to it. Nothing too fancy but it will get the job done (and get what you pay for.)
But for that price range? It's a win-win.

I didn't want to invest a lot getting a wheel to play Forza 5. I thought spending almost $200 was enough. I have had this wheel for 2 months now and it's been good, but I would like to experience force feed back. I can't decide between the Thrustmaster T300RS GT or the Moza R5. I think I want to skip the logitech, but I find it hard to justify spending over $600 for entertainment. Not to mention looking at $150+ for a wheel and pedal mount. I would buy the Fanatec GT DD Pro for $699 but it has been out of stock for a while it seems.
