      @@rejectbaal791 Nice, I have it set up like that as well! I ride it with Eco turned on and when I want to go faster I put it in turbo. Im not really about top speed but range because I like to go far and just explore! I wonder how much range I'd get if I put it on max save for battery (P9)? That's what I'm going to be testing this weekend.

    • @kentimig
      @kentimig 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@jessa.3857 I have my Storm set P7 = 5, P8 = 100, P9 = 2. It has been manageable, but still fast when I want it to be. I'm not sure it the Thunder 2 has the same torque output as the Storm, but they are both 72v systems. I see no need for more aggressive accelerate, so P7 is great at 5. I can take off without spinning the wheels. Much easier to control at low speeds. P8 seems to limit the top speed of the scooter. P9 seems to limit the torque of the scooter while moving. If you put it to 3, the battery is able to dump lots of current fast, and the torque is a little harder to manage at speed. With P9 at 1, the scoot slows down more when going up hills. 2 feels good. Good hill climbing at speed, but not too abrupt while accelerating at speed. I always start out, and drive in ECO mode if I'm staying below 30-35 mph. If I'm on open road, and want to go fast, I'll take it out of ECO mode once I'm up to 25mph or so. It's like have a low-speed gear, and a high-speed gear. I always stay in gear 3 while riding. Gears 1 and 2 just limit the top speed, from what I can tell. Throttle/acceleration is the same in all gears until you hit that gear's top speed, so changing gears has little affect on rideability. It only acts as a speed limiter. I use the ECO button to shift between a "low gear" for low speeds, and a "high gear" for high speeds.

      @jessa.3857 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@kentimig My P8 and P9 settings are the same as yours but I have P7 @ 1. It feels manageable to me because I always ride in an agro stance (back foot against plate) instead of flat footed. I'm thinking about putting it @ 5 for my long trips in order to save some more battery. I do like the quick burst of acceleration from the line though. I've been having a lot of fun with it for sure! Thanks for you reply!

    Great breakdown of the Dualtron lineup! Jimmy looked like he was too lightweight to handle the X2. Ha Ha. One of my favorite features of the X2 is the extra battery located in the steering column dedicated to the lights. The suspension and size of the tires on the X2 eats up everything in its path. I've hit potholes that would have been disastrous for scooters with smaller tires and less suspension support. And yes, it's always a party when you rock those Dualtron RGB lights. Thanks for another great one.👍👍 And oh, you have to ease off of the throttle when you're riding at high speed on the X2 to avoid that sudden wobble.

    Would love to know what speed delivers the max range on all the models. that is something buyers should know.

    • @kentimig
      @kentimig 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Max range is achieved by maintaining a constant, slow speed. Minimize the need for torque, by accelerating slowly and smoothly, maintaining constant slow speed speed. Slow speed minimizes wind resistance (and the torque needed to overcome it). Smooth and slow acceleration minimizes torque demands on the battery as well.

      thats because they too busy milking money from the peeple they offer them crap scooters or ones with l;ow specs Uk doing it right now , years later they sell at higher prices so say cost 1200 they will sell for 2300 all about profit to them , that why i buy unbranded or rare make ones for decent price they have the specs just not the white mans name.
      i dont need to pay for there name stuff #brands i will buying another one then i am complete i just have to learn and upgrade my scooterss then all will be modeless perfect for when i need to go some were

    Noticed something regarding the Dual tron suspension.
    He was complaining about it being too 0lush and showing how he "stiffened" the settings.
    Those were dampening settings not affecting actual spring rate just the speed in which it compresses or rebounds. There was a spring preload adjuster that should increase the actual stiffness by precompressing the spring resulting in more force required for compression. From what I saw, he had this fully out in the softest setting possible.
    Ideally, you first get the appropriate spring for your weight, then adjust preload to taste and lastly you adjust compression then rebound.
    Having max compression just destroys the ride. You really only need it to prevent harsh bottoming out. It's something you want as responsive as possible.
    Rebound should be set and forget for your weight and spring rate with enough to prevent you bouncing off everything or harsh top out. Too much and you lose travel as it packs up from consecutive hits unable to fully spring back.
    Long story short, to stiffen up the ride adjust the large disk compressing the coil spring you can see the threading on the shock. Right tighty/ stiffer.
    OH, and yes, I understand that a coil spring cannot have its rate adjusted like an air spring. This is technically preload.
    Sorry if this came across bossy just trying to help.

      Yep, it irritates me beyond belief they use the seriously out dated square controller. I know it just plain easier and cheaper to just throw in a cheap square controller . The jerking motion from a square controller is beyond annoying. Did not realize just how bad i would hate it until i tried my dualtron thunder 2. Definite buyers remorse. They need to get out of the past and advance to the future. I just recently finally got to try a scooter with a good quality sine wave controller . The difference in ride quality and smoothness is huge. Now selling my thunder 2. Not even 200 miles on it. Everything else on the thunder 2 is fantastic, but the horrible square controller ruins it for me.
