Jen Ledger is awesome
I hope she is a regular vocalist in their songs, I LOVE female vocals! And she did a GREAT job!
@@mikehall4190 she's got her own band too, just search for Ledger
@@mikehall4190 yep man. she is rocking
I thought she was in her mid 20 when hero came out
You need "whispers in the dark"in your life
Favorite song by them.
It’s an amazing song 🙏💪💪💪
YES!!!!!
Please do it 🙏🏻
Agreed
Fact: You don't have to be Christian to love and enjoy Skillet
trust
Facts
Very true. I'm not christian and love them.
Can concur. Not religious, but love Skillet and their lyrics.
We all gain something different from the same thing, at the end of it.
Big facts
This was Jen's first album with the band.. and she added the missing link to the sound..
Edit: Salvation, the first song where she's the lead just echoes that.. and its only kept going since ..
yes she makes it so much better
Best drummer ever imo. She’s awesome
Jen added the cherry on top to an already awesome band :)
I've heard it said many times that Jen made an already good band great.
Hes discovered jen, its game over fellas
Hell yeah 😂
ITS TOASTY TIME (killing floor 1 btw)
The moment I heard Jen it was over😹✌️
The Jetset Nerd were in the endgame now
Wait until he discovers that Jen Ledger and Korey Cooper did a side project called Ledger. I just discovered this as well today.
Skillet: Whispers in the Dark. Do it now! lol
Ami P. The live video when two guys started with a violin and bass was epic!
Yeah do it please
Yes, absolutely!
I have to say, as a Police Officer in Europe, this song gets my Tearducts every time.
I have seen so many families fall apart because of suicides or Crimes.
I have seen so many people die, no matter what the cause, be it accident or intent.
I have seen People cry because they were given the dignity of beeing treated as a human being.
I have seen friends and collegues break due to the long term stress.
I have cradled dying people in my arms to keep them comfort until they passed.
I litteraly start tearing up in the first 5 seconds of this song.
Just keep that in mind.
You're a hero :)
God bless you. I hope your day is wonderful.

And rebirth, comatose, Lucy, alien youth
No one here yep
Awake alive is 🔥
To me The Resistance is my favorite
Whispers in the Dark by Skillet. You're welcome.
That song has gotten me through some dark times
I’ll agree with that
Oh yeah please!
It's so awesome to have seen a Christian band become so popular over the years. I've been listening to Skillet for at least 5-6 years and they've helped me realize that there are more ways to worship (if you interpret it that way) than the common contemporary music we hear in churches and on the radio. God bless this band!
Facts 🤘🤘
10-12yrs for me
It was the first band I got hooked on
Amens's Lords's.
This song needs to be reignited now, as an anthem against COVID-19.
Among other things now😢

Listen to Comatose(I like its layering) and Whispers in the Dark(fantasticness).
Abram Tabor those are my two fav songs by them thank you !!!
Really good songs
Next Skillet song you should listen to has to be Whispers in the Dark
The first one i ever listened back in 2006, still my favorite song from them
Or The Resistance to mention some new stuff
I like the thirst is taking over from back in the day...
This song gives me goosebumps 😭😭😭😭
YES! One of my favorites! That and Falling Inside The Black
Whenever I hear this song I now think of the firefighters in Australia right now, keep them in your prayers please, I have family in NSW
That's why music is great. Different interpretations through life experiences. Prayers to your family.
"It doesn't seem like they are pushing their views on you, just making quality muaic." PREACH XD
I feel all Skillet songs can be interpreted any way you want too. Some songs have more obvious lyrics that relate to their religion. But to me, I just hear a bunch of awesome rock songs from a band I love to death
Yeah. All of their songs can be interpreted as religious or non-religious. For example, their slower and more heart-felt songs can be seen as love songs.
Alex, the female singer is the drummer she sings while drumming!! Great live show.
The drummer/singer is Jen Ledger....
@@loganshort1324 I think jlm10181978 meant to say to Alex, (the guy reacting) that the female singer is also the drummer, not that Alex is her name:)
@@johanwikman2799 I realize that now after reading it again.
Yeah sorry about the confusion my grammar obviously isn’t the best!
And one hell of a voice.
The drummer Jen Ledger, has so really good solo records out. I think you would love her songs Alex.
What is it called?

True and Fact: The Rain was real it really rained on set of them playing.
I absolutely love the majority of skillet's songs. The mix of Jon and Jen's vocals is awesome.
Skillet - Awake and Alive have the same cool combination of male+female vocal.
And don't forget about whispers in the dark and other songs.

Skillet is one of my all time favorite bands. I've seen Skillet live 11 times and Jen Ledger's slide project live 3x. I've met the band snd have tons of merch including sighned merch. Jen Ledger is the best girl alive(both in looks, Personaly, and talent ) her snd the band have changed my life and helped me get closer to Christ. Also excellent choice if Jen as thumbnail. I've seen probably 50 of the most popular rock/metal bands live and Skillet is top 2 hands down with their energy. first song i heard them play live was Hero. absolutely amazing. never forget it. if you haven't seen them live you're sadly missing out.
This Song was The one that brought me into rock 4 years ago, and later this path I found disturbed, who later brought me into metal. I still come back and listen to the songs, because they represent my journey to my favorite music and bands! I really appreciate all the songs I listened to on my journey, but this truly is the first and special for me! Rock on, guys 'n girls!🤘
Awake and Alive and Whispers in the Dark. Awake and Alive also has the good combination vocals.

