- I've changed the title of the video. Disclaimer: a track entitled "Lost in Space Drum n Bass 2000" or simply "Drum n Bass 2000" exists on various music streaming web sites such as Last.fm for which Squarepusher or Amon Tobin are widely credited as the artist. However, the track is in fact "Hungry on Arrival" (Spring Heel Jack Remix) by the group Outernational Meltdown and found on a compilation entitled Lost in Space Drum 'n' Bass Phase 00:03.
I remember listening to this all fall and winter 97/98, continuing the following years, it was the theme of my incoming depression
THE SAME! 🙏
This beautiful track was floating around P2P networks like Napster and Soulseek in the mid to late 90s mislabelled as "Squarepusher - Coopers World" off the album "Lost in Space, Drum & Bass, Vol. 1".
The track is actually "Outernational Meltdown - Hungry On Arrival (Spring Heel Jack Remix)", the first track off the album "Lost In Space Drum 'n' Bass Phase 00:03", which was released in the UK in 1997.
Great tune from the golden age of electronica. I still have my version from early 2000s that I downloaded from Morpheus. I always thought it was Coopers World as well.
Yes! This was the first "Squarepusher" track I got off Napster ~20yrs ago. Thanks to the mislabeling, got to know the rest of his work too. I never would have found it again, if not for this upload.
yeeep. totally. the only part that really made me think it was squarepusher was that doubled/fifth bass part at 2:49
Nina Leitner , wow thanks.
This entire thread is a walk down memory lane. Kudos, Nina. Cycled into this via algorithm and now I've diverged from Jenkinson to some SHJ.
I could float through space for eternity with nothing but this song on loop.
This is one of the best tracks ever.
Seriously.
. When I, erm, "found " this song back in the days I knew it wasn't a Squarepusher song but it kind of became one because all my friends called it "that chill Squarepusher song. Hilarious that so many people have this on a burned cd somewhere.
Hah yes! Same!
I love how so many people found this track the same way, a mislabeled mp3 from the wild west days of napster/kazaa/bearshare/limewire. I love torrents but I miss the random search results of gnutella that would introduce you to stuff you never would have heard
I'VE BEEN TRYING TO FIND THE REAL NAME OF THIS SONG FOR YEARS!!! Thank you so much for posting! I also knew this only as "Cooper's World" (obviously wrong).
Beautiful song, the very first DnB track i ever heard. Nice ro hear it after so long
Haven't heard this in a WHILE!
+biomech48 Well I'm so glad that you did post this & kept the erroneous title; I was looking for the exact song title/artist for awhile now and, thanks to you, I've finally found it... again, gracias mi amigo!
thank you for preserving your error for future generations to misinterpret.
sounds like spring heel jack to me - brilliant abstract d&b duo
It is spring heel jack
this was the first dnb track I ever heard too!

UPDATE THE FLIPPING TITLE to "Outernational Meltdown - Hungry On Arrival (Spring Heel Jack Remix)", so search engines can actually index and find it correctly. This is absolutely nothing to do with the artist Squarepusher whatsoever, and looks plainly silly.
I can imagine squarepusher doing something close to this.
I just found my new favorite song.
lol, I've always known this as Lost In Space. I imagine we all downloaded this back in the day off Napster or Lime Wire or something with the wrong label. There's probably some person out there that deserves to get kicked in the nuts. I've been listening to this track for the better part of a decade and never understood why it didn't really sound like Squarepusher. Thanks for the clarification.
SPRING HEEL JACK FTW!
I don't care if this isn't Squarepusher, I still really like this song. Doesn't sound like his style anyway.
I can tell you this is not Squarepusher.
@mebemike Very true. I got this tune from Napster years ago under the wrong title. Just like most others probably did. And it is one great track.
Easy mistake...
I have this very same mp3 and it is titled by squarepusher also.
I did always kinda wander if it was him, when i first heard it
I searched on Squarepusher too....
fööööötte sache !!!!!!!!!!!!!!
"I'm going to leave the title as it is so people who know this track as squarepusher's can also find it on youtube."
Why not correct the title and instead mention squarepusher in the description?
I first had this Track as "Squarepusher - Cooper's World" :\
Squarepusher - Drum n Bass 2000 was the title. I probably had a 2nd or 3rd generation misattribution.
this is not squarepusher
@mebemike I agree about the kick in the nuts comment, I knew it as a Squarepusher track as well! Haha.
@oneswtwld
Same here, I started off with Squarepusher entering into the dnb realm.
I have also heard this and seen it listed as Squarepusher's work, I wonder why theres such confusion?
@eetherealflux Of course - check out Tundra, Iambic 5 Poetry, Ultravisitor, Beep Street, Planetarium - some of my favorites. Just search for Squarepusher.
Do you even know Squarepusher, bro? XD
I think this is actually LTJ Bukem.....
I thought your picture was a fly agaric mushroom at first 😂
@beatnykk ditto! I was searching for this thing for EVER! Wonder how it came to be associated with squarepusher?? Do you know?
fly fly
mmmmmmmm sweeeeet
@alna1287 lol thx. i already know them... keep up the beat!
No man, this is the 6th symphony by Mozart on prozac..
this song is by amon tobin
guyzzzz i got some newzz for yall
this is not squarepusher lulz its spring heel jack i bet none of you knew that now change this title right now!!!!
You're intentionally giving this video a deceptive title instead of being honest and correcting the mistake. You cannot justify that based on being consistent with somebody else's mistake. You're effectively taking credit away from one person and giving to somebody else who had nothing to do with the track itself. How exactly do you justify that? You should really change the title - there's nothing right about this at all.
Not the Pusher... Nice beat though!
Think its Omni trio
tis..
@utukea rather, CHILL as FUCK
NOPE, no track 15 on any version of *Hard Normal Daddy* from Squarepusher, so that's entirely BS:
www.discogs.com/Squarepusher-Hard-Normal-Daddy/master/9985
This is NOT Squarepusher, FFS.
+jimthing1 It's the title track of Do you know Squarepusher, idiot
For sure this is much more spring hill jack then Squarepusher. def not squarepusher.
@eetherealflux wat up kid?!
@everelusive9 No it isn't.
its not on youtube so it dosent exist
@eetherealflux I haz a confuzed.
@alna1287 yo
bu ne ya.
non si sente
No where near as imaginative nor pretty as Jenkinson.
funny enough this was the most recent dnb track I have ever heard.
Still loving it as I type.
