I recall as a kid jumping from "high" heights but revisiting those locations as and adult it revealed that the spots I leapt from weren't really as high as I thought. Also, as a kid, if I'd get a stitch-worthy cut I'd be a bit freaked like it's the end of the world and later I'd have a cool story and battle damage. These days, I can take a lot more pain, I can write off smaller injuries that mommy doesn't have to kiss better and I also feel a bit embarrassed for being a dumb idiot so I generally don't tell anyone about my accidentally self-inflicted injuries because its really not a cool story lol.
Size matters. But so does age and experience - that is to say, is your aged body in good enough order to take the hit and can your experience in taking hits mitigate some of the impact or possible injuries?

When I was a kid and wheelie bins were a new thing starting to replace the old school wheel-less bins I wrote a story about wheelie bins taking over the world in a Day of the Triffids style invasion lol.. that CCTV footage took me straight back haha

A version of the slippery driveway happened to my girlfriend with the steps to my house. I was locking up and she flew down the steps on her back. I turned like "what the hell?!" - and proceeded to bust my ass down the same seven steps in exactly the same manner and landed on top of her at the bottom, where the gate fenced us in.
...it had sleeted the night before and froze clear on the steps.
