03:32 The Tuk-tuk might be there legally, I'm not sure. There is no number plate, and if it is restricted to 30 km/h it could be legal.
Mopeds restricted to 30 km/h SHALL use the cycle path, if there is any. 45 km/h mopeds may NOT use the cycle path.

Im going this route as well in june 2023, is it easy to find good tent areas to sleep, maybe with other bike travelers aswell ??

It wasn't hard at all. We had the official route guide which helped a lot (if you read German) or another decent map of the area would be useful as well. This is the guide we used: www.stanfords.co.uk/Berlin-to-Copenhagen-Cycle-Route-Bikeline-Map-Guide_9783850008341. We met a few other riders doing the route though not many - it doesn't seem to be a particularly busy one, which we didn't mind. A lot of campsites also offer chalets, bothies or huts for not much more than the camping fee if you're in a group which offer a decent night's sleep without having to pitch and take down your tent. Overall it's an amazing route - you should have a fantastic time!

Good question, I’m planning on doing it in July and tough to find info on lodgings (including camping) . There is only one guide for this route and it’s in German which I don’t understand.

This looks incredible! How did you plan the route/know which roads would be best for cycling?

We just followed the signs - there's an official route: www.bike-berlin-copenhagen.com/

Hi and thanks for the video which gives a good feeling of what to expect.
I’m struggling to get in and out at both ends (from Paris train options are complex with a loaded bike, plane faster but how easy to find bike boxes in limited time and a ticket bought ahead of time? )
So not sure which way I should choose Copenhagen to Berlin or reverse which seems more often mentioned. Did you experience a lot of headwind going south? Do you think it would be nicer going northbound ?
Also would it be easy to find camping spots if the official ones in July are full , same for B&B or Hotels ? Thanks for any advice

We flew on this occasion, using cardboard bike boxes from bike shops. We contacted one in Berlin in advance who set aside some ebike boxes for us and we just needed to pick them up when we got to Berlin. One of our group got the ferry to Amsterdam and the train from there, which may be less of a faff than Eurostar with a bike if you want to avoid flying.
In terms of direction, we went south because the trip was inspired by a sign I'd seen in Copenhagen pointing to Berlin and I simply wanted to ride that route. That's as much thought as went into that!
As you can see from the weather in the video, we experienced zero wind of any kind! I've no idea how that might be under different conditions.
As for finding accommodation, I'm sure with the benefits of Google Maps and what not, there won't be any difficulty finding somewhere to stay. We were there in May/June and had zero issues. You tend to find that if you turn up on a bike they will be able to find a spot for you.
Whether northbound would be nicer I can't say. It's a great trip either way round! Have fun!

@@bangingonaboutbikes Hi again and thanks for previous response which I wasn't able to make use of because I planned my trip too late and couldn't manage trains with my bike. So I'm planning to do it this year end of june and this time in the same direction as you.. Unfortunately I don't have the same amount of time as you guys did. What you did in 9 days I would need to do in 7 days. I've seen I can take local trains on some parts of the route but I find it more difficult to chose which sections to avoid. Someone suggested I avoid the section between Copenhagne and Koge and the last 50 kms before Berlin as more urban sections. Others said the northern part of Germany is slightly less interesting somewhere out of Rostock. If you can still remember , which sections would you recommend I skip if possible? I would ideally like to skip a little bit in each country rather than a bigger section in one only, but that might be more reasonnable in Germany ? Did you wild camp in Germany or did you just turn up at campgrounds and had no difficulty getting a space at last minute? Thanks for any advice on the different stages.

Did you cycle to the airport for you're flight home or did you pack the bikes in the city and get a taxi to the airport.

Packed the bikes into boxes we got from a bike shop and got a taxi.

Hey, how did you buy the tickets for the Gedser-Rostock ferry? Was there a machine terminal or? :) Thanks! Cool trip!

That's a good question. I think there was a machine. But you can certainly buy them at the terminal. You don't need to book ahead.
