Dualtron Colorado WORST winter ride yet!

  • I sold my car last year and ride my Dualtron everywhere including in the winter and in some pretty bad conditions. This was the worst if all the days this past winter that i rode in. There were a few days we had too much snow where I walked to work or got a ride. Ive put now 1300 miles on my dualtron 3 and feel incredibly comfortable riding it in all conditions.

      I own three electric scooters (first one I gave to a friend), and I use them to get to work April to Oct 31st. I can do this because I live 7kms from my work place and its a bike path from my door step to the parking lot. There is a time for a scooter and then there is a time for a car. Winter is not scooter time. It harms the battery shortening the life span. Where do all these batteries go??? Answer Currently, the landfill. It takes a lot of resources (oil or coal) to mine the resources to make these batteries. And these batteries contain many toxic poisons to the environment when dumped in the landfill. A good reliable car that is maintained does not harm the planet. A combination of transit, biking, walking, and car is what people need to do. And for some, the car is their only solution. Any electricity that comes from a Windmill is the worst for the planet. I am referring to those windmills with the big propellers. Don't believe. Find out how many birds and bats die from these blades. And those blades get chucked into the landfill as they are not recyclable.

    Wow that’s not insane. I found it difficult to ride my Thunder in the snow with the tires being pretty wide. I can only imagine how tricky it can be the ride the Dualtron 3 in the snow. Also just to let you know check the motors if you ride in the rain or snow because the water can cause it to rust.

      @happydappyman ปีที่แล้ว

      @@kpresnell45 yeah well I'd think you have to keep em inside anyway for the sake of the battery in that type of cold. I've seen a video and a few comments about studded tires so it looks like some people are doing it. I've also been looking around for any comments on maybe just an off road tire with nice soft rubber which might work just as well. I'm finding it really hard to find decent info on scooter tires though haha. Or even many places to buy them

    I just got an Eagle Pro and find the throttle and regen brakes to be very touch to say the least, so I guess you have gotten used / adjusted P settings on yours so this is not the case. I had regen P7 set at 4 or 5 and the brakes were pretty awful (way grabby). Other than that - and 'that' is a pretty big negative, IMO - the scooter feels head and shoulders above my prior scooter, a EMove Cruiser.

    • @kpresnell45
      @kpresnell45  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      I've had the P setting at 3, but I also have ABS on. Are you using ABS? without ABS on, they are really grabby. You will get use to it, I very rarely have to break hard enough to engage the disc brakes.

    • @arevee9429
      @arevee9429 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@kpresnell45 Thanks. I haven't tried ABS because I've heard bad things about it, among which are that it's hard on the controller, but you are probably right about getting used to it. When I first got my EMove Cruiser, it seemed too fast. Now it seems too slow.

    Hey I was wondering if you have road the scooter in any state parks, and if your allowed to? The law seems to ignore scooters and classify them as "toys"? I'm assuming you could ride them in the paths people ride bikes in at state parks?

    • @kpresnell45
      @kpresnell45  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      GDaniel I’m sure it varies park to park. If there are bike paths, it’s safe to assume the scooters are ok on them.

      Depends where you are, for example in Quebec it’s considered legal if your vehicle goes 70km/h and bellow which is pretty close to the max you can get from a 50cc engine. If it goes higher than this it’s considered a motorbike and you need to get a license and be registered. Though for sidewalk use you’ll be fine with a 20mph or above and range is up to you. That also means you can’t go on the highway which is the point of making 70km/h the max
