Vol 3 was the album that started to shut up a lot of people indeed. From the guitarwork, to the songwriting and the lyrics… people were crying that Corey can only scream and use swearing words. In Vol 3 he didn’t use one word of cursing or even the word shit.
@@operatingfromtheditch it definitely did compared to self titled. But that’s also when people saying they were not good guitar players was at its peak. There were still no guitar solo sections or shredding parts. Tight fast amazing rhythm parts just weren’t flashy enough for the guitar gate keepers. Two people enjoying eachothers company over a similar passion. Is there anything better? I mean really listening to eachother play like as if they were speaking something really important out of their mouths.
Guys the reason why jim is looking at mick very closely at beginning is probably because he is analysing what mick is playing, when jim joined slipknot, he didn't knew much of music theory(i said he didn't knew much) , mick was more knowledgeable on music theory and he was the one who wrote the riffs and stuffs at first, so i think jim is still learning from mick (im not 100 percent sure of this but i just saw this information on the Internet and idk if its tru)
Probably true cos jim has said on interviews that he doesn’t know theory. Mick is the far better teacher. If you see some vids of them teaching you can see that jim isn’t really that good at teaching.
I have until now asked how the makers of Slipknot masks fit their faces, Jim when wearing a mask or not his face is the same, Even a mick wearing a very intimidating mask fits perfectly with his big body.
This video is so cool! Mick and Jim playing together is a really underrated guitar duo! Hail Slipknot, hail maggots, hail heavy metal! 🤘👿🎸 Oh and by the way it's also really cool seeing Jim playing some riffs off of Metallica's "Disposable heroes" in the end of the video! I'm sure Metallica was a really huge musical influence for them and now they are a huge musical influence themselves on the newer generations of metalheads!
totally. not unfeasible, these guys grew up on Tallica just like you or I did. Joey Jordison even drummed for Metallica as a one off when Lars couldn't
They're great guitarists. It just frustrates me that their guitar tones sound way better in videos than on their actual albums. Their isolated tracks are muddy and thin sounding at times.
I remember people use to say they weren’t good guitarists. I think vol. 3 was a “shut your mouths” moment for these guys.

I always thought Iowa was where their playing became a lot more complex

The Blister Exists. What a fucking banger damn
You know you're good when you can make a Line6 Spider sound like gold
LMAO!
With the right preset in the software it's pretty good
I thought that was a line 6! Haha!
I still have my 75w Spider IV from like 13 years ago. I absolutely love it, sounds even better than the new ones.
Well I mean, if you could play the spider won't sound like piss

3:10 Jim performing Disposable Heroes even better than Metallica themselves
yes. that's what I'm hearing. It sounds like Metallica, but it's too fast cannot really hear it.
That riff Mick starts playing at 0:51 is fuckn wicked
love how it's just a riff from the intro to The Nameless but slower.. sounded almost Sabbath if it didn't have all the crazy lead style bits
1:54 cant even hear what theyre saying but theyre literally a heavy metal beavis and butthead
🤘🏽
Jim just says if you would and then says yea a little later
I bet they laughed their asses off when they came into the room to film this and saw the two Line 6 Amps…
A tape showing Mick Thomson teaching Jim Root how to play The Nameless

Sério? Ele tá olhando para lembrar a base da música, não é que ele não sabe, ele só não se importa.
or because jim was just watching mick play while they were doing this GUitarInterview video....ur making stuff up
Mick was a guitar teacher before joining Slipknot, so I'm guessing Jim sees him as a role model or someone he looks up to too lol
Are you implying Mick is teaching him this song they just released in an album lol
