Wow, what a great combination ladies Bump love 2.0 is way 🔥 and the topic was very insightful to me as a mother of 4. My son was diagnosed with cancer and I had to take a career break to nurse him while receiving his treatment.
The set back was a painful blow to my self-esteem, independence and confidence especially that I had invested a lot of time, energy, and emotions into studying a challenging course. However, I am fulfilled that i did this to ensure that he had my time, care and support throughout his battle until his last breath. When am grieving, the one thing that comforts me even though at the time it was a set back is the fact that i gave up everything to give Adam (MHSRIP) my absolute best!

    CHILDREN ARE A SETBACK.
Setback definition, a happening that hinders or impedes something from progressing.
It is not a bad thing. It is just what it is.
The ultimate love is that we know it and still choose them.

Have enjoyed this episode. I remember putting my masters on hold in 2020 because i felt i couldn't juggle the two together( pregnancy n school.) as am speaking, just last year 2023, i decided to enrol and do a professional certificate with URA. At the same time i decided to resume with my MBA. Have just completed my certificate with URA, graduation is in july, now am doing my masters, completing it in September, at the same time have been given an offer with the British school of interior designers and guess what am going for it. Coz that has always been my dream. N am also planning to have my 3rd born. I made up my mind, nothing will set me back again.

Im here watching at 41 weeks pregnant watching at 2:30am coz of insomnia. I think also increasingly the advancement of society can easily render children a setback. When we celebrate taking women out of the home but not supporting them in childcare it becomes setback. Thats why countries like Netherlands will give mothers upto 2 years support with childbirth. Then also the conversation of men using children to keep women put.

I was always scared of having a child cz of my salary but when I had my son, I got a salary increment and I was so happy and before I knew I was able to afford to pay for my master's my child never lacks and boom! Even a better job came through. These were answered prayers of like 4years so for me my child was never a set back but rather a triple blessing.

How I wish I was given a chance to share my opinion 😊 anyway let me do, I’m a mother of one baby girl. It’s been 2 years of the journey, and I love it here. Yes there are sort of things that I can no longer do because of that one title I earned. However this can never hold me back from getting better and higher in life. It always makes me wanting to go extra mile so that I can make of a great mother and a great person at large. I believe every change that comes in our lives adds a value that we realise later on. Moreover a child brings joy and maturity. As for the set backs, you learn how to deal and handle them along the way. One more thing is one getting a child has to be prepared in all aspects.
    Peace and love. Zahra 😊

It's definitely a set back in which ever angle. Forexample those that have fought that set back have ended up into depression, bad parent interms of neglecting or delegating there responsibility as parents or moms to catch up with the running world. Will give an example of my self. Am doing my nursing course and in my last sem. I failed a paper (only) because I could never concentrate. So I agree, it's a clear set back.

Hello bump love, I think children are a set back for people that get them under the wrong circumstances, like with absent or deadbeat fathers, mother's with poor mental health, cause with that someone is unable to support themselves mentally and then there comes another little human that needs them 100%, but generally children are a lot of work and takes much more effort to beat that perceived setback, but they are a blessing after everything

I have to be smarter in terms of the way I do life, planning, organizing, etc. I'm not the same woman I was before giving birth and I gave birth in Covid for the first time. The fact and the truth is that kids set us back, we even walk slower in pregnancy. 13:02 it goes back to what you define success as. My mom gave up her job to join my dad and subsequently had us. She later on worked again but she says we are her greatest joy and in that way she considers herself successful and fulfilled ❤❤

Well I clearly understand n appreciate the roles the former panelists of bump love but I'm here to encourage us not to box this show according to the former panelists. Just like many of us had limited information about Pumla, Rachel and the rest but just let them be n were shocked on what they brought on table. Let's be open minded, the uniqueness everyone possess will allow us get some wisdom to apply

Hello bump love, having children is a set back for us who fall sick the minute we conceive till we give birth. that means we cant be available for our husbands, jobs etc. Another thing the costs at which our husband spend money to make sure we get better is so stressing to them and us. I remember one day I went for maternity visit and I was underweight and baby was so small doc said his going to put a tube in my nose so the baby can eat coz I had no Appetite at all. don't get me wrong i love my boy but am even scared to have another baby.its been 4 years since
