Exactly! It's similar with my Alfa Romeo Giulia Veloce Q4. The Italians have it all and know how to design. Even in the interior. I get the puke everytime I see those big ugly sticking out screens. E.g. in most Audis, Mercs and other brands like Kia, Huyundai etc. It just looks shitty.
A shame it is a Maserati though

@@cerberusthesavage I believe all modern cars are like this. Look at Mercedes today, they don’t deserve that proud name. The W140 was built like a tank, the new S class is garbage. Lights, screens, useless gimmicks are what’s seen as cool in cars today. Jaguars used to be so special! Today they are just like everything else. Slap a Kia badge on there, nobody will know. The X308 XJ is the last real Jaaag! Before, cars were made by engineers, today it’s the marketing department. The only brands that still make nice, desirable and quality cars are Cadillac, Porsche and Rolls Royce…

Ad a previous owner of a Ghibli Grandsport s and now a current owner of a Ghibli Trofeo, the Ferrari V8 completely transformed this car, the performance is outstanding and easily used as an everyday driver, now I only wish we had an autobahn in the USA. Thanks for the great videos they are awesome.

The interior is very uninspired and the quality of it is average for it’s price, but under the bonnet there’s a crazy horse that i would love to tame.

That is a tad more old school and special car compared to overly complicated, 4wd german rivals. I deeply miss the 6 speed manuel n/a E39 M5 days, which will never come back :(

Why does it seem like the transmission shifts slower than the SQ4 model? I have a Ghibli SQ4, and it seems to shift faster than this one does.

The gearbox seems to shift in a sluggish way.
I’ve noticed to, the older one was actually pretty quick shifting. I mean it’s still a luxury/sport sedan so I get it why it’s smooth and sluggish but still.

The car is heavily insulated. Also Maseratis are cross plane crank not flat so they do not have the brass instrument sound. The California is the closest one gets to a Maseratis w a flat plane crank v8 (the car was originally a Maseratis project ironically)

How is this a "gentleman's ferrari". you can get it for 30-40k€ as diesel, same price as a new Golf.

Paddles on the column, not on the steering wheel. Not a good idea imho.
This is derived from racing, when correcting the wheel due to oversteer, fixating the paddles on the column allows you to always chose the right gear. Maybe on a road car it makes less sense, but if you like sliding it, this set up makes more sense.

In racing You choose the right gear before the corner. And You dont change the gears in the middle.
@@Iker_Skywalker On a car with a quick steering rack, it makes no sense whatsoever. But some do prefer it. There is a reason why an F1 car for example has a steering wheel mounting paddles. How often do you do a full lock drift and shift during that drift in a road car? That's the only case where I would find the column mounted paddles more sensible..

Interior is so dated compared to the competitors. No full digital cluster, center stack is basic, and looks too much like a Chrysler which is based on. Ghibli is Garbage for the money.
