I keep my headphones in my ear and call someone right when I get off the train and say things like oh is dad home im headed home now. And my grandmother taught me to keep a pen or scissors in my pocket (I don’t do the scissors) but I keep a small perfume in my pocket for just in case. If you can, you’re best giving them something with some better nutrition like seeds, corn etc. If you still want to feed them bread, tear it up into little bits and soak it in water for a few minutes. One of the problems with dry bread is that it can swell up in their crops and make them ill, but if you soak it first you stop that from happening. My chickens used to love it as special treat along with leftover plain pasta and rice 😊 hope this helps!
Another tip for you is don't tell men about your TH-cam channel because they could possibly figure out where you live from that. I haven't really noticed if your careful about not showing the outside of your apartment from your windows. Be mindful of that. Another person here in the comments mentioned giving fake names and fake personal info to people you meet. I've always done that, even with someone that you think is going to be okay, because you just never know, and you can always give them the real info once your sure about them. I'm sorry that happened to you, but use it as a reason to be even more careful.
