- Dear friends and visitors, this is my new fingerstyle arrangement of a great song from my youth! ABBA's "The Winner Takes It All". It was released in 1980 and played on the radio millions of times from that day. I really like the harmonies of this composition and I hope you enjoy my simple cover version for acoustic solo guitar. What!? I saw a documentary last evening about how ABBA composed their songs. They showed this and I thought: I have to make an arrangement of this song!! It's true! And here you are!!! How strange! Now I cannot make an arrangement! This is too good! Darn you Jimmy! :-) KIDDING! it is so beautiful and such a sweet performance! Great job my friend! Always such a pleasure to see a new video from you!

I was lucky enough to be blessed with 10 years of fingerstyle picking and singing my songs and my favorites in and around Galveston. By carrying a bass line and accenting melody mixed with chord accents, you can give the appearance of 3 guitars playing at once. It is a gift to play as you do. I enjoyed my visit. I am 73, and was the frontman for 2 rock bands in the late 1960s, was a songwriter in Nashville in the 1980s, and a 7 nights per week solo entertainer concentrating on restaurant/bars where I sang for families. My ultimate music life was the 10 years in Galveston. What you do is my favorite form of music. You, too, are blessed, my friend. I have reduced feeling in my right-hand that makes sliding up and down my wooden lady's slender neck difficult. 2 four-disc fusion procedures brought me back from an 8 year period when I could not play at all. I will be back for more listens. Thank you for your complimentary words and keep posting your arrangements. I appreciate your gifts of music. 🎶

I recorded a vocal to your track last night but the venue was cavernous and even coming directly from the mixing console the room created a strong echo. The speakers to an audience of about 225 delivered a pristine sound and both my voice and your guitar rang true. Will sing it again tonight at avenue that is recording-friendly.
