Proof that high quality video, catchy thumbnails and editing are no equal for the tempered raw skill of an artist. Very few mistakes, each movement calculated and honed. Elements of both a natural and a dedicated practitioner. A few things I picked up on from this video and Alex’s techniques: He is using mostly symmetrical hand gestures. First gentle impressions before deep ones; as seen after marking the cross-section for the eyes. The neck was formed following the relief of the major surfaces of the face, some of the neck and shoulders also used economically for the hair. Eyes are carved to emulate the hollow pupil. Intricate use of the fingers especially for details like lips and nostrils. A tool is only rarely required for detailed and folded planes, like in those of the eyes and their lids. When marking positions of the mouth and nose he is often standing back to get a bene vista and then moving closer for detail. Stepping back and forth from the sculpture only, due to the rotating stand the sculpture lies on which makes circling unreasonable. Due to this, you probably want to keep both the symmetrical front view and the profile views in mind whilst proceeding, checking them every so often. Large areas are quickly smoothed with the palm during the initial stages of development.
Now that’s plastic surgery on a whole new level. Using a chunk out of her neck for hair transplant. 🧐 A real treat to see a master at work. Absolutely wonderful. 🙏🏻
a genius of sculpture, fabulous, is simply fabulous! But I don't know anything 😭, so in quick motion I stay in limbo, hahaha, thank you very much, you need an Oscar, blessings
Thanks! You too can sculpt no worse, because there is love in your heart. On my site you will find many tips for beginners and even for advanced artists. Good luck! cherkov.com
alexander you do amazing work I could'nt stop watching, you would have been a busy man around the 16th century, I build violins in past years but they have stencils and plans, but this is by feel and hands only and eyes, incredible, would love to know where you have sold them
The truth is very beautiful, it has very fine details and it is impressive how you did the hair ... the only thing that I did not like or did not convince me at all was the eyes, they are a bit strange especially the left one but anyway magnificent work
I love the way most of this was done by hand.
I am absolutely mesmerized watching you and I will probably watch this hundred more times thank you for posting it
