Quick tip if you have money in your treasury you can buy mercenaries on the army screen and on the right hands side there's a hand dropping coins if you click on it, it allows you to buy mercenaries. Hope this helps.
I cannot wait for this game to come out, one of my biggest peeves with city builders has always been the uniformity of houses because it just doesn’t look real. Love the building system in this
A couple challenge ideas might be... 1) Dwarven Master Crafter - Produce 0 products outside of metal (and gathering). Import everything else. 2) Nebraska - Produce only farms and farm-related products. Import everything else. 3) Professional Army - No militia, only retinue

Tips so you don't have regrets later... 1. Tax the dirty peasants! no, but in all seriousness it will definitely help in the long run if you levy even the smallest percentage of tax especially when your approval rate is so high. In the future, you may want or even need to levy taxes but have too poor of an approval rate. Also, you may need mercenaries! 2. You'll watch your village burn atop that hill! The atop-the-hill location is very cool in all honesty but the manor is also very defensively practical. Placing it closer to the town is more realistic too, especially if you ever get attacked by a much stronger force and need to use the manor's towers and walls.
The more I see of this game, the more I want it. However, it does feel like trading needs a bit of a rebalance. Without points put in it, it seems almost too expensive to be worth it for anything you need a steady supply of (like if all you're trading for is arms and armor to minimize the need for a mine and smithing). But with the two picks it feels so powerful it almost trivializes any sense of self sufficiency if you can just get one or two trade goods going consistently enough. Ooh, so far I've only ever seen the "castle" building within the yellow build confines set by the manor. The fact you can build towers to increase the building space tells me you can actually wall in your town with enough resources, though you may have to add the towers and walls bit by bit instead of being a single mega project. May not be worth an entire video/series, but it could be fun to maybe encircle an entire region with walls from your manor if that's possible.
TIPS: Build an area for a good sized market (around 90-100 stalls ought to be good to about 1,000 pop) using roads to frame it in. Make sure to only build 3 stalls at a time and make sure it gets filled by 1 of each of the 3 type. You just delete any stall that gets built that's already built in your 3. Then reassign that family to the supply type building for that good (ie. Granary or storehouse). This solves the production workers running stalls issue. It will also keep you stocked in the market all the way to large town.
You can also have a few market areas around town with the 3 stall setup to boost coverage. Just make sure to put a granary and storehouse across from it.
I also forgot to give you the biggest tip. RIGHT AWAY UPGRADE THE TENTS. It keeps you at 50% or higher and each family of 2 becomes a family of 3 right away. It counts as 5 homes and as you build the 5 homes you'll get people moving in right away.
FYI wheat is planted in the fall. There are two types of wheat. Winter wheat and spring wheat. Most wheat grown in the world is winter wheat, which is planted in the fall (Sept-Oct) it over winters and then grows up and matures in the spring and harvest is mid summer (July-Aug).
take note that food stalls in the marketplace have a short range limit. any House that is Red will need a more local Marketplace. moreso as you expand the town beyonf the reach of a central marketplace
I just got into CK3 and binge watched all your videos. Now, im all caught up and pretty good at CK3 compared to when i started. The only thing i still dont know how to do effectively is diverge or reform culture. I successfully reformed my unreformed religion yesterday. I have yet to go feudal but due to your videos I now know how to. I cant wait for Manor Lords to come out so considering you are covering it. I have only been watching your content covering it. You deserve the exposure and views man. I cant wait for your manor lords videos that follow! Cheers!
I'm absolutely loving your Manor Lords content - not putting up with you at all, it's great!! I'm enjoying your challenges, and I'd be really interested to see you keep playing after game release. I'm learning a lot from your trial and error haha
The trade system is awesome. Normally in games like this you can get bogged down with the sheer variety of materials you have to build and craft, being able to trade for them at different stages of production is cool, although it seems like it might be a bit too easy if you're doing this at max difficulty settings
The vegetable garden should probably be done by one house with a huge burger plot. You can reduce the number of houses with the minus sign. That would look better than 10 small row houses with Vegetable garden strips.
I think a cool feature that could be added later on would be military competence leveling. Like if you have a militia campaigning for months/years, theyd get more experienced at fighting.
in case no one said ... the horse lets your trader carry 10 items faster ... instead of 1 by foot ... the pack camps use mules .. same deal ... hitching posts with people assigned will act as delivery drivers for the large items ... instead of being uhaul oxen they become handyman delivery ... 2 to 4 people on oxen and 4 or so posts .... add logging camps so you can store more than 10 logs .... doesnt need to be staffed just built ... build them dotted around by foresters and you can cycle logging each area giving more growing time for each forest section
Modders better kick ass with this. This can be expanded by so much and i'm just imagining the future multiplayer aspect to this it's going to be great.
The town looks amazing, its sorta like somewhere in Switzerland countryside aye. Also,am in favour of you carrying on with this savefile,i just wanna see how far you can go to make the town sprawling even more. especially with the manor, good placement there for the lord's keep.
When you achieve that population number you´re probably going to have an army population of 360 to 540 that was a lot to armed, supply and heal the before, during, and after the battle quickly by quantity.
You can't permanently assign the 6th oxen because 1 always need to be available for your villages to use. Also you can tax you region at either 1% or 2% without any Approval Penalty but over time that small trickly of money with a larger population can make some great personal wealth
Great video Snap, I like it when you branch out to mix things up a little bit while sticking to the main game that makes your channel great at the same time. I was just wondering, what is the % chance of ever seeing another Ck3 GoT or even LotR mod video again?
I am very excited to see how this game will look once they have more funding, support and time Like there are so many areas this already amazing game can improve in
2:32 when it comes to total war stuff, its really simple, cuz the tactics are just cinda obvious most of the time, spears are for defence, swords are forr offence bows are for range etc. and flank them, get behind them :)
question about the storage: you never seem bothered by not having space and leaving stuff out in the weather to deteriorate. does it not really do much harm or matter at all?
Thanks for the video! It would be great if you can smooth your moves for the camera. You are making a lot of jerky, sudden and fast moves causing something similar to motion sickness. It also makes it hard to follow
I haven't played a city builder in years this one looks awesome if they did this but you where able to go in to first person and interact build and actually join the battles or go raid or steal from other settlements would put tgis game on another level
Your town looks amazing! I really like how you plan all these different shapes of plots, look very organic. I wonder if it's possible to have more than one market to add to your "second" town? Or its only possible to build only one?
i noticed ur not taking advantage of making ur "housing lines" utlize all the houses getting a extra living space, could be alot more efficient (i think) but the + - signs can add or remove the amount of houses after youve selected a Area for them to be buildt
This game looks really awesome. It would be neat if they let you fight in the battles kind of like banner lord and take control of some of your soldiers
Not gonna lie I really want to build a city with thousands of people in mannor lords. Heyyyo, I play banished and try to maintain about 1100-1200 population sometimes swelling to 1500-1600. Usually by year 200-300 I’m running 10x speed time. At that point my 13k i9 w/3070ti runs like 12-20fps. I usually stop trying to expand due to not being able to go 10x smoothly. haha maybe!! Would be some challenge then!!
You should be able to upgrade the production facilities so their more efficient.
Thoughts?

Yeah the house building system is one of my favorite parts!
