    I'm 70, still playing on stage, and I'm not exaggerating when I say this has been the best amp review I have ever seen on TH-cam. And, if I could play like you I'd be Soooo happy and proud.

    HELLO GUITAR INTERACTIVE.Great demo. I bought a S20 after watching this review and was happy to know a foot switch was included. However the loud pop when switching channels via the foot switch is awful.. is there a fix for that? Am I doing something wrong?. The FS cable is very long. The intent of that length to keep you from having to run back and forth to switch from clean to drive. Can you imagine that loud pop in your set? Sounds like a gunshot. HELP PLEASE.

    Ok here is an update to whomever is interested. After close to 1 month of shows, I noticed speaker pop on channel 2, in addition to losing reverb on channel 1. Amp was still playable however, any type of movement or pressure on top of amp would cause the tubes or circuitry, unsure what to cause loud crackling and shorting out. I called a very good company who I bought the amp from and they overnighted a new amp, just in time for a big show. I tested the amp briefly, all good. After set up and during soundcheck, I went to Dirty sound, POP, Lost 90 percent of volume. Strumming guitar it would come in and out sporadically, absolutely useable! This was the second BRAND NEW prs sonzera amp 50 with similar issues. Needless to say I personally will not be using any PRS amps. This may be bad luck, bad batch, who knows, however I cannot afford the unreliability of this amp. My set up is an Array Schmidt Pedal Board, similar setup to Pete thorns on slightly smaller scale. I play with Suhr Classic Pro and Fender Custom Strat. Top of the line stuff, very disappointed in the quality of this amp
    .

      Here in the states they provide zero technical support to the owners or to the trade. There are no service centers. If you need repair or warranty service pack it up and send it back to PRS and they'll get to it when they get to it. One arrived here DOA and getting it running was the easy part-blown power tube-but one channel was way down on volume and a lot of background noise. After about a week of screwing around trying to suss out the circuit and having no luck getting PRS to respond in a meaningful way it went back to them. Turns out it was still under warranty. So a few months ago I get a message and it was from the owner and he has a new set of problems. I tell him "You know what you gotta do." What a business model, It costs the owner time and money, is all it accomplishes. They are on my DNR list.

    Not metal? I played a 20w version briefly while testing out a used guitar at a local store, and the gain on it was great, even at low volumes. It was certainly good enough to do '80s metal, power metal, etc. Yeah, maybe not the dowtuned heavy stuff/djent, etc but then again, maybe with a pedal...

    Amazing review and incredibly thorough for all of the amp's features. Moreover, Tom is one of if not the best guitar player that we have today. I've been playing for 50+ years and I could not take my eyes off his left hand! Remarkably smooth.

  • @IPushHard
    @IPushHard 6 ปีที่แล้ว +4

    I like it, BUT... it's a waste of time for me.
    50 watts and no power reduction circuit is a deal breaker for me.
    A 50/25/5 configuration would have been perfect!
    I don't think that PRS has caught on yet that the overall trend is to versatile smaller wattage amps. People are dumping the 100 watt heads and going with less power nowadays.
    I would use it for home/studio/live and 50 watts doesn't cut it for home use. Cops would be confiscating my amp within a week. lol
    Try try again PRS. It's close, but its still a miss.
    Thanks

      Yep - definitely (in my opinion anyway) - I had an SE30 combo 5 years ago but sold it as the drive sounds were too fizzy - have now got the Sonzera 20 combo which is miles better - I can get closer to a Marshally tone and the clean channel is superb
