I own an Onyx V1 that doesn’t go into sport mode. When I pulled the battery cover to look for the wires, I didn’t see any. Is the set up different on mine or are the wires located elsewhere?
its made and sold in the US. Originally it didn't have this. My 2021 Onyx RCR didn't have this either. Must be a newer thing on them. Similar to how the surrons come with a wire that you cut instead to unlock it.

The gauge of those wires is crazy thin. Does all the wiring on this bike look this cheap and undersized?

Yeah your wires will be completely different. You'll wanna contact ONYX on their website to get help on your bike specifically.