I’m loving the Skillet reactions! They have so many good songs, Whispers in the Dark, Legendary, Undefeated, Sick of it, Out of Hell to name a few

Finish Line, Circus for a Psycho, and Back from the Dead too!
Hey man, I am a huge fan of your channel and as a metal fan I love to see you branching out and reacting to all of these different bands. I was already a Skillet fan, with that being said, I have never seen this music video and if it weren't for you I might not have. I am an Army Veteran and current first responder and to see Skillet feature those professions in this video was actually pretty emotional for me. Thanks again man and keep up the good work.

What you said
Need to do some older skillet songs from their collide album like Savior
YES!!! FFAK FOR SURE!!!!!
ah yes, FFAK, and also Silent Planet and Phineas should be on his list too
Saw them in concert.. they were just as amazing! Jen playing drums, singing as the drums were lifted and spinning in circles, insane.. She blew my mind (& yes, this was at HeavenFest, Skillet and POD).lol
I remember listening to this when i was like 10. Skillet was my first taste of rock and it had me. Still isn't as intense as my favorite Sabaton but it's just so nostalgic!
Same as me
Their music has changed so much since their first album (1996). To this day I still listen to some of those songs. What I really love about that album is that it is totally focused on God. There are no hidden meanings or anything like that which would make it seem like a secular band or songs. In today's world we see bands (which also includes Skillet) making songs that don't directly reflect God or mention God. While I am not against it... but I think we tend to shy away a bit by hiding or disguising the true meaning or reason of the song - which ultimately needs to be God.
Please listen to "Whispers in the Dark" by Skillet... You won't regret it
Dude yes. That's what I'm talking about. Their older stuff was so sick.
Next song :"awake and alive " by Skillet
I love Skillet. I'll be 50 this year and still rocking out to them. My son got me listen to them years ago. Amazing. Took my son, daughter and his friend to the concert here in Tulsa and we was close to the stage, ok I was close to the speakers and it was awesome. It was so worth every penny I spent. Their new CD is awesome. I listen to it in the car and I have to say I'm surprised I haven't gotten a ticket yet 😂😂😂. On that note have a great day.
Whispers on the dark, collide, my obsession and thirst is taking over are my fav skillet songs

Man the first time i hear Skillet many years Ago, was with this song! I fell in love with Jen ledge's voice!
You really need to check out the female vocalist's other band. They're called Ledger, which is her last name. Her name is Jen Ledger, and she's amazing. She plays drums *while singing* with Skillet, and it's just as good live as on the record, if not better.
Skillet is amazing bro, I was the same way when I first heard them, and every time I go back after not listening to them for while, I have the same reaction as I did the first time \m/ Stay positive always man, you're making a difference with you're attitude, and I dig your vids!

Hi Alex!
Please react to Avantasia: the scarecrow or the wicked symphony or the ravenchild
Avantasia is a German supergroup metal opera project created by Tobias Sammet, vocalist of the band Edguy.
It has been characterized as a rock opera, as it features the contributions of various vocalists and musicians and it consists of concept albums.
Some of the guest that have been featured on Avantasia are: Michael Kiske (Helloween), Jørn Lande, Alice Cooper, Klaus Meine(Scorpions), Dee Snider(Twisted sisters), Marco Hietala(Nightwish), Sharon den Adel(Within Temptation), Hansi Kursch(Blind Guardian)
For sure you will love that band.
Hoping you will react to one of there songs one day.

Timo Poling I saw Skillet live a few weeks ago and this was their opening song!! It was such an awesome concert and they put on an amazing show! If you ever get the chance I highly reccomend you go see them!
@@calebpowers5530 Im an Atheist and still appreciate their inspirational music. I just interpret it a bit different than their typical fans
One of my favorite things about Skillet is that if you’re religious or not, you can still interpret the lyrics into your own way.
This song is about all law enforcement and soldiers who give up so much for everyone else in this world.
Yeah, I thought it was easy to guys. Even for me as a German. But he just ignored the facts Given in the video and said Jesus?! A bit dumb if u ask me
shrove In my opinion that is the beauty in their message.
You can see it with or without a belief and it is still always a good music, so I always thought about the same people you talked about.
It might just be a habit of people who believe in a god to be like "Jesus" or "Mohammed" or whoever, when it's something they agree with spiritually.
shrove no, the song is about Jesus. Skillet meant the VIDEO (no italics, sorry, so I used all caps) to honor firefighters and other heroic figures, but the song itself is about his hero, Jesus Christ. I can say this with confidence because I just went to a Skillet concert two weeks ago (great experience, 10/10 would recommend) and John Cooper said it himself. “People always ask me who I wrote this song for. I wrote it for the person that has never let me down, gave me a hope, gave me a future when I had no hope and no future, and that is my hero Jesus Christ”. (Thank God for videos-it was a good speech).
I saw Skillet over the summer and he explained this song is about the person that gets you out of bed in the morning. He did say he wrote it about Jesus Christ (his Hero) but for the listener it is about that one person that you can rely on to get you through the day. My 16 year old son was clinging to me the whole time during the song and I saw a number of people getting emotional and grabbing a loved one.
By the way Dylan, I agree AWESOME band live! My son and I drove 3 hours for the show and it was completely worth it.
Can be either my friend
Dude you gotta listen to Awake and Alive. Probably their most famous song

Nick Mesogianes especially if you know the real story behind it.
God damn, no not Lucy. It's a great a song, but man is it a great way to leave you in a sad, crying, depressed mess lol.
