@14:47 Zherka's right about the boat thing, if you get a telescope you can watch a boat move away from you forever, right up until it gets to the other side of the world, this is indeed true.
Chat is a young special breed that will hate on anything, especially anyone arguing with the channel they are subbed to. Add the fact that intelligent people usually don't punch down in comment sections, they won't usually waste their time.
Zerhka hit the nail on the head. You in fact cannot zoom in on ships that are over the horizon. They just look like they sink into the water. Same is true with high rise buildings. You can see the tops of buildings before you see the base as you approach the shore.

I don't follow Zherka outside of the DGG Orbit, is he legit into flat earth shit? I know he's a master troll but he really did go deep enough into the rabbit hole to make me think he was being serious.
In reference to the “getting unwanted food” situation the woman is 100% right. In that situation regardless of if what was gotten is exactly what you’d want your SO doing it out of consideration for you is all that really matters in my personal opinion. I feel like the food itself shouldn’t be what’s appreciated in that situation necessarily.
the act-of-service bit is right on her end, but there are some things that shouldn't be assumed for people & in this guy's case it's food. Things like meals & rest can massively impact a person's mood and it's not unreasonable for them to be particular in the things they hold personally significant. She should be able to understand that he doesn't particularly care for acts of service, but if she wants to perform them anyway she should know by this point that food is one of those things she can't just decide for him.
@@TurntReynolds if you wake up and receive food that you have otherwise not had at all just because someone cares enough about you to get it and that impacts your mood negatively you should reevaluate yourself. It’s also strange to not care about selfless acts of affection from your SO nor do I think he specifically said that he dislikes them? This is honestly just basic manners and companionship in my opinion. She isn’t removing his ability to get food later and once again he was asleep anyways. His issue was solely that he didn’t get the exact thing he would have ordered and he didn’t indicate that he disliked the food itself.

Just in case we've accidentally attracted flat earthers, Zherka doesn't believe what he's saying, he's clowning on you just as hard as he's clowning on the caller. Every one of his arguments has a spherical earth answer (compass points along electric field lines, vanishing point is only the point that distant lines SEEM to converge but are actually stretched asymptotically meaning without some sort of crazy atmospheric interference you could see infinitely on a flat plain with a big enough telescope, fish eye lens horizon cap, etc...) The best flat earth arguments can't contend with someone who is moderately informed on their subject matter.
Obviously globeheads have their own "answers", but the problem is that their answers are unscientific and not repeatable. Ive never seen water wrap around a ball (especially when the ball is spinning at 1000mph), but apparently the earth is a giant spinning ball with water wrapped around it. The answer you would give would be "well duh the earth is so big its gravitational pull holds the water in place 🤓" but its such a cop out response because you cant repeat that in a lab at all. Theres no way we can test that theory because we don't have anything the size of the planet earth to experiment with, so we have to just take you at your word. flat earthers believe that the earths water is flat and level, and antarctica is the container that keeps the water in place. This would seem to make more sense because just from our own personal experience, if you ever see water its always contained in something (lake, river, puddle, pond), and the water is always flat and level. (This is why engineers use water levels when building something) You have NEVER seen curved water in your life.
@@Polycubism I want to be kind to you, because people are very mean to flat earthers. Your comment belies an ignorance about how we demonstrate something is correct in science. You have the broad strokes right, that something be repeatable for example, but there are plenty of ways to gather experimental evidence outside of a hyper controlled lab setting, depending on what you're trying to prove. You wouldn't need to construct a lab around Earth to demonstrate it is a globe just like you wouldn't ever need to capture the entire Grand Canyon in a lab for thousands of years to discern it was formed via erosion. Sometimes observations on a small scale allow you to make incredibly precise predictions about something on a bigger scale as well. Testing the temperature inside a corner of a big insulated box will tell you the temperature of the corner in the other side, for example. Non curved water is hardly proof that the Earth isn't a globe considering I HAVE seen plenty of curved water in my life. All I have to do is visit a beach on a clear day and watch a boat disappear over the horizon, something I've done. Hell, I'm pretty sure it's trivial math to calculate the Earth's curvature from the shadows of tall things. I think we actually did that in one of my college courses. In conclusion, I think nothing in your response demonstrates anything non-scientific about the Earth being a globe.
