    Great video. Thanks for the details. I'm always conscious of my electricity and water usage at camping. There is no need to waste water and electricity just because they're included in the price.

      Thanks for watching and sharing your thoughts! You're absolutely right - being mindful of electricity and water usage is crucial, especially when camping. Not only does it help preserve our natural resources, but it also ensures a more sustainable camping experience for everyone.

    Thank you for this video. Can you make an up-to-date video about renting a pitch full year, respecting the 28 days rule? I am very interested in buying a motorhome and live in it. What are the costs for a year's rent for a pitch, electricity, council tax? i think it would be helpful for many people.

      Hey there, we've got a video on our channel that breaks down all the costs of living in a caravan, including pitch fees, utilities, and everything else you can think of. Check it out: th-cam.com/video/Ppo4B4lmZ_k/w-d-xo.html

      @@FreedomSeekers-FS Hi and thank you for answering. I saw that video and it is a very good one. But you said people who rent a pitch per year have to pay council tax but you did not say how much. Can you explain a bit more about this?

    • @FreedomSeekers-FS
      @FreedomSeekers-FS  5 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      The council tax issue for those renting a pitch on a campsite can vary depending on local regulations and the specific terms of your pitch rental agreement. Generally, campsite owners are responsible for paying council tax on the land they own or lease, which includes any fixed structures like permanent caravans or lodges.

      @@FreedomSeekers-FS In other words if I want to rent a pitch at Mill Park annually I would have to ask the local council and see what they say?!

    I have worked on campsites for 30 years here in the UK.
    I have experience in all aspects of site work & work all hours, winter & summer.
    I'm currently looking for work in England.
    I charge £10 per hour & require accommodation.

      Wow, 30 years of experience is impressive! It sounds like you bring a wealth of knowledge and skill to the table. Just so you know, the current minimum wage in England is £11.44, and most employers in the camping industry offer higher wages. Don't underestimate your value! Good luck with your job search! Electric must be expensive for a site, as most modern caravans use electric heating, that's definitely not cheap. Great vlog

    Everyone understands cost of living increase general. Everyone also understands it's a business so charge as much as is possible while ensuring full rather like a hotel. We go to some expensive site but with the best of facilities, immaculately clean indoor swimming pool complex, small bowling ally etc. we understand the capex an open involved and are happy to pay. I think some site pish towards the very high end in price without the very high end facility which seems to take the Mick but business is business, nobody makes anyone book and travel

    • @FreedomSeekers-FS

      Thank you for watching! You're right; it's about providing value for the price. While some sites may charge high prices without the necessary facilities, others, like the one you mentioned, offer top-notch facilities, making the cost worthwhile. It's all about finding the right balance between price and amenities.

    Cost is seen as to high,it does not matter if that is true or not its what people think.
    Wealthy older people will pay this cost but in time the younger generation will have no interest in owning a caravan on the scale that is needed to support all of the caravan sites so as time goes on some caravan site's will close.
    Also you can see the younger generation prefer stealth camping.
    So there will always be a need for caravan sites but the high price will make it harder to survive.

    • @FreedomSeekers-FS
      @FreedomSeekers-FS  7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Thanks for sharing your perspective! You make some valid points about the perceived cost of caravan sites and the potential impact on future generations' interest in owning caravans. It's true that trends like stealth camping may become more popular among the younger generation. However, as you mentioned, there will always be a need for caravan sites, albeit potentially with adjustments to pricing models to remain sustainable. It's an interesting topic to consider the evolving landscape of camping and caravanning.

    I may be the only one, but I think campsite prices are more than reasonable at present. Dare I say it, even cheap. I do foresee the need for much larger price increases in the future due to much larger increases in costs than the small increases we have seen so far. The danger is that some customers may not have the extra funds to meet these costs. Perhaps, in time, people will become more accustomed to higher and higher costs of their lifestyle and learn to adjust accordingly without blaming other people so much.

    • @FreedomSeekers-FS
      @FreedomSeekers-FS  7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      You bring up a valid point about the current affordability of campsite prices. It's true that operational costs may continue to rise, potentially necessitating larger price adjustments in the future. Adapting to these changes can indeed be challenging for some, but perhaps as we adjust to evolving economic realities, there may be a shift in how we perceive and manage the costs associated with our lifestyle choices. Ultimately, finding a balance between affordability and sustainability is key to ensuring that everyone can continue to enjoy the camping experience.

    Why are French campsites so much cheaper

    • @FreedomSeekers-FS
      @FreedomSeekers-FS  7 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Yeah, it's interesting how campsite prices can differ from place to place, right? French campsites might be cheaper for a few reasons. It could be because of how they're run, where they're located, or even local rules. Factors such as operating costs, government taxes, and demand all play a role in determining pricing. French campsites may have different cost structures and market dynamics compared to those in other countries. It's also worth noting that perceptions of cost can be influenced by personal experiences and expectations.

      Absolutely, maintaining cleanliness on the campsite is essential. Irresponsible users indeed add to the expense on cleaning products, which in turn may affect the running costs. It's crucial for all campers to be mindful of their impact. Thanks for watching!

      @@FreedomSeekers-FS grass, gravel and toilets are the things people remember. 30 years ago we used to go camping with the kids, and they loved it. Standards of cleanliness ranked from awful to adequate, and we compiled lists. It's too expensive nowadays, cheaper to use air BnB, and I am not sure what future towing a caravan has, with the push to EVs. Our local very well established holiday site now no longer takes touring caravans and is selling high quality expensive lodges as second homes, with managed security and second income potential.
