At 3,711 feet above sea level and with gradual approaches on both sides, Yellowhead Pass is the ideal railway passage of Canada’s Rocky Mountains.
Canadian National utilizes this strategic crossing of the continental divide marking the provincial boundary of British Columbia and Alberta. The railway is busy with intermodal traffic heading to and from west coast ports of Vancouver and Prince Rupert, BC. The rails stay polished with unit grain and coal trains heading for export, numerous mixed merchandise trains, and Via Rail passenger trains sporting sleek silver dome cars.
See this incredibly beautiful line from Hinton, Alberta, to Red Pass, British Columbia. A good deal of the route traverses the picturesque setting of Jasper National Park. 7idea Productions made two trips to the Yellowhead Country and our cameras captured its natural beauty in both summer and winter.
This program was shot between August 2016 and January 2017.

Wish I didn't have an evening shift to work tonight, guess I'll have to stay up late and watch this afterward
just smoke crack
This is an incredible channel. You literally get the best vantage points for rail fanning in the most scenic places in North America. And with winter snow scenes. We traveled to British Columbia and Alberta in 2015 & 2016 and saw a small fraction of these locations. Excellent filming.
Super great video. Thank you for showcasing a part of our beautiful country to the rest of the world!
Outstanding video and excellent locations.
Thanks for posting this Team 7idea Productions .
Definitely worth waiting for! Love the CN
Beautifully done ....
Especially for folks whom will never personally see 👀-!!!. 😉

Interesting/informative/entertaining. Excellent photography job enabling viewers to better understand what the orator is describing. Noticed graffiti art work on box and tanker cars. Wondering if the artists are seeing 👀their creations on this presentation -???😳. What makes this presentation exceptionally professional. Is summer & winter months photography -!!!😉. Viewing this presentation from the comfort zone of my computer room. Along the " Space Coast "🚀of Florida 🐊🐊. Wishing viewers& R.R. Employees. A safe/healthy/prosperous/( 2024 ) 🌈🎉😉. Jasper park is in the top 10 park preserves on the 🌎.
Here having a beer 🍺 and enjoying this 😀
I gotta get me back up to jasper national park, and listen to those whining traction motors echo through the mountains. Great vid!!
nice
That bridge @13:41 is constructed near identical to all the Milwaukee railroad bridges, not a single weld on the lower substructure, just flat bar and angle iron with alot of rivets holding it all together,
Another stunning and amazing production, you really do hold the bar for high quality and informative videos and i thank you so much for sharing them with us
super video sir ❤❤❤❤
I used to work on that line for 5 years
❤
I very much enjoy your videos 😊 keep up the good work 👏
Your videos are so relaxing and your voice just goes with it 😌
Little Fun Fact: The Fraser River is a Gold Mecca! However, more gold is found north of Vancouver to Quesnel River! CN has tracks that run that stretch as well, even on both sides of the River!
Your videos are done so well. Every aspect of them is professionalism at its greatest. From the narration to the wonderful videography and editing it is superb! I consider these works to be gifts that are beautiful to watch, listen to and just sit back and relax for up to 2 or more hours on the longer ones. Bravo 7idea Productions… BRAVO!
Thank you very much!
Just superb!!🎨🧑🎨
Awesome.
Great video as always. Nice to have seen the hometown of the late Harry Home in the Jasper segment.
Many years working at Jasper the place I call home
very nice
hey 7Idea, I love the videos you guys put out. Would I be able to use a few of the shots in this video for a project I'm working on for the grand railway hotels of Canada? i'll credit you appropriately for it and also happy to send a private link for you to see before hand. Thanks again :)
The lake near Hinton, Brule Lake, it’s pronounced, ‘brew lay’ it is a French name… I should know as that is my last name! 😂
Thanks for the correction!
👏👏👏👏👏👏👏😝
How did you get the shot @20:40? I've been there, and didn't see any vantage point for that elevated angle
It was just a short walk off of the road. As I recall, I followed a set of wheel ruts that led me to the spot.
@@7ideaproductionsthx!
this was mostly shot in banff, decieving!!!
Banff is actually on the CP's Laggon Sub. East of Kicking Horse Pass. Considerably south of this CN line. I will say that both rail lines are simply spectacular and these videos don't do them justice.
Wrong. I worked there for 32 years and it is definitely. not Banff
Definitely Hinton to Red Pass.
edson sub is my home rails. Love this video. Thanks for getting up to Canada to make such high quality films. keep up the spectacular work.
