I just purchased Galacticon on Steam to do my part and see if I can get into these types of games, and it is inexpensive. After watching for seven and a half hours, I think I'm sold on trying to get up into the ranks one day. I also purchased Dome Keeper on Gog last month, however it doesn't run from the installation, I'm going to try to play it on Gog Galaxy next. I may be offered a refund, but I'd rather archive and play that game. Maybe, I need to buy another computer to play some of these games, even though mine exceeds these 2022 game specs. I'm waiting on Gog to get back to me with tech support. I can't wait to try this game for myself. JLD will be my initials if I ever make it on the boards.
Mike I have never lied to you. The remastered version of Zelda2 has new dungeons and new mechanics. It also has a new overmap and new items. And the best was it had a second quest. It was sooooo worth playing. I get the music deal but I promise you that you should play it off stream then. It was truly a love letter to all zelda2 fans. I hope you don't discard my comment.

I'm the guy that complained about Downwell not being colorful enough. I stand by that opinion. I want more than 3 colors on-screen at once.
I quickly glanced at the thumbnail and saw "Glacticon Cartoon Network " and thought what's that and why have I never played it until I relaised it was your logo.
I saw Rocky IV & V in the theater too. Then Rocky Balboa also. Creeds were at home. Never go to the theater now.
I would love to see you play Illusion of Gaia on SNES. One of my favorite games.

@@mikematei Games Done Quick. its a charity speedrun thing. i like the megaman and supermario games. most ov the others are just using glitches but megaman speed runs are mostly just playing the game very very well.

There are tons of single screen arcade games you can play with mame that you can't play on your mister or switch.

This video inspired me to try to beat Mike. 1st attempt, nope. 2nd attempt, yes. I got 1,982,900, barely beating his 1,937,475. Mike got to level 23, and I only got to level 19. I mostly kept the colors the same for the higher bonus, and I was able to get a lot of the secret bonuses by being a pacifist. A key difference is Mike is telling stories, being a comedian, and talking to chat the whole time. I'm just playing the game. Much easier that way.
My Switch pro controller makes me press down hard on the dpad to make things happen. I can sometimes press the dpad, and nothing happens. I like the Wii U pro controller more.
I wonder if Mike has ever played Dataman on NES?

The things that’s weird to me is that all of the early uses of CAPS-like systems (including Disney features for cinema release and select episodes of the Simpsons) during the 90s still looked great to me, but then why does it look so sterile decades later even though they are using the same tech more or less?

The 2024 leaderboard has lower scores than the 2023 and 2022 leaderboards. I don't know why there isn't an overall leaderboard.
I discussed that on the stream. Its because the game got changed. The 2024 score is an updated version of the game. The old scores people found a way to cheat.
@@mikematei Ah, ok. Haven't gotten far in the video yet. I'll see what I can do on this 2024 leaderboard too. Haven't played since 2022.
Interesting idea for a challenge: 2 player mode with 1 controller. Not sure if you can do it on real hardware or Mister, but definitely on emulator. Assign your controller to both player slots and try to beat a game without losing either player. The harder the better.

WarioWare Touched and WarioWare Smooth Moves are also really good. But those require touch and motion controls. Which you might think kills the game, but for a game about back to back mini games it's a lot of fun. There's also one on Gamecube but I think it's the same as GBA.
EDIT: The gamecube version is inferior.
Why is the Gamecube version inferior to GBA?
@@DkViking1 The single player is better on GBA because they cut out the cutscenes in the Gamecube version. The Gamecube version does add multiplayer modes though.
This is random but try the Konquest mode of Mortal Kombat Deception, you might be surprised.

I couldnt comment on the short video but sega genesis vs super nintendo super cool take on it. I know what you mean sega genesis just bites different, almost gives off a certain sound and feel that I like too. Like idk I know what you mean. You either like one or the other but I feel with you and agree. We could be friends. And have Chris and Mike Monday Evenings.
Also I had sega genesis as a kid, but played equally as much super nintendo over at my cousins so I was exploring earth worm jim on my own and i remember liking those games more than anything and thought I would go and revisit those gamers forever or for the rest of my life. So yeah I feel some of me is dying off, im 33 it was just too much sex. I think were doing ok, im totally getting myself back like games are cool, and I can dictate and go with what I say so if I say I feel good, I do amd can go off that and make choices. I dont like the experts in the chat who have to tell you everything you are doing wrong when playing metroid so I dont stream it. I do like it though.

lol Dark Souls is way too slow and.clunky with such extremely repetitive gameplay. Nintendo will never make that a Zelda game.
Also, Nintendo don't make games for kids. They make games for everyone. That's how they sell dozens of millions of copies of Zelda nowadays.

When Mike said he wants Zelda to be like Dark Souls, I'm pretty sure that he just meant he doesn't want the games to be for toddlers.
As in, enough with the baby presentation and make the games have some challenge to them.
